Well that's not what my MW said or friends that have recommended so god knows then! The bottle I have even came with instructions to show you how to use and it shouldn't be uncomfortable or painful? They certainly aren't shoving two thumbs up there in my instructions!!

Julesbegone · 01/10/2017 22:49

Haha yep @TheLionQueen1 that’s what I’ve been told too. Thumbs in and literally stretching the skin. Should either tingle or burn slightly.

Julesbegone · 01/10/2017 22:51

If only it were as simple as running some oil into the outside!

I'd just read that it should sting, sounds delightful! Just told my oh I'm debating getting some 'oil for my foof' and before I got chance to explain he pulled a face and said 'not while I'm eating' oh God help him during labour 😂 is it not really awkward to lean around your bump to do that?

Missonhartbaby · 01/10/2017 23:24

Wow I haven't heard of perineal massage! And to be honest I'm not sure it's something I'm gonna try... I'm not even sure I could get around my bump to do it properly! Haha

ew1990 · 01/10/2017 23:30

Tried to shave today that was bloody hard enough! (Sorry if tmi) it doesn't sound very appealing to me if I'm honest

Missonhartbaby · 01/10/2017 23:40

@ew1990 lol funnily enough, I did the exact same today actually and it was bloody difficult!!! Me neither, I think I'll just let nature do it's thing

TheLionQueen1 · 02/10/2017 09:03

Well that's a waste of the past 6 weeks for me then! Mine just says about one finger inserted and rubbing down and that was a bottle bought in boots!

Every time I shave my legs I end up with cuts everywhere and I haven't even attempted my bikini line, it would be carnage 😂

ScotsLamb · 02/10/2017 10:58

I've still been getting Hollywood wax done through pregnancy. My leg hair is growing really slowly but it will get to the point where OH will need to do it. Last wax will be 4 weeks before due date.

I've just had blood taken at the dr after a really really rubbish sleep. Not sure if my current lethargic feeling is lack of sleep, dehydration or body not liking blood being taken (I've normally got low blood pressure). Just feeling a bit pants today.

Bobbiepin · 02/10/2017 12:46

My DH has refused to help me tidy up down below. I can feel its a mess but there's no visual at all. Not sure how to tackle it!

ew1990 · 02/10/2017 14:03

@Bobbiepin it must have took me a good half hour! My oh said he would do it he's just scared of cutting me, I tackled it by standing over a mirror, I can't see anything down there otherwise, it was very awkward

JamdaniSari · 02/10/2017 14:19

Hi all!

Hope you yummy mummies are doing well!
I'm 14 w & 4 d with my first....and counting down to mat leave! x

Missonhartbaby · 02/10/2017 20:15

@scotslamb could be low iron... I felt super tired and worse after they took my blood, turns out I was quite anemic!
As for the shaving issue, waxing would probably be easier but im such a wuss... Bodes great for labour doesn't it! Haha. I've been shaving in the bath and doing it based on feel instead of sight... Luckily OH doesn't seen to care much but I think it's important to feel nice!

Missonhartbaby · 02/10/2017 20:15

And @JamdaniSari welcome and congrats! You've got all this to look forward to the bigger your bump gets haha!

ew1990 · 02/10/2017 20:38

@Missonhartbaby I tried to do it by feel but missed loads of patches! 😂😂 I know midwifes have seen it all but I'd rather not give birth with a full on bush I never have one 😳😳

NC1990 · 02/10/2017 20:58

I've taken to using a mirror to help with the bikini line situation. Shaving my legs is a serious undertaking and the hair grows back so quickly (I'm really dark-haired) that it's almost not even worth it! Just another of pregnancy's challenges 😭

Squigglefish · 02/10/2017 21:19

From positive tests and early scans all the way through to perineal massage and clumsy grooming. I love this thread!
I didn't even know perineal massage was a thing 🙃
Is anyone else dreading the bleeding, wearing huge pants and maternity pads the size of mattresses?

Missonhartbaby · 02/10/2017 21:20

I agree! I know they don't care but I still want to feel like I haven't just let myself go... And it just makes me feel cleaner to have it abit tidied. @NC1990 I'm super dark haired too, it's a nightmare... I haven't had too much issue with legs actually thank God!

ew1990 · 02/10/2017 21:23

@Squigglefish I am, my periods are normally really heavy and I suffer from the worst period pains so I'm dreading it after not having one for 9 months

Missonhartbaby · 02/10/2017 21:23

@Squigglefish haha I love it! At least we're not shy 😂😂
Yep I'm abit concerned for how long the bleeding goes on for to be honest? I've stocked up on maternity pads and big pants. Yay! Seems pointless shaving now thinking about it! Ha

Bobbiepin · 02/10/2017 21:25

Shaving my legs isnt that bad, I lean a leg on the side of the bath and its not awful. Once a week seems to do me ok. Honestly never shaved my legs so much, my maternity wardrobe is mostly dresses so I'm stuck with it.

I'm gonna have to try and tackle the rest at some point. I'm half tempted to use DH's clippers, might be safer than a razor! I'm definitely too much of a wuss for a wax!

ew1990 · 02/10/2017 21:29

I have been eyeing up his beard trimmer for nearer the time to neaten up!

I'm so tired these past few days - I haven't got the energy to do anything - I've had an hours nap at 6 and I'm in bed now, I really need to pack hospital bags but can't find the energy

MistyBxx · 02/10/2017 21:30

Hi girlies! Hope you're all good! Sorry I've been awol!
@mrsjkerry
@ew1990
@Flatwhite31
How are you lovelies doing??
I'm 21 weeks now and slowly but surely dragging myself through the fatigue. 20w was somewhat of a turning point! I'm now down to napping only once or twice a week after work rather than every single evening!
Also, I'm off on holiday tomorrow to Benalmadena with the Hubster. Looking forward but suddenly having a major wobble about overheating and hurting the baby 😞😞😞 I don't plan on lying out there baking all day every day (it's gonna be 25-30 degrees) but I'm scared of being too warm all over in case the baby struggles inside me with the high temperature. I was so looking forward to this Babymoon and now I'm having a panic!!
Any advice?!?

ew1990 · 02/10/2017 21:36

@MistyBxx glad your doing well 😊 I think amniotic fluid is a higher temp than your body to keep baby snug - I wouldn't try to worry to much just make sure you stay hydrated - just under 6 week to go until my due date 😳 it's going so fast

MistyBxx · 02/10/2017 21:56

Oh wow!! Oh not long to go now!! So blinking exciting!!xx
