Utter, very sorry to read your news about your boy. I agree with everyone else that you sound impressively composed at this time. All thoughts and best wishes to you and your little girl. Take things as easy as you can Flowers

Hazandduck · 01/12/2017 18:32

I’m so sorry for the loss of your son @utter, my thoughts go out to you and your family. I will be thinking of you in the next week and your baby girl. Your attitude is astonishing, you seem so brave and strong. Xx

Hazandduck · 01/12/2017 18:35

@AmyB your little Eliza looks lovely, my little girl is 2 weeks old today and is booked to have her tongue tie cut on Monday. Hats off to you feeding for 8 weeks with one, I’ve found it incredibly hard but the last 4 days or so it has definitely become more natural although she’s cluster feeding so exhausted, ever since a Midwife showed me the ‘rugby ball position’ where you put Baby under your armpit and feed that way I’ve not been crying in pain. You’ve probably already tried it, but if you haven’t it worked wonders for me. They say it’s a great position for tongue tie babies to feed. X

INeedABiggerBoat · 01/12/2017 19:01

Oh Utter what heartbreaking news. I'm so sorry, I can't even imagine how you and your DH must be feeling, and for you to write such a brave message, thinking of others, is just awe-inspiring. Will be thinking of all four of you next week.

hotcookie · 01/12/2017 19:14

Utter I am so sorry to hear your news, and wish you a safe delivery of him & your wee girl

mammabear4 · 01/12/2017 19:16

Utter I am so, so sorry. I can’t imagine what you must be going through and at the same time managing to stay so strong for your little girl. You are so right that this was the best way for him to depart peacefully. Sending lots of love 💔

I’m currently in hospital facing an overnight stay. Waters broke last night at 3am and I mean absolutely gushed out. 35 weeks today. No contractions as of yet so fingers crossed things progress soon! Please everyone send us positive vibes that things will move along!

Also - MASSIVE congrats to those who have had fab news at their scans and birthed beautiful babies! I’m so sorry to do a generic message of love but I’ve been awake since midnight with only 2 hours prior to that and cannot focus properly 😫😴

NoParticularPattern · 01/12/2017 20:07

Oh utter I’m so sorry about your little boy. It must be so hard for you at the moment. I will be thinking of you over the next weeks, I really hope everything goes smoothly for you now. Sending you lots of love.

utter I was so sorry to read your message. I’ve been following your journey with your twins and had everything crossed for you. Your pragmatism and bravery shine through in your posts. I hope everything goes as well as possible until your c section.

mamma if your waters are gone will they induce? How exciting that it’s all starting! I hope your DH is Home!

Hazandduck · 01/12/2017 23:28

Thinking of you @mammabear! Hope your labour has progressed! Xx

zaalitje · 02/12/2017 13:38

I took myself away from the thread again for a few days, otherwise I start to obsess.

utter so sorry to hear your news, hoping for a safe delivery for your little girl.

I have found somewhere that will do a private cervical length scans at 16 weeks, but no earlier

I'm getting concerned again, my ivf meds are finishing over the next day or so having tapered down and I'm worried that they are all that is keeping me pregnant.

I've noticed that my sex drive has suddenly very much reappeared which has me very worried as it means hormones have shifted somehow.

Also I'm also having cramps like just before my period, central lower abdomen. I wish I could see just a coupleof weeks into the future, it's driving me crazy and I'm so sure it's not going to work out this time, I'm just waiting for the bad news.

Ekphrasis · 02/12/2017 13:52

Zaa - how far are you now? My sex drive went through the roof as I neared the second trimester. I think it’s all the hormones that rise in that trimester.

zaalitje · 02/12/2017 13:54

Just over 14 weeks.
Good to hear someone else had the same.

LisaSimpsonsbff · 02/12/2017 13:56

I've never been that pregnant, but I feel like it's a known thing that some women get an increased sex drive in their second trimester - I think it was a joke on Friends?!

