Oh @Flatwhite32 that's so lush to see!!! I'm so pleased for you 💗 Trust me, you may never feel totally out of the woods but every week is a milestone and you will feel better as time goes on.
I went on holiday at 23 weeks and was fine. You get on that plane and enjoy!! Keep us posted!
As for me, I'm suffering so bad with carpal tunnel in my wrists and basically everything hurts top to toe lol. I'm 36 weeks today! So excited for my girl 💗
@mrsjkerry hope all is ok with you!! And @ew1990 and everyone else xxx

TheLionQueen1 · 14/01/2018 08:18

Congratulations @Victoriaaaaaaaa she's gorgeous! And so happy for you to see that @Flatwhite32 , congratulations! Enjoy your break whilst you can!!

SoaksAndNaps · 14/01/2018 10:04

Hi everyone!!! So glad I found this thread as I am a first time mum too! I'm currently 23+6 due on the 7th May! So nice to be reading everyone's journey so far! X

MistyBxx · 22/01/2018 15:54

Hi all, hope you're all good!
I'm 37+2 today and went to midwife who felt my belly and marked me down as 2/5 into the pelvis!
I got excited/terrified like omg am I gonna go early?
Tried googling but finding mixed results! Does 2/5 mean they can feel 2 x fifths of the baby's head left OUT of the pelvis OR that only 2 x fifths are engaged IN the pelvis?

NC1990 · 22/01/2018 16:03

Wow Misty, you are so close now! 2/5 engaged means 2/5 of the head is down in the pelvis, and would be the same as 3/5 palpable I believe (meaning the midwife can feel 3/5 of the head). I was 2/5 engaged when I had my midwife appointment at 37+6 and gave birth a week later at 38+6, but I'm not sure it necessarily means you'll go early, it seems to vary a lot. Good luck for the next few weeks Smile

MistyBxx · 22/01/2018 16:15

Oh wow @NC1990 that's mad! No, these babes will come when they're ready and we can put things together and think "oh it was because of this and just after that" when really, they may have just been fully cooked and ready 😂
I don't necessarily WANT her to come early, I'm sure she could chub up a little bit more yet over the next few weeks lol but I still haven't packed my hospital bag or finished all my mountains of baby clothes washing etc, so trying to gage how much time I've got left to get everything ready!
Well, I've GOT everything but need to sort it all out and pack it all etc!xx

ew1990 · 22/01/2018 19:44

@MistyBxx I was 2/5 engaged at 38+2 and I was induced when I was 38+6 so I haven't a clue wether she would've come early or late but I did have a sweep when I was 38+2 but didn't do anything. Hopefully you won't have to wait much longer to meet your little lady

MistyBxx · 22/01/2018 20:18

Why did you have to be induced @ew1990 ??x

ew1990 · 22/01/2018 20:45

They said they weren't happy with her growth it was slowing down, she was 8 days early and still weighed 6lb 7. I'm not big myself a size 8 and didn't put weight on apart from the bump, and I weighed 4lb1 at full term

MistyBxx · 22/01/2018 21:45

Oh I see! Small doesn't necessarily mean unhealthy does it. Well I've always been size 10-12 and I've always struggled with my weight and at midwife today they weighed me, I've put on 3 stone 😖😭 I know I'm pregnant but I really didn't want to put on so much. I can't stop eating though, I'm hungry and I'm not denying myself anything so it's my own fault lol but 3 bloody stone?!?! Gahhh 😖

ew1990 · 22/01/2018 22:23

I put on 2 stone don't know where though, now my boobs and bum have literally disappeared 🙄 3 week ago she weighed 10lb I'm getting her weighed again tomorrow so she's putting weight on well

Don't worry about the weight your growing a little baba.

I'm in the bath and can hear her crying downstairs, OH is doing his silly voices to her so hopefully she'll settle soon

MistyBxx · 22/01/2018 22:53

Ah bless 😍 does she cry loads? Are you boob or bottle? How are you finding the feeding, either way?

I know, I don't really mind the weight, it's just hard going on my body, my hips, knees and ankles are really painful, my thighs tremble when I stand up, and if I have to get down on the floor for anything, god help, it takes ages to get up again. Turning over in bed is very painful, and I can really feel the strain the weight is putting on my bod! So it will be nice to lose a bit just to feel better in myself, I'm constantly out of puff!! 😂

ew1990 · 22/01/2018 22:59

I did breastfeed for the first week and I feel incredibly guilty (i think about it all the time) that I put her on formula after a week, I was exhausted, I very nearly fainted but managed to get to the sofa and sit down. I tell myself that I would rather her be bottle fed and here than breastfed and god forbid something terrible happen as I was falling asleep sat up while feeding her.

She's a good baby doesn't really cry unless she wants a bottle it is overtired, she's turning into a little person we have full on conversations, just coo ing and that but she loves it, her face lights up when she sees us.

These past 2 bottles she's drained 7oz so gunna have to make her 8oz now

mrsjkerry · 23/01/2018 05:46

My baby was engaged for weeks. She didn't come till 41+3!

@MistyBxx you're not Alone. I gained 5 stone !!! And I so remember how achey being pregnant was. Not long now!

