@MistyBxx those growth scans are silly. They told me my baby weighed 8lb when I was 35 weeks but she came out at 41+3 weighing 7lb15oz. Don't stress!!

Hey girlies, so it's my due date!! 10/02/18... the date I've been looking forward to for so long! And absolutely nothing is happening 😂 even had sex this morning (for the first time in months!) been bouncing on my birth ball, went walking loads last week (it's hammering down with rain today) eaten loads of pineapple. No sign of movement 😞 I can cope until today! But now I'm like... I want her to hurry up 😞 xx

ew1990 · 10/02/2018 17:50

@MistyBxx sleep sleep and sleep some more, I so wish I'd slept more in the 2 weeks of maternity before DD came, good luck and keep us updated x

MistyBxx · 12/02/2018 00:26

Now officially 40+2 and no sign of any movement 😬 got consultant tomorrow and will be having a sweep. Very nervous 😩 managed to convince hubby to have sex on Saturday and it hurt like hell coz nothing had been up there for so long so I'm dreading someone's hand going up there tomorrow!! Can anyone ease my sweep nerves? Is it genuinely a fisting from a doctor 🙈😩 or is it not much worse than a smear? I'm scared. Only thing I think is if sex hurt, what the hell is a baby coming out going to feel like!? Maybe the sweep will stretch me?? Gahhh I hate after-midnight anxieties 😖😓

ew1990 · 12/02/2018 00:42

@misty we had not done the deed for months when I had my sweep (only just now and DD is 14 weeks old!) honestly it's just like a smear, not painful just a bit uncomfortable, they will just sweep your cervix with fingers - take a pad coz I bleed afterwards, not loads just brown and it didn't last long, xxx

ew1990 · 12/02/2018 00:44

And with childbirth I found the contractions worse than the crowing, but that might have been coz I was induced on the hormone drip - the relief when I wanted to push was immense

ew1990 · 12/02/2018 00:44

Crowning not crowing 😂

mrsjkerry · 12/02/2018 22:59

Am I ever going to sleep again 😩

ew1990 · 12/02/2018 23:34

You ok @mrsjkerry

MistyBxx · 13/02/2018 00:24

Well I was MEANT to have a sweep today but she couldn't do it coz my cervix just isn't anywhere near ready. She had a feel around up there and it was killing, she said I may as well just stop thinking about it coz I'm just gonna stress myself out and my body just isn't ready any time soon. She said make plans, go out for lunch, see your friends and go do what you want coz sitting at home is pointless, I'm not ready and baby isn't coming. And then she said but you could go home and then your waters could break tonight! There's really no telling. I'm trying not to feel disappointed but it's hard 😞I'm down for 2 more sweeps in the next 10 days and if that doesn't work... induction on 22nd 😬😖 I REALLY don't want to be induced so I have to do everything I can this week to get her moving naturally! But how do I do that without thinking too much about it or stressing myself out somehow 🙈 can't help feeling crappy though. Oh and I've got thrush so I don't think sex is a good idea now either. Thrush could be because of the group b strep, I'm getting treatment tomorrow so I'm like... do I want to give birth with thrush anyway? Or would it be better to wait til that clears to try and bring her on? I'm so confused and frustrated 😞 hope you girlies are ok!xxx

ew1990 · 13/02/2018 00:44

Aww misty what a shame! She will soon be here don't worry. Have some warm baths and walk lots, I've heard being on all 4 (cleaning floors and skirting boards if that makes sense) has helped some people,

We are doing ok - DD has just blown her first raspberry about half an hour ago and then was dead chuffed with herself so only just got her settled 🙄 x

AmandaJ1995 · 13/02/2018 02:47

First pregnancy 36+2

mrsjkerry · 13/02/2018 04:07

@MistyBxx same happened to me with the sweep. I know it seems an eternity but Baby will be here before you know it! I promise

MistyBxx · 14/02/2018 15:26

Thanks girlies. 40+4 now. Just booked a salon appointment for a massage on Friday and also bought some raspberry leaf tea so I'm in a win-win situation 😂 if baby comes... great... if she doesn't... massage 😍x x

mrsjkerry · 15/02/2018 03:28

Sooooo close! My contractions started at 41 weeks. Good luck!!! So excited to hear you've had her!

