I know exactly what you mean about thinking of the time and emotional energy needed to start again. That was something that really got to me over and over again. I know Unicorns will be feeling that right now and all I can say from my own experience is that however hopeless it may feel at times, it is possible to get through and try again, after some gentle recovery and care.

Thank you for your words Lisa, I should say that while I still feel anxious, knicker check and worry about sleeping positions, I also feel much more hopeful than I did 10+ weeks ago. She kicks me all the time which is reassuring (I manage to worry about this too of course). I hope Monday goes quick and Tuesday brings the news you want.

ThoughtAboutThisTooMuch · 27/11/2017 14:28

Hey, is it ok if I join? Though possibly not for very long. I’m currently 8+3. 2 previous mcs at 7 and 4 weeks. Thought I was doing ok; had a positive scan a week and half ago and have been feeling nauseous and v sore boobs. Have been trying to assume that this wasn’t going to work out so trying not to think about it too much. However symptoms have started to disappear today; rationally I know that these things happen but i’ve just got that same feeling of dreed I had with first mc. Trying not to offload on DH too much and my parents, who’re the only other people to know i’m pregnant, are not in the best place to listen to my worries. So thought I’d come back on here, hope that’s ok?

GreyCloudsToday · 27/11/2017 19:44

Hi Lisa don't indulge in the CB digital they are super, super unreliable. I'm crossing absolutely everything for a positive scan tomorrow. I'm so sorry you're feeling so worried right now.

Welcome Thought it's ok for symptoms to fluctuate. I bet you'll feel like crap again in the next few days. The best symptom of pregnancy is no period. I hear your anxiety, and I get you.

I'm having really full-on nausea which is awful but matches the symptoms of my only successful pg. I'm just not coping with work though. Got some meds from the GP today to get me through some tough presentations this week. Want to go to bed and not get up again until past 16 weeks.

brogueish · 28/11/2017 09:15

Morning all.

Hope the scan goes well for you, Lisa.

My symptoms have been very up and down too, Thought, it's impossible to read anything into it. My strongest symptoms were my mmc, but this time it's been hugely variable. Best of luck to you.

I had my 12 week scan yesterday and all was well. Very active little thing in there. Nuchal fold looked good and I'll get the NHS screening results either later this week (if high risk) and within two weeks (if low). Due to my age we're doing the harmony test anyway. Oh, and they've brought me forward by a week(!!) so my new EDD is 7th June :)

Thanks so much for all the reassurance and hand-holding from you all, I honestly didn't expect to get to this point. I know there's still a long way to go, but it really feels that a hurdle has been crossed.

Brenna24 · 28/11/2017 11:03

As others have said Lisa the CB digi is not a good indicator of what is going on. Try not to rely on it. I hope the scan goes well today.

Welcome thought. My symptoms were all over the place and up and down in the first trimester. It meant nothing.

Great news Brogue. It is a huge hurdle to get past. I hope all is plain sailing from here.

INeedABiggerBoat · 28/11/2017 11:32

Good luck today Lisa

Unicorns I'm sure you've stepped away by now but just wanted to add how sorry I am to read your news.

Thought my symptoms have been disappearing and appearing throughout my pregnancy and I'm currently 22 weeks if that's any help.

LisaSimpsonsbff · 28/11/2017 11:46

Thanks all - to my complete amazement there was a little blob with a heartbeat. Still so very far to go, and so many chances for things to go wrong, and hard not to latch onto any cause for anxiety (it's measuring 6+2 and I'm 6+4 and I keep worrying about it even thought I know it's a meaningless difference), but trying to let myself have a few days of feeling positive before anxiety inevitably floods back in!

MsJuniper · 28/11/2017 11:53

Oh I'm so pleased Lisa. I know it's still a long way to go but good news for now. Do you have a follow up appt booked?

I've had a headache on and off since about Friday. Not excruciating, I think it's tension but I feel a bit sicky too and hard to concentrate especially on a screen. I have a diabetes appt tomorrow so might call the midwife and see if I can get bp etc checked too.

peachgreen · 28/11/2017 12:01

@LisaSimpsonsbff I'm so pleased, that's just wonderful news.

