I can't wait to see everyone's babies, I love a squashy newborn pic!

I set the moses basket up today, it's starting to feel real now!

34 weeks and baby feels like a watermelon between my legs Confused

mrsjkerry · 29/09/2017 21:17

@ew1990 I haven’t been tagged and can’t find it..

Nevermind. Found it 🙄😄

I can't find it?
This will be my last one too, here since day one, can't believe how fast it's gone! 10 days left for me Confused

ew1990 · 29/09/2017 22:39

It's in the pregnancy topic.

This might be my last thread too - I'm 34 weeks tomorrow and joined this thread back when I was 5 weeks! It's gone so fast.

ScotsLamb · 29/09/2017 22:45

28 weeks on Sunday.
I can't believe it's only 12 weeks to go. I think of how quickly the time went from "hopefully last period for a long time" to having our 12 week scan.
I'm still surprised when I see my bump in a mirror or window.

mrsjkerry · 30/09/2017 04:57

All I want is a good nights sleep. But I haven’t slept well in what feels like months. Belly cramped. Heartburn. Nausea....nerves!

OP posts:
TheLionQueen1 · 30/09/2017 05:56

Same @mrsjkerry teamed up with needing to go for a wee every 30 mins to an hour!

mrsjkerry · 30/09/2017 07:11

Isn’t it terrible! How much longer do you think you’ve got @TheLionQueen1 ? I’m 34+2 and not sure I can go on like this for potentially 8 weeks!

OP posts:
TheLionQueen1 · 30/09/2017 07:18

I've got 10 days left today until due date, am booked in at MW on due date for sweep if nothing has happened so hoping not too long but obviously could be up to another 10 days after that (that's how far they'll let you go in our area before induction!)

I can cope with 10 days but the thought it could actually be double that is awful!!

I found it easier once mat leave started as you can catch up on sleep during the day so you don't tend to care as much! When do you start? God knows how you are managing to teach kids all day with barely any sleep, really feel for all you teachers!!

lydiangel83 · 30/09/2017 08:16

Joining the no sleep bus, not much fun! My friend stayed with her 2 year old last night who is lovely boy, but then took 1.5 hrs to settle for bed. How does one keep their patience during that time?! I was stressed just waiting for her so that we could have the dessert that I’d made! Cannot cope with that every day!

lydiangel83 · 30/09/2017 08:17

@TheLionQueen1 interesting they sweep on your due date, 38 wks is standard in my area and I thought that was silly but now I’m thinking it may not be. Couldn’t sleep because even my legs ache too much, may ask for sweep at 39 wks. Whilst uncomfortable at least now starting Mat leave so not st Work/ commuting

TheLionQueen1 · 30/09/2017 08:26

@lydiangel83 wow 38 weeks is really early!! I thought 40 weeks was as a lot of NHS trusts won't do it until 41+

I had said I didn't want a sweep and would rather let things progress naturally but now I'm getting so close I'm thinking let them crack on and sweep away Grin

Bet you're relieved to start mat leave! I've just finished my third week of mat leave, it's been great but getting a bit boring as I can't do much now because of my blood pressure.

I've got my baby shower today, looking forward to that!

lydiangel83 · 30/09/2017 09:26

@TheLionQueen1 also baby shower today but knackered and friends toddler who we have had overnight is relentless. I’m not sure I can cope with that and he is an amazing kid

TheLionQueen1 · 30/09/2017 09:30

Have a lovely time @lydiangel83 !

I think the tolerance you have with your own kids is better, or at least I hope it is as I still go mad when I hear babies screaming in restaurants 😂

lydiangel83 · 30/09/2017 09:52

And you too @TheLionQueen1 :-)

lydiangel83 · 30/09/2017 09:56

This seems relevant

Ooh baby showers are lovely, enjoy everyone. I'm on my way to a hen party, slightly different. Thankfully the hen is ok with me bailing out before cocktails and karaoke! I hate karaoke even when I'm drunk so there's no way I'm doing it pregnant and sober!!

Jessiecat27 · 30/09/2017 10:40

Hi ladies, haven't been on here in a while! 33+1 now and I can't remember what sleep feels like! Any tips for achy/cramps legs of a morning? I don't maternity leave until I'm 37 weeks but I feel like that's so far away

NC1990 · 30/09/2017 12:06

I feel the same Jessiecat27, 33 weeks and still 4 weeks left at work 😭 seems such a short period of time in theory but dragging myself out of bed when I'm exhausted from lack of sleep is taking its toll. I find falling asleep fine but I always waken several times through the night.

Has anyone managed to agree on a name/shortlist of names? We still have ages to decide and I don't want to commit completely to one till she's born but nothing feels 'right' atm...

ew1990 · 30/09/2017 13:23

@NC1990 we've picked a name, had it quite a while - it was one we both said at the same time after what felt like hours saying names at each other

THirdEeye · 30/09/2017 13:37

I've lurked but haven't commented recently.

I hear you all about the heartburn and disturbed sleep 😴. I wake up with backache, I'm okay if I move but sitting laying down can be really uncomfortable.

I had a bleed and was admitted to hospital for a week...scary, but baby is fine thankfully. I'm 35 weeks now, was signed off work (been off for three weeks) but start maternity leave on Monday (I'm thankful l had a very understanding headteacher).

Has anyone started any antenatal classes?

I still need to book something 🤔

ew1990 · 30/09/2017 13:52

@THirdEeye I had mine last weekend - only the NHS one but I found it really good

ScotsLamb · 30/09/2017 14:38

I think I'm getting carpal tunnel. I've woken up twice in a week with tingly fingers.
Any hints or tips?

Squigglefish · 30/09/2017 15:13

@ScotsLamb I've read its common, i've been getting uncomfortable aching hands every morning.

Has anyone (probably third trimester people) felt their baby almost quivering? Not hiccups, it's like she's shivering. I refuse to Google!😊
