That is a shame they were grumpy and made you feel bad MrsJ. Our little one has been uncooperative at every scan - 6 weeks - hiding behing yolk sac, 9 weeks - so active they couldn't get a picture at the right angle for ages, 12 and 20 weeks - had their back to us and refused to budge other than to twist further out the road. We have had a really good giggle with the sonographer each time. It is not always an easy thing to get a good ultrasound and a sense of humour is essential for the process.

Good to see you INeed. Do you have other members of your family that have had pre-eclampsia? Maybe they are going on family history or something. It won't harm, so try not to worry too much about it.

I hope everything is ok Bisset. Flowers

Glad you got to hear the heartbeat Emvy. I asked for mine to be done at 16 weeks, but she couldn't find it. I found out at 20 weeks I had an anterior placenta, so I am not surprised.

Great news Unicorns Grin Stage 1 complete.

Unfortunately I've lost the baby my hormone levels dropped drastically absolutely heartbroken, have so many questions now.

Good luck ladies with all your bumps please please cherish every single movement and symptom, even the not so nice ones xxx

Ekphrasis · 03/11/2017 12:41

I’m so very sorry @Bisset80. Sending much love xxx

UnicornsandRainbows1 · 03/11/2017 12:43

Oh Bisset80 I'm so, so sorry Sad

Brenna24 · 03/11/2017 12:44

I am so sorry Bisset. I hope you get some answers and are back on here before I give birth and for a much longer time. Hugs. I hope you have plenty of RL support.

So very sorry to hear that, Bisset Flowers

emvy · 03/11/2017 17:33

So, so sorry Bisset. I really hope to see you back here soon. Look after yourself x

emvy · 03/11/2017 17:37

In regards to being referred for pre-eclampsia on the grounds of genetics - I don't think that's a thing. My mum had it really badly with me, to the point I was delivered at emergency c section 10 weeks early and weighed just 2lbs. Mum was also super, super poorly. I mentioned it to my midwife at my booking in and she said it makes no difference to me so unless she sees any worrying symptoms she's not going to be worried about it... I guess everywhere is different and follows different guidelines but that's what she said anyway. It's very odd you've been referred for seemingly no reason!

MsJuniper · 03/11/2017 19:12

So sorry Bisset. I’m so sad for you. Wishing you all the best for happier times in the future.

Really glad to read your news Unicorns. Everything crossed for you.

Took DS to the doctor as a small rash which I assumed was a skin irritation hadn’t cleared up and it turns out he has shingles Shock Fortunately I had chicken pox as a child - they said they could do a blood test to check I was still immune but I don’t think there’s any point.

Waterfeature · 03/11/2017 19:29

So sorry Bisset.

hotcookie · 04/11/2017 07:42

Just catching up. Thinking of you bisset and hope you’re back soon.

unicorns, amazing news! So pleased for you.

Welcome zaalitje and I hope you’re ok. I does get easier; getting through the early weeks is the hardest bit. One day at a time.

Congratulations boat! glad all is well. Aspirin seems pretty common now as a safety thing.

Hope you’re ok now haz, not long now!

Sorry about the rubbish consultant Mrs J. are you going back? Also I can’t remember if you’ve told your ds yet or not? We are thinking maybe Xmas when I’m 20 weeks. I hope ds is ok too. Had he had cp that you know of? I don’t think ds has but it’s possible he had it mildly. We’ve been slightly dreading it arriving!

Smurf re dates, we had our nhs scan on Thursday- all still well. She knocked off one day so it must be about right! I moved at lot with ds but not by that much!

It’s probably ridiculous but I’m sure I’ve been feeling movements since last week (12 weeks then). The placenta is high at the back so the sonographer said it’s possible. Tiny thumps and pressure very occasionally. Baby is so wriggly on each scan I’m not surprised!

mogulfield · 04/11/2017 21:44

So sorry bisset take care of yourself and don’t do too much too soon, it’s a big loss. We’ll hopefully see you here soon Flowers

Sorry for not being on this thread recently, I run my own business and it’s been manic recently, so I banned myself from mumsnet for a few weeks (I was losing hours to trawling through mumsnet and posting on dozens of threads a day!).