LisaSimpsonsbff · 28/11/2017 12:19

Thanks - yes, I'm booked in for two weeks' time; they were very clear that this was a reassurance scan due to my past history, not a follow-up scan because there was nothing of concern, which was nice and did make me feel better. I think 'good news for now' is exactly how I'm trying to think of it. One day at a time!

Sorry you've been feeling ill, msjuniper. Definitely sounds like it might be worth getting blood pressure checked.

GreyCloudsToday · 28/11/2017 12:22

Brilliant news Brogueish and Lisa!!! Flowers

Hope you feel better soon MSJuniper

halloumisandwich · 28/11/2017 12:59

Congratulations lisa, so pleased to see you here! Take it one day at a time - great you're being well looked after. And good news brogue too - thrilled for you! I'm due 30th May so we can go through the journey together!

ThoughtAboutThisTooMuch · 28/11/2017 13:24

Thanks all for your very kind words; they really do help. Still no bleeding yet. Think i’ll look into getting a private scan done just so I can stop thinking about it (until prob 5 mins after that scan too Smile ! )

Hope the meds help grey, it can be really horrible.

Congrats on the positive scans lisa and brogue!

Hope you feel better soon MrsJ

Ekphrasis · 28/11/2017 17:12

Hi, a post I posted yesterday seems to have gone awol - I think someone phoned just before I posted!

I was wishing Lisa a good scan and to also say not to trust the cb digital. I poured over pink lines and some days they were worryingly lighter. I’m
So pleased it was good news - 2 days out is nothing to worry about!

Also welcome thought! I had very fluctuating symptoms till around week 9/10 when they got very bad for a few weeks, but with my first my symptoms were quite mild and had eased by about 11 weeks - so it’s very variable. I googled ‘loss of symptoms at ....’ to death!

bexiboopz · 28/11/2017 17:49

Hi, I'm glad I found this thread. I lost 3 months ago and now I'm 8wks with my rainbow. I'm absolutely terrified. No sickness, no symptoms but lots of positive test results. I lost at this stage last time so super paranoid

Lifeofpies · 28/11/2017 20:06

Hi all, I was on this thread back in the summer with a March due date, but had my second MMC in August. You were an amazing support at the time.

I got a + last week and have been trying not to think about it too much (obviously working Wink). Oddly I feel less anxious this time, probably because I am just expecting to mc, and also because I know there’s nothing I can do about it. I’m also being made redundant at the end of Jan so quite preoccupied with job hunting! Hoping to get a job before I start showing...

I’m having totally different symptoms than I have had with my previous pregnancies—no sore boobs, but nausea. I just assumed I would feel the same!

Really nice to see some familiar faces, and very sorry indeed for those who have left the thread X

Brenna24 · 28/11/2017 22:32

Great start Lisa. Am I right in saying all your losses have been very early? In which case you are now past your danger point too! Grin

Yay, 2 good scans in 1 day. I love days like this.

Get well soon MrsJ and definitely phone your midwife if you have a headache which lasts any length of time.

Hahaha thought. You are right, the reassurance doesn't last that long. But at least you get some.

Hi and welcome Bexi, you have indeed found your people here. Congratulations on your new pregnancy, I hope this one works out for you.

Welcome back Pies. Congratulations. I hope you are with us for longer this time. I remember you from last time.

Hi all, I’ve been here a couple of times now, I’m on attempt number 5 (over 2 and a bit years) at having a second child. 3 mmcs, 1 v early ‘natural’ mc. They usually stop have heartbeats but then stop about 8 weeks. Each one breaks me a little bit more. I don’t feel positive about this one at all, scan last week measured a week behind (6 rather than 7) and HCG bloods that week rose over 48 hours but only about 55/60% (can’t remember figs exactly). So I know they’re not good signs & I need to prepare myself. I’ve got raised NK cells so I’m taking prednisolone & cyclogest. Have very few symptoms but I know that means not v much either way. Gloomy start - sorry!

