May I please join? Had Dd in September. She's sick with a cold at the moment and very unhappy :(

grammargirl · 23/02/2018 21:36

@mrsjkerry that sounds absolutely awful. We have a CO session booked for next week: how did you find it?

@lydiangel83 we've just been prescribed Gaviscon but he's EBF and totally bottle naive so haven't attempted to administer it yet.

mrsjkerry · 23/02/2018 21:41

@grammargirl can't you give the gaviscon on a spoon?

I'm not sure how I feel about the CO. The lady said that in her 25 years of treating babies my baby is one of the most uncomfortable ones she's seen. I find that a very sweeping statement so wonder if it's a line she gives lots of parents to ensure that they return. She basically said my daughter has a very tight diaphragm which makes feeding uncomfortable and that the temporal lobes in her head do not move as they should after a 60 odd hour back to back labour! My baby seems a BIT happier...I think...but I'm not sure if that's me just looking for something that may or may not be there.

ew1990 · 23/02/2018 21:49

@GinUnicorn DD has just got over her first cold, I got an Asdas little angels vapour bath and put it in her baths and she could breathe at night rather than struggling through a stuffy nose,

@lydiangel83 @grammargirl @mrsjkerry hope your little ones get better with the reflux soon

grammargirl · 23/02/2018 22:00

@ew1990 thanks Smile

@mrsjkerry I'd be sceptical too but it's definitely worth a try, isn't it! I was dead against any 'alternative' treatment until I was pregnant and had my very bad back fixed by a chiropractor in one session.

Huge, huge respect to you for getting through that labour. You're obviously superwoman!

GinUnicorn · 23/02/2018 22:05

@ew1990 thanks I'll try that. It's horrible seeing her upset poor thing x

ew1990 · 23/02/2018 22:34

@mrsjkerry DD went back to back for About 20 minutes until I summoned the energy to stand off the bed to help her turn and it was agony so god knows how you did 60 odd hours!

mrsjkerry · 24/02/2018 06:56

@ew1990 I did everything to try and get her to turn!!! It was bad yes. I couldn't sit down the entirety of my labour...

mrsjkerry · 24/02/2018 06:57

@lydiangel83 the more I read about it the more I think my baby has a cows milk allergy

lydiangel83 · 24/02/2018 18:09

@mrsjkerry yes we tried osteopath and made feeding less painful x

Hey all random question... I am having some of my new mum friends over on Tuesday as a two of them are getting married in next few wks and we wanted to play a few hen type games with them as a surprise. Just wondered if anyone had any ideas!? I already have the toilet paper wedding dress game but struggling for one or two more games that we can do during the day with babies there! Xx

@lydiangel83 I just read your post about silent reflux. We had the same, and the doctors said it couldn't be an allergy. I kept going back and back and back and eventually they prescribed us an amino acid formula. She's not 100% better, and it's only been a week, but I haven't given her any ranitidine or anything and she seems fine with the reflux. CMPA can cause just reflux on it's on.

For us, other symptoms were vomiting, eczema and generally being unsettled

lydiangel83 · 15/03/2018 08:03

Thanks @mrsjkerry sorry to hear you have same issues. What medicine are you on, something other than omeprazol? Paediatricians and GP said unlikely to be CMPA due to good weight gain, good akin and hair, normal nappies. Have you had to go dairy free? I'd probably lose loads of weight to be fair!

We have good weight gain because she comfort eats I think.

I'm not breastfeeding. She was fed through a drip first week of life so it just never happened for us

lydiangel83 · 15/03/2018 08:35

Ah yes I remember @mrsjkerry apologies I forgot. Glad she has got good weight gain tho x

All of the reflux issues started full force after 8 week vaccinations. Baby had her 16 week ones yday and is so cranky. I will be watching very carefully this time...they are so horrible. I wish to god we didn't need them.

ew1990 · 15/03/2018 13:10

@lydiangel83 just followed the blog on Instagram

Just had the most frustrating appt ever about my coccyx - wait 5 months to be told I need an mri scan and that's it! Why could that not have been a phone call?! Monumental waste of time and obviously baby screamed throughout the appt
