I haven't booked any classes, so unorganised but I think I'm going to book the tour of the maternity ward for next weekend!

Julesbegone · 30/09/2017 19:42

@ScotsLamb is that what the tingly hands are!!? I have them!

ew1990 · 30/09/2017 19:55

@Julesbegone it sounds like it, no one tells you about these pregnancy symptoms do they?

I got measured for a maternity bra today, the women was excellent, my boobs haven't grown but she said this one will do me all through breastfeeding, I have to go back just before I'm due and she's going to convert it to one with the detachable cups with clips for breastfeeding

Julesbegone · 30/09/2017 20:01

@ew1990 no they don’t! Another strange one to add to the list.

Out of interest, where did you go to get measured?

ew1990 · 30/09/2017 20:07

It was somewhere in uppermill, called the bra spa, think she used to be a midwife, she doesn't even need to measure you she can tell by looking at you, I did get a telling off because the bras I've been wearing are no good when pregnant Blush

ew1990 · 30/09/2017 20:08

I say uppermill like you all know where it is lol, I have no idea where all you ladies live we could be miles and miles apart 😂

Squigglefish · 01/10/2017 00:00

@ew1990 hahaha!!
Eeeek I've had a bit of a fright tonight. We were out for a meal and I started to get very regular Braxton Hicks, they're were just a few minutes apart. I didn't want to freak out and luckily they've eased off a bit. Still going on now I'm in bed but they've not been getting worse so I'm trying not to overthink Shock

ew1990 · 01/10/2017 01:35

@Squigglefish hope your ok and they've calmed down

mrsjkerry · 01/10/2017 08:40

@Squigglefish you’ll have to keep us updated.

I have no idea if I’ve ever felt braxton Hicks...

OP posts:
TheLionQueen1 · 01/10/2017 09:02

@Squigglefish how are you doing now? I don't think I've had braxton hicks, I guess you'd know though so probably haven't!

@lydiangel83 hope you had a good baby shower!

My legs have started to ache like crazy, think it's because of swollen feet. I was in the bath at 2am this morning, nothing stops the bloody ache Sad

Squigglefish · 01/10/2017 09:37

Morning all, they did go away once I was in bed. This morning I feel a bit sick but I've not had anymore Braxton Hicks, thankfully. I'm putting it down to being out and probably having done too much over the weekend. Going to see how today goes because I'm supposed to be going out again for lunch.
Had the worst heartburn through the night too 😔
Hope everyone else is doing well.

Missonhartbaby · 01/10/2017 10:11

I haven't had any braxton hicks or tightening either at all, even though every thing I read says it's really common to have them. I'm hoping it means as soon as I feel anything like that itl be the real thing!

IrnBruCraver · 01/10/2017 13:03

I'm a first timer too. Literally found out yesterday and every little pain is freaking me out. I have cramps and am so scared I will come on my period. One online calculater says I am 4 weeks but that is impossible, another says 3 weeks but I would guess at 2 and a half. Just looking for some reassurance I guess that period pains are normal. I will be going to the doctor first thing tomorrow.

NC1990 · 01/10/2017 13:22

IrnBruCraver I had period-type cramps when I found out I was pregnant, usually they're nothing to worry about. If you've just found out you'll be roughly 4 weeks pregnant. I would check with your GP surgery first to see if you can self-refer to the midwife, less hassle that way and means you don't have to see a GP first. And congratulations on your pregnancy! Smile

TheLionQueen1 · 01/10/2017 13:23

Congrats @IrnBruCraver ! Are you counting from the day of your last period as that's how it's worked out, so you will be further ahead then you think!

I think we were all exactly the same! And you may get period pains and a small amount of blood as baby is implemented, try not to stress yourself as it's normal! Your doctor probably won't see you yet, mine had no interest just referred me to MW who saw me at 9 weeks, yours may but just to set your expectations!

IrnBruCraver · 01/10/2017 13:41

@NC1990 I will do that thank you!
@TheLionQueen1 yeah from the first day of my last period, wouldn't that mean I was pregnant when I was last on if it started on 2nd September? I'm so confused!

And thank you, I will see what they say. I have no idea how it all works but as soon as we found out my husband and I went out and bought a book and I have been swotting up on here as much as I can. I was shaking so hard when I got my two lines, I was ecstatic!

ScotsLamb · 01/10/2017 17:00

IrnBru once you find out your pregnant they count day 1 of pregnancy as the first day of your last period. It doesn't mean you were pregnant then but it's just a start point to measure the time.

lydiangel83 · 01/10/2017 19:11

Thanks @TheLionQueen1 had a lovely day tho was very puffy in ankles and face so look awful for photos! I have given up on any nice pregnant photos of me now!

@Squigglefish yes I have had that a lot, almost like convulsions but equally think it’s just movement patterns?!

Had NCT today was a bit underwhelmed by it all :-/

Julesbegone · 01/10/2017 20:52

Is anyone else having a flu jab?

Jessiecat27 · 01/10/2017 20:54

Jules I'll be getting mine done, I get it every year anyway because of my asthma

lydiangel83 · 01/10/2017 21:30

This may be too much info but I just tried perineal massage myself and hated it. Not even sure I was in the right place and lasted about 3 seconds! Anyone else tried it? I’m really terrified of nasty tears as have heard some horror stories

Jessiecat27 · 01/10/2017 21:40

*lydia I'm looking into buying the oil, did you use a specific one? I've read horror stories too but I have no idea what I'm doing or if it even helps!

ew1990 · 01/10/2017 21:47

Lydia is never heard of it - just googled it doesn't sound very nice, did it burn/tingle?

TheLionQueen1 · 01/10/2017 21:56

@lydiangel83 I've been using it for 5 weeks, shouldn't be uncomfortable or sting? Literally just rubbing oil on your perinium? I'm doing it every other day and the pelvic flaw exercise.

People I know have sworn by using it so thought it was worth a shot!

Bobbiepin · 01/10/2017 22:23

@lionqueen my nct woman made it out to be a bit more than that. You've gotta get your thumbs right in (if you get my drift) and push quite firmly. I've been intending on doing it but never getting round to it. @lydiangel I think its meant to be easier after a bath.