OP posts:
MistyBxx · 23/01/2018 10:11

Oh @ew1990 don't feel guilty!! I love the idea of breastfeeding and I'm desperate to do it, I keep dreaming about it lol my biggest fear is that I don't have milk! I haven't leaked at all, I don't notice any stains on my bras, I'm scared I'm empty and my girl will be hungry and sucking and nothing comes out 😭😭😭
You did it for a week so she got all the important stuff from your immune system etc!! You did the right thing, tiredness or rather exhaustion like that is dangerous for you and her, like you say, you could have fallen, dozed off, dropped her, anything 🙈🙈🙈 don't beat yourself up over it!
And she sounds like she's demolishing her food so she's obviously happy 😍
I'm so excited girls, but I'm happy to wait. I wrote a thread on mumsnet yesterday about the head thing and everyone is like "nope you've got a while yet, sorry!!!" And I'm like... don't be all smug telling me I've got ages to wait lol I don't want her to come early 😂 I'm not 100% ready yet! I just don't want her to come toooo late 🙈 one is like "they'll come when they're ready!" And I'm like... I bloody know that lol I was worried she was going to come early when I'm not ready!
How is everything with you guys @mrsjkerry? Pregnancy aches and pains are really getting me down but the end is in sight 😍x x

ew1990 · 23/01/2018 13:18

Thank you @MistyBxx she weighs 11lb15oz now!!

She likes the tele! This is her leave me alone the teles on face

NC1990 · 23/01/2018 14:39

@ew1990 my 'little' toot was 12lbs 13oz when she was weighed last week and she's a week younger than your DD 😳🙈 she's piling on the rolls!

@MistyBxx my midwife told me in all her years working with pregnant women she has only ever had ONE whose milk didn't come in, so don't worry about your baby not getting any. My milk was late coming in and my poor lo dropped loads of weight but she soon shot back up (as you can see from her current weight 😁).

MistyBxx · 23/01/2018 15:56

That's good to know. A friend told me today that under wired bras can stop it and I've always been quite small on top so use under wired, padded, push up and gels constantly! They've grown a bit during pregnancy and I could probably do with going up a cup and back-strap size but I haven't bothered, and now I'm worrying I've done something 🙈
I hope I will be ok! Your midwife story is reassuring @NC1990 and your LO is obviously feeding well 😂
And @ew1990 those cheeks 😍😍😍 I could just squish them lol xx

ew1990 · 23/01/2018 17:07

@NC1990 ooh! I just love the rolls though!

@MistyBxx you'll be fine, just remember to look after yourself and sleep when you can, housework etc takes a back step!

MistyBxx · 02/02/2018 21:01

Hi girlies, I am 39 weeks tomorrow!! To say I'm nervous is an understatement 😂 I've just had my ears hopi candled today, that was lovely. I've got a pedicure tomorrow, a bump photoshoot on Monday morning and midwife in the afternoon, eyelash tinting on Tuesday then CHILL OUT and wait for my girl to make a move 😂🙈
Her hospital bag is ready, mine is ready except for last minute items.
Just want to get to Tuesday now, get all my appointments etc out of the way, then I'm gonna get on the pineapple 😂🙌🏼
Hope you're all good :) xx

ew1990 · 02/02/2018 21:09

Ahh exciting, I wish I would've done all the pamper things before! I always couldn't wait to get back into my nice dresses and skirts when in reality now I wear leggings and whatever top doesn't need ironing, 😂 you'll be fine misty! Can't wait to see pictures, I'm honestly over the moon for you

MistyBxx · 02/02/2018 21:55

Awww thanks @ew1990 oh I know, I had some vouchers for Christmas so I thought sod it, I'm gonna treat myself while I still can coz I won't get another chance for about 18 years lol 😜
She's going mad in my belly every night now. Her kicks and movements are actually quite painful sometimes, it feels like she's really pressing down in there and I get very tight across my tum and sharp almost wind-like pains. It first started last week, and I had a panic thinking info this is it 😂 but it's not 😂 it's BH I think!
But keep an eye out on the thread coz no doubt I will be updating here when it all properly kicks off! Or after at least lol x

mrsjkerry · 03/02/2018 11:48

@MistyBxx I'm always checking for your updates! Can't wait to hear you've had your little girl!

OP posts:
MistyBxx · 06/02/2018 21:05

Hey girlies, still here! No movement yet!
Had a really stressful day yesterday 😖Found out I've got group b strep! I looked into it myself and did my own research and paid privately for a test and I'm glad I did, coz I've got it. It's changed my care now, with 4 days to go, I've been transferred from midwife led care to consultant care and have to have IV antibiotics throughout labour and delivery to make sure my baby doesn't pick it up. Scary. So glad I found out I had it though.
Then I had a midwife appt where they said my bump is too small and sent me for a growth scan! So I was panicking again, but they say she's the right size and weighs about 7lbs! Measurements must have just been wrong.
She hasn't engaged any more than she was last time 2/5. I've got consultant appt on Monday morning and they'll probably give me a sweep then too. I'd rather go before that though lol. So I went for a cold walk with my friend earlier and I've eaten a load of pineapple tonight. But no sign of any movement!!
Any hints for hurrying her along?? Don't bother saying sex, my husband won't touch me and hasn't for weeks 😂 he thinks he's king mega-member, and is convinced he will be poking the baby so no chance of sexy time 🙈
Hope you're all good :) xx