Ekphrasis · 02/12/2017 14:35

Zaa, that was definitely around the stage it was noticeably increased. Blush

Thanks for your replies.

lisa I've never been this pregnant before either, furthest previously was around 8 weeks.

Every change in my body freaks me out, the same as symptoms drop-off. The unknown is a scarey place but I can't believe I'm lucky enough to have got this far.

bexiboopz · 02/12/2017 15:48

So sorry about your son @AnUtterIdiot.
I'm having a nightmare day, finally got a day off work and I'm beyond exhausted, been getting pains and spot of bleeding but because my mw still hasn't booked me in (I'm almost 9weeks by my dates) I can't ask her for advice and I phoned dr out of hours but they told me to wait until Monday (I'll be back in work so can't) I'm getting super nervous. Hubs thinks I'm just working too much

utter that’s really good news, that’s tomorrow! You’ll be meeting your little girl soon. I hope it all goes as well as can be expected.

bexi as utter said I’d go to the Gp. Or even if they hadn’t booked me in Id ring the midwives (mine have a community office), and it’s just a phone call to refer you. When I had bleeding at 9 weeks I was in the EPAU the same morning.

mammabear4 · 03/12/2017 07:14

utter how exciting!!! We could be having our babies within days of each other! Here’s my update! Bit of an anticlimax from this end - I was sent home last night with antibiotics and thermometers to keep an eye on temp. Was so pleased though as I’d had 3 hours sleep in 3 days and managed 10-6 last night! Definitely refreshed! I’d gone into hosp Friday lunch time, was checked over and no signs of infection. Waters def gone. Given antibiotics to stave off infection and steroid injections Friday night/sat morning for babies’ lungs. Then Saturday was free to wander about, went into town and met my DM and DD for lunch. Few twinges but nada. They said because all happy and healthy fine to go home, will give up to 96 hours. It’s been over 48 now! Have to go and see a consultant Monday to discuss where to go from here. I’m ok with induction if nothing has kick started by then so fingers crossed we have a few new thread arrivals by midweek!! 😁 going for a looong walk today and getting bouncing on my ball. I so hope these twinges progress into something more! Induction is more preferable (to me) than section BUT still both breech and if they’re forced out early breech babies can get more distressed than cephalic babies - big thing about breech delivery is that it needs to be on their own terms for it to go well. But so glad they’re happy for me to have a normal breech delivery (taking into consideration my previous straightforward delivery and knowing my pelvis is able to birth a baby safely ie has been through it before.) They also said at the end of the day it’s my choice and they have been amazingly supportive of my natural preferences, we’ve come to some compromises obviously as a premature, breech twin birth is not going to be a walk in the park (no water birth as need to be more closely monitored) but they’re comfortable with everything being more hands off and I’m happy with all the compromises. Phew all those months of worrying for nothing! 😅 and so sorry for the looong post!!

LisaSimpsonsbff · 03/12/2017 13:29

Wishing you both really well for the coming week, utter and mamma - will be thinking of you and hoping everything goes as smoothly as it possibly can

minniemouseears · 03/12/2017 16:20

@utter devastated for the loss of your little boy will be thinking of you and your family and your little girl who got to play beside her gardian angel all these months, he will play beside her always I think. Xxxx massive hugs xxxx

brogueish · 03/12/2017 18:17

Wishing you all the very best for tomorrow, utter!

GreyCloudsToday · 03/12/2017 19:28

Utter I am so profoundly sorry for the loss of your son. You must be having so many feelings right now. I hope your section will go smoothly and safely and bring your babies into the world Flowers

Good luck for your new arrivals too Mammabear!

I hope everything's good Zaa and that you're staying sane x

I had a scan today at 7+4 and it all looked good, bar a small bleed. The radiographer said it is common and doesn't look too big, so fingers crossed. Getting dangerously close to having hope right now!!
