TheLionQueen1 · 01/03/2018 14:25

She's gorgeous @MistyBxx Huge congratulations!

Sounds like you really went through it! Hope you're starting to recover well and have got some sleep!

lindali94 · 01/03/2018 15:33

That was very interesting times. God will help you girls! : )

MistyBxx · 02/03/2018 01:53

Turns out I couldn't go home Wednesday, my bloods were far too low so needed blood transfusion 😩🙈 bloody hell. Finally came home today. It's been a wake up call lol I managed fine in the hospital for 4 days and nights just me and her but being home with rich and the whole house is really intimidating and I'm struggling to find my feet! Look at my view though 😍😍😍 she is luscious isn't she?!? Thanks for all your lovely comments.

Currently on Amazon searching breast pumps! I can't handle the abuse my nips are going through right now, Sienna has a ferocious latch and it's shredding me. Favourite pumps girls??x

Bobbiepin · 02/03/2018 02:18

I lost this thread for ages and find it again to see this @mistybxx I've got tears in my eyes, you absolute bloody hero!! That sounds so traumatic and after everything you've been through. Sienna is beautiful, I'm so happy for you.

Also I couldn't get on with expressing but everyone tols me medela pumps are the best.

@flatwhite good luck for the scan, let us know how it goes.

mrsjkerry · 02/03/2018 09:34

@MistyBxx I used medela in the hospital and bought their double swing one when I got out. It was great.

Hey girlies, Sienna is 9 days old now and I'm in the clutches of the baby blues. Don't think I've gone a day without crying. Midwife is going to refer me to someone to make sure it doesn't get worse, which I'm totally open to. Looking after my mental health is important!
Also... I'm really struggling to poo 😂🙈 its actual hell. I've been twice in 9 days. The first one after the birth took 4 days to appear and I was crying my eyes out!
The second one was about 2 days ago (I don't always go every day anyway) and now I need to go again but my god, my downstairs is not feeling up to it. My flaps feel really heavy! When I sit on the loo, I feel like my whole insides are gonna fall out my vag 😖 the last couple of times I didn't feel like this, I was just conscious of my stitches, but this time, the pressure is immense. I can feel the poo there, it wants to come out but I can't even do a tiny push coz I swear my stitches will burst open! So I'm in this horrid bloated uncomfortable situation where I can feel poo ready to go but can't do it, can't sit tidy, can't get up and down from the chair properly!
Christ I don't feel like my body has had a break since birth! When will I start feeling better girls 😭xx

ew1990 · 07/03/2018 19:47

Misty try leaning forward when your on the toilet if you haven't already, fresh orange juice always makes me go, I felt sore down there but it started to feel normal again after about 4 weeks.

Bobbiepin · 07/03/2018 21:59

Take some lactulose too, will make things softer (not too soft, laxatives are a bad idea) and easier to pass. Also putting your feet on a little stool (pun not intended) to raise them up will help. Some people told me to hold a maternity pad over your stitches, I guess to push back up but I never tried that.

You're doing great, be kind to yourself. Are you eating ok? Getting any sleep?

mrsjkerry · 08/03/2018 02:28

@MistyBxx I was in hospital for a week because Baby was ill and they just gave me laxatives when I said I couldn't poo.

OP posts:
TheLionQueen1 · 08/03/2018 10:27

@MistyBxx I didn't struggle to go but it does feel like your insides are falling out! They aren't don't worry!! I did what Bobbie said and held a sanitary towel against it whilst going made it a lot more comfortable and like nothing could escape!! Hope you're doing ok, I cried randomly for about 2 months, I swear it's the lack of sleep more than anything! Thanks

MistyBxx · 08/03/2018 10:33

Thanks girls. It doesn't help that after the blood loss, they've put me on iron tablets for a month. I've been on iron tablets through half my pregnancy and they're awful for constipation, I'm actually going to stop taking them for a while because it's really making things difficult 🙈 I've done the holding thing... it's just the pressure, it feels so heavy down there! Awful. I can't wait for all this to feel better! Everyone says how special and amazing these first few weeks are... I'm running on vimto and kitkats, getting about 3 hours sleep a night (separately!) and facing endless washing and tidying 😂 this is certainly mum life! I'm enjoying but I will be glad when I feel a bit more settled xx

Bobbiepin · 08/03/2018 12:51

Oh ignore those people! The first few weeks are so difficult. I cried every day for weeks and genuinely questioned whether having a baby was the right decision. Yes the sleepy cuddles are lovely and their heads smell delicious but those moments will continue (4 month DD is currently asleep in the sling). Be kind to yourself in those first few weeks/months and don't feel guilty if you don't love every minute.

mrsjkerry · 08/03/2018 18:23

I am still crying a lot. I think it's because husband works long hours, I'm alone with baby some days 13/14 hours. On lack of sleep and a suspected milk allergy it's not great!!!

OP posts:
TheLionQueen1 · 08/03/2018 20:52

My DS is lactose intolerant @mrsjkerry I feel your pain, although fortunately it was sorted really quickly and he's been on special formula since he was 2 months old and so much better. Hope it gets sorted for you both soon.

I've just come off iron tablets for blood loss at 5 months after baby born and I'm still amused that my poo is a normal colour @MistyBxx 😂 It's very odd having black poo for so long!! Sorry TMI but amuses me!!

Flatwhite32 · 08/03/2018 20:58

Oh @MistyBxx I'm not surprised you're tearful. You had such a hard time with the birth too. I can imagine the first few weeks must be so hard. Just think that if your body went through some sort of trauma, you'd be advised to rest loads, but you just can't do that with a newborn. I couldn't go to the toilet for days after my ERPC following my MMC last year, and was crying my eyes out! I was abroad as well, and just couldn't bear to look up laxative in Italian! Lol! I hope you get some relief soon.

Bobbiepin · 08/03/2018 21:52

Good to see your name pop up @flatwhite32, how are you doing?

mrsjkerry · 09/03/2018 21:08

@TheLionQueen1 which formula is he on? It is horrific and it's taken my weeks to convince the GP it's not just reflux and eczema. She's still not 100% and it breaks my heart to hear her crying and crying

OP posts:
WasThatPlaceTHESUN · 09/03/2018 21:13

@mrsjkerry I feel for you, I have been in tears today as DH has been away the last couple of nights and I'm so, so tired it's ridiculous. DD has hit the 4-month sleep regression and it's killing me, I was sobbing with exhaustion at 6.30 this morning 🙈

This will pass...right? 😬

WasThatPlaceTHESUN · 09/03/2018 21:14

PS I have name-,changed from NC1990!

ew1990 · 09/03/2018 21:15

I wondered who it was! 🙈 so sorry to hear people are having a bad time,

@MistyBxx how are you know regarding bowels? Hope your settling Into motherhood well
