Had scan, all they could find was a sack full of fluid, couldn't see a baby or anything, they don't know if I've had a miscarriage or not, there was bloody today but only on the swab, had my bloods taken got to go back Friday for them to be done again so they can see if my level of hormones have went up, has this happened to anyone else?? I would rather know if this is a MC rather than wait around xxx

Sorry Bisset that’s so stressful. Is there any chance you could be less far along than you thought?

Bisset80 · 01/11/2017 10:56

Thank you ladies, I'm hoping that's the case @MsJuniper, my last period started 2nd September which puts me at 8+4, but on that period it lasted d nearly 2 weeks, so I'm thinking that had moved my ovulation day, if it has it would put me at 5-6 weeks?? If so then the bleeding could be off implantation?? I'm preparing for the worst but still trying to remain positive xxx

emvy · 01/11/2017 21:01

Bisset, I'm so sorry that's such a stressful situation. As others have said, I guess it's not possible to tell just yet. I did have something similar with my first pregnancy which didn't end up progressing any further but your questionable dates sound promising - if you were 5 weeks then it's likely they'd be seeing something like that on a scan. I have everything crossed for you for Friday x

Brenna24 · 01/11/2017 22:32

Everything crossed for you Bisset. At 5 weeks you wouldn't expect to see much, so I hope that you just ovulated very late.

Hazandduck · 01/11/2017 23:37

Another one crossing everything @Bisset.

Thanks @Ekphrasis. I actually love every minute of being pregnant and feel so grateful every day for my baby, I just feel so close to the end and just want him/her safe in my arms now, the anxiety is just unreal. I had another migraine today, went blind when driving down a country road (national speed limit) it was terrifying. I usually have one migraine a year; I’ve had none since being pregnant but have had 2 in the last week where I go blind and lose feeling down one side and I don’t get what is causing it! Must be a weird late pregnancy symptom. Midwife doesn’t seem worried coz my other tests are ok, I just feel a bit scared to go out driving now. X

zaalitje · 02/11/2017 07:17

Hi ladies, I'm 10 weeks today. They're words I never thought I'd say, the furthest I've got before is just over 7, unless you count the mac picked up at 8 weeks but lost at 6.

I'm scared, I have a routine scan tomorrow and I've noticed over the past couple of days my symptoms have been milder, I've woke this morning to no nausea and only slightly tender boobs, previously this has been a precursor to the inevitable.

Could I have a hand hols till tomorrow please, I'm not ready to lose another one . . .

Brenna24 · 02/11/2017 08:44

That is scary Haz. Do you have an alternative to driving? Bus, lifts etc.? I think I would give it a miss for now. Too much at stake.

Hand hold from here Zaalitje. My routine scan at 9 weeks to check I had got further than any of my previous pregnancies was terrifying. The worst of the lot I think. It all looked good when I got there though.

Waterfeature · 02/11/2017 08:55

Bisset I very much relate - I had that exact scenario. Sadly the outcome wasn’t good for me, but I remember reading lots and lots of stories (after frantic googling) where everything was fine.

zaa, welcome. I’m in a similar scenario to you. Got a scan on Sunday (at 7+6) and am really dreading the same scenario as my previous 2 pregnancies. I haven’t had many symptoms anyway (apart from big boobs) and symptoms do come and go quite normally. Good luck.

Haz That does sound scary. And migraines are horrid.

Hazandduck · 02/11/2017 09:10

Handholding here @Zaa. Symptoms can come and go and don’t always mean anything good or bad! But I totally understand the analysing everything, it is impossible to not overthink when you’ve already been through so much.

Thank you @Brenna and @Waterfeature, they really are horrible and so scary at the moment because I know my triggers usually but these are seemingly out of nowhere. Midwife has said it is my hormones.
I don’t actually need to go any where as I am on maternity leave and have less than 2 weeks told due date, I was going out with a friend for lunch and she luckily was very calm and phoned my DH. I managed to drive us back to my house and she looked after me til he got back from work. I think I would have been less scared if my waters broke, and my DH said the same! They are bloody horrible and I go in to such a state when I have them. Just have that weird migraine hangover today with extreme thirst and fatigue. Day in my dressing gown I think lol x

zaalitje · 02/11/2017 09:22

Thank you ladies.

Anxiety isn't helped by stomach cramps that I think are brought on by trapped wind and constipation and the on/ off light brown spotting.

We had a scan last week privately and all looked fine, I just get so worried something might change and I wouldn't know.

MsJuniper · 02/11/2017 09:38

Also got everything crossed for you Bisset. It does sound as though your cycles may be out of sync so hopefully that’s it.

Zaa welcome, I think the stage you’re at is the hardest bit, every day seems to go so slowly and you’re analysing every second. The worry stays when you’ve had a bad history but it will start to change to more hope as time passes. Everything crossed for you too.

Haz that does sound worrying, as others have said you will have to avoid driving and get as much rest as possible. It won’t be long now before you have your lovely baby.

I had a scan yesterday (18w) but the baby was in a bad position so they couldn’t see much. The doctor was quite frustrated which was stressful, I don’t want to feel bad that my baby is being uncooperative when all it’s doing is trying to curl up and rest. Growth all fine and hb too so that’s the important thing. Just would have been nice to see the detail like last time. Next scan 20/11 when I’ll be 20+6.