OP posts:
MistyBxx · 17/02/2018 18:01

Well I'm officially 41 weeks today. And I feel absolutely no different than I did at 40 weeks or even 36,37 weeks to be honest 😓 bump still high, I've had no show/plug, no more BHs than normal, no periody crampy pains or backache. Slight increase in discharge but that could be coz of the thrush (which I had a pessary for so am hoping it's cleared up.) This week I have bounced on my ball every day, eaten so much pineapple my mouth feels burnt, drinking 3 strong cups of raspberry leaf tea a day, started taking evening primrose oil, had sex (only this morning though coz I wanted to wait til the thrush had gone!) I've been on walks, eaten curry, I've done everything. All the old wives tales are b*llocks 😂😂 for me anyway. I'm running out of options and out of time for a natural birth. I've got til Wednesday for her to make an appearance herself... before the induction begins Thursday. It's nice knowing when I go into hospital Thursday morning that I won't be coming out til baby is born, but what I'm going to go through is what scares me! The medication, the 'forcing' of the body to go into labour, arghhh I've heard so many horror stories of people ending up with emergency sections and all sorts 🙈 I don't care what they have to do as long as my baby is safe BUT I'd just soooo rather her make a move herself if you know what I mean 😐 any positive vibes welcome lol xx

MistyBxx · 17/02/2018 18:03

Also got a sweep Monday as last Monday's sweep was a failure. But if this Monday she says exactly the same, that my cervix hasn't ripened at all and that I'm still not ready to even be swept, I'm a bit scared I'm going to have a meltdown lol xx

ew1990 · 17/02/2018 20:58

@MistyBxx I was induced with hormone drip and even though the contractions hurt I got through it and so will you! Hoping she makes an appearance soon xxx

mrsjkerry · 18/02/2018 08:25

@MistyBxx I had a failed sweep on 14 November (Tuesday). Cervix too high up and too far back apparently. On 16 November (Thursday) I started losing mucus plug and contractions started. It can happen any time!

OP posts:
MistyBxx · 19/02/2018 17:19

Sooooo had midwife today at 40+9 and she couldn't do a sweep AGAIN!! It was this midwife who is known to be quite "forceful" with the sweeps and is known to get babies out so I was excited it was her. It was painful but not as bad as I thought. I wasn't as tense as I was last week. BUT not even she can move my baby! She could feel her head 💗and said that she's nice and low but that my cervix is posterior and is behind the baby's head too far so she can't reach far enough to do the sweep properly 😩 she noted it was still "firm, long and thick" so all my bouncing, pineapple, tea, sex and walking has been for sweet FA, baby has lowered a bit but literally no ripening of my cervix at all! It's firmly closed. She's booked me for one more try of a sweep on Wednesday morning, but if that doesn't work, admit defeat and just accept I'll be induced 😩so disappointed 😔 x x

ew1990 · 19/02/2018 18:49

There's still time! You'll know by the end of the week your little girl will be here, won't be long now xx

mrsjkerry · 20/02/2018 21:52

@MistyBxx how exciting I check everyday for news from you! She will be here by the end of the week!!!!!

I'm about five weeks gone with my first pregnancy! Very much unplanned (contraceptive failure), but now I've had time to get over the shock I couldn't be happier! Grin

SpongeCake23 · 20/02/2018 22:02

This is my first pregnancy and I'm 6 weeks and 5 days according to my LMP but I think I'm less than that in reality.
I keep feeling cramps like AF and had some pinkish spotting earlier today so I'm really on edge Sad

MistyBxx · 20/02/2018 23:01

Thanks @mrsjkerry 💗 got a final attempt at a sweep tomorrow morning and then accept induction Thursday. No doubt I will be updating you!! Sooner rather than later would be nice!!xx