My post is really to ask if anyone has had intralipid infusions? I haven’t been offered them or suggested by hospital but I’ve found a clinic nearby that will do them for me and I’ve been reading about them. I think it might be a bit late really, you’re meant to have them earlier on. I could have gone tomorrow but I’ve got a scan on Friday anyway so I’ve decided to wait until then - I could then book in for Monday. I’m torturing myself that I’ve made the wrong decision :( they’re £315 per go (every fortnight) and I thought it was probably best to see if there was still a heartbeat on Friday first. I hope I’ve done the right thing. If I’d found the clinic earlier but I didn’t. Has anyone had these for NK cells and after a heartbeat found?

Hugs to everyone going through this, it’s really impossible to understand if you haven’t been where we have xx

BlueeSpottyTiger · 28/11/2017 23:31

Congrats on the scans! :) i love hearing good news!!
princess I'm sorry for your losses, Congrats on your pregnancy xx

I had to have a scan this morning due to suspected ectopic. Baby was in the right place with a heartbeat :) I'm supposed to be 7 weeks tomorrow based on lmp but i reckon I'm around 6+2ish based on when i ovulated as my cycles were 8 days longer after the mc. They said the baby was measuring about 5.5-6 weeks but as they are measuring in such small increments they are not very accurate and by the 12 week scan ( if i get there) it should have caught back up. I know i shouldn't be worried about this, But i am. But my baby had a heartbeat and thats all what matters for now! One day at a time....xx

LisaSimpsonsbff · 29/11/2017 08:16

Ooh, this thread moves fast! Thank you for the nice messages Smile

Great news bluee! Looks like we're at the same point - fingers crossed we keep getting good news!

Princess I'm so sorry for your losses. I don't know very much about it (I was tested for elevated NK cells but the test came back normal) but my understanding is that the intralipids are quite controversial - and while some doctors think the progesterone (which I'm on) and pred are pointless but harmless, there are those who think intralipids are actively bad. It's so hard to make this kind of choice, though. There is a thread on the conception boards about TTC after getting a high NK cell diagnosis (I had a look at it when I was deciding whether to get tested for it) and a lot of those women are pregnant and had prednisolone and/or intralipids - it might be worth popping into there if you want experiences from women who've gone down that route? I'm really sorry so you're worried and really hope that this pregnancy does work out for you.

bexiboopz · 29/11/2017 10:59

Morning ladies. Hope you're all feeling good and cooking your nuggets nicely. I jinxed myself yday saying no symptoms. Feeling sick as a dog today and stuck in work. Not good, but makes me feel a bit more pregnant

MsJuniper · 29/11/2017 12:20

Welcome @princessconsuelobananahammock @bexiboopz and @Lifeofpies - hope your stays here are long and uneventful! It is such a difficult time at the beginning when everything moves so slowly and all you can do is take one day at a time (or one hour at a time some days). I am 22 weeks and have just started to feel like time is passing a bit quicker. Roll on 24 weeks now.

Really glad to hear your scan went well @BlueeSpottyTiger. Amazing to see that heartbeat.

ThoughtAboutThisTooMuch · 29/11/2017 14:34

So sorry for all your losses bex, princess and pies and congratulations on your pregnancies!

Delighted you saw the heartbeat bluee, that’s great news. Think i’m going to book a scan for the weekend, though part of me feels ignorance is bliss.

Brenna24 · 29/11/2017 16:11

Welcome back Princess. I have high NK cells too, but no experience of the intralipids. I am here courtesy of the wonderful prednisolone/progesterone combination. This attempt number 4 for us ove 2.5 years, so very similar to the position you are in. I lost the heartbeat on 1 at 8 weeks, the others didn't make it past 5. I suspect you may be too late for the intralipids by now, but the prednisolone should be working by now, so I have everything crossed for you.

Great news on your scan Bluee. Youa re off to a good start.

Congratulations on seeing a heartbeat Bluee, and great that it’s not ectopic. Hope you have a smooth ride to the dating scan.

Thanks for the welcome back, Brenna and MsJuniper, I hope you’re really well.