INeedABiggerBoat · 02/11/2017 11:10

Hi everyone, sorry I stepped away for a while. Lots of things have been happening with my work and I've been quite ill lately which hasn't helped with my anxiety (chest infection that's led to a pulled rib muscle - agony!). I've been lurking on this thread though and smiling lots at all the good news and milestones reached. Bisset I hope everything works out okay for you.

Little one seems to be doing well, and is possibly the most scanned foetus in history - we're having private scans practically every week to assuage my worries. Currently at 18+4 and we found out a few weeks ago that we're having a little girl! This week I've been feeling a few tiny kicks as well. We're totally besotted with her, have named her already, bought her first teddy bear... If it all goes wrong now I don't know how I'm going to cope, I was able to keep a degree of separation from it until we found out the gender.

Had my first proper midwife appointment earlier this week and they've put me on aspirin for 'moderate risk of pre-eclampsia', which has freaked me out a bit except I don't really understand why. My blood pressure and bloods are all fine, and their only reasoning seems to be it's my first pregnancy. I wonder whether they're responding to my sky-high anxiety and just throwing everything at the pregnancy maybe???

UnicornsandRainbows1 · 02/11/2017 11:54

Well is less than 24 hours til my scan now and I just want to run away and hide! I've woken up this morning truly believing that this is the last day of this pregnancy and I'm so anxious and upset atm.

It's like they are unwanted but they're really not. I'm just so miserable and freaked out that I'll have to go through this again

zaalitje · 02/11/2017 12:07

unicorn you've mirrored my thoughts.

You've got a handhold from me, hopefully tomorrow will turn into a bright shiny day.

halloumisandwich · 02/11/2017 14:01

Thinking of you both with your scans unicorn and zaa - I know how stressful it is, but keeping everything crossed for you.

Sorry you're struggling too Haz, I hope you've been able to relax a bit today! And you too Boat, I think you're allowed to get a bit excited at this stage!
12 days until my 12 week scan. Very much just wanting to get that over with now!

Bisset80 · 02/11/2017 15:41

Thank you ladies, just so confused had heavy bleeding today went to hospital they checked my cervix and it was closed, so they still don't know!!! Hopefully th see bloods tomorrow will give a better explanation on things, just want to hide away xxx

Good luck and a hand hold for your scans zaa and unicorn. My symptoms eased around 10 weeks and everything was fine, try not to put too much on it although I know it's so hard not to analyse everything.

Sorry you've experienced more stress with your bleed bisset. I have everything crossed for you tomorrow.

Ineed, congrats on finding out you're having a little girl - how wonderful! Try to enjoy it whenever you can - you're allowed!

Sorry your scan was made stressful by the sonographer MrsJ, that's such a shame. I hope your next one is more enjoyable Smile

Well I had my 16 week midwife appointment today and I decided to follow her lead in regards to the heartbeat - if she offered to listen, I'd accept, if not, I wouldn't ask her to. She offered and got it almost right away. Such a wonderful sound! Everything else all good except being referred to consultant led care due to my low bmi. She said she's not worried at all and can tell I'm just naturally slim but she has to follow guidelines. I get two extra scans after 20 weeks because of it though so I'm not really complaining! It'll just be annoying having to talk to someone about food when if they actually saw what I ate in any one day they'd send me straight back out the door!! 😂 I'm also just on cloud 9 after hearing little one is still alive so nothing else is really bothering me right now!

Smurf123 · 02/11/2017 19:40

Emvy that all sounds great!! So glad you got to hear heartbeat.
I do have to ask you though...... How on earth did you survive your half term week off last week?? I'm off this week and I am really really struggling... Seriously missing all my little kids for keeping me busy and stopping me from over thinking things!
I think I might be feeling movements but then my brain goes into overdrive and I convince myself that I'm imagining it just because I want to be feeling movements.
Ineed fantastic news congrats on your girl Smile
Ekp this pregnancy so far I have gone from measuring one week behind lmp to one week ahead at the next scan, stayed that way for a couple of scans then at 13 weeks measuring almost exactly as it would be from lmp to now being maybe a little bit ahead again at the last scan (head and stomach measuring ahead by a week and femur bang on lmp - all within normal range) no idea of growth spurts but my doc maintains she won't change date unless it is consistently measuring more than 5 days either way due to margin of error in measurements - in 13 week scan first pic measuring 13 weeks 0 days which had me panicking because I thought that was behind.. I mentioned this and she checked again and this time measured 13w 4 days. Doctor said it depends on the position of the baby.
Wishing anyone who has scans coming up the best of luck and hope they go well!

emvy · 02/11/2017 20:11

Oh gosh Smurf I was a nightmare! I spent the first 3 days immersed in complete obsession! I then scheduled things for the remainder of the week (including a day of working) and it really helped. I did the exact same wondering about movements as well and by the first day back at school had convinced myself that I was sometimes feeling flutters. However, since being back I've felt absolutely nothing at all so now I'm thinking I maybe imagined the whole thing! 🤦🏼‍♀️

UnicornsandRainbows1 · 03/11/2017 11:05

So I'm actually measuring 6+1 rather than 6+5 but...

WE HAVE A HEARTBEAT

So relived and I might have cried like a bitch so I kept moving my tummy about. Whoops.