25 weeks now and all going fine!
I was just wondering how much weight people had put on at 25 weeks? My friend was told you shouldn’t put on any weight until 20 weeks and then after that it’s a pound a week... I’ve already put on 8 lbs! Confused

Brenna24 · 05/11/2017 08:59

Hi Mogul. I am 26 weeks tomorrow and have put on 9kg so far Grin

OP posts:
MsJuniper · 05/11/2017 09:15

Mogul it depends on your starting weight and if you are under- or over- weight. I shouldn’t be adding much weight; so far have put on 3-5lbs at 18wks so need to keep an eye (diabetes diet should help).

There’s a chart on this page: www.babycentre.co.uk/a554810/weight-gain-in-pregnancy which I’ve attached.* It says most weight should be gained after 20 weeks but not that you should gain nothing before that point.*

zaalitje · 05/11/2017 09:28

bisset I'm so sorry, my heart goes out to you, be kind to yourself xx

So, Fridays scan whilst not clear measured to the day so we're a little more relaxed.
I've got a new worry now, a spot that's appeared on my back, spots being one of the first things I noticed before losses previously.
Following previous losses scans are only reassuring for only a day or two, and then my mind starts to drift back. This is all such a headfuck!

Ekphrasis · 05/11/2017 09:39

Uncontrollable nausea eating has led to an extra 8lb at 13 weeks here...

But I wasn’t over weight to start with, and if anything could have put some on anyway.

I’m sort of more off food now if nauseous so I’m hoping that’s it for a while! I do need to do more exercise though. I was quite fit when I had my son. A swim once a fortnight seems to be the pattern here now Blush

mammabear4 · 05/11/2017 09:52

Hi ladies Smile sorry I’ve been a bit AWOL, just had a quick scan through.

So sorry Bisset Flowers

Congrats on everyone with good scan news!!

31+2 here, absolutely gigantic! I don’t feel like the twins are ready to arrive yet but I just can’t imagine another 2 months ish of bump growth!! How are you doing with carrying all the double weight Utter? Good thing is babies are both growing well and both perfectly following the growth chart at the scans.

Not much to report here - just had half term and was so hoping to start maternity leave in the next couple of weeks but because I’m supply teaching I get Maternity Allowance and the way it’s worked out with having to jump through certain loops to get it, I have to work up to 36 weeks 😩 fingers crossed babies stay put until after then!

DH has finished his stage 2 training, just found out on Friday he’s been posted on a base 4 hours away from home which isn’t ideal, but they’ve given him a role which works on a shift pattern so he gets 4 days off every week!!

MsJ I daren’t even open your screenshot of normal weight gain as I’m sure mine is off the charts! I’ve gone from a normal clothes size 12 to barely squeezing into maternity size 14!! Help!

Hope everyone is doing ok! Lots of love to you all x

zaalitje · 05/11/2017 12:56

My anxiety is crippling me, I want my nausea and heartburn and so so sore boobs back, I just don't feel pregnant without them. They've decreased to barely there over the last couple of days and I worry it's too early to be losing symptoms (10 weeks).

Waterfeature · 05/11/2017 14:42

Had my scan today at 7+6. Not good news. Embryo was barely there — less than 2mm, no HB.

3rd time I’ve been here, and I’m 45 so feels like last chance saloon. I do have older dc so I’m counting my blessings, but I feel absolutely gutted. Also unsure of what to do because I’m going on holiday in 10 days and am worried about MC while away. OTOH I don’t want to do anything yet because of my silly silly hope it might all work out.

zaalitje · 05/11/2017 16:02

Water I'm so sorry, be kind to yourself.

Is there anyway the holiday could be postponed? Insurance claim?
I understand your need wait before doing anything, what have the hospital said? Do they want to rescan in a week or two or have they left you to decide on what happens next?

Waterfeature · 05/11/2017 16:21

Thank you zaa.

I’m going as someone’s guest on the holiday. Haven’t booked it myself and would be unthinkably disruptive for me to cancel...

Was a private scan today. They told me to speak to GP/midwife. I haven’t even told my GP I’m pg because I was so pessimistic about my prospects. So I suppose I’ll go to the EPU this week and see what they say.

zaalitje · 05/11/2017 17:06

Does the person you were going with know?
And were you staying in the UK or going abroad?

In your shoes I'd be begging the epu to see me, let them know about the holiday and that you need to know asap.

Waterfeature · 05/11/2017 17:13

We haven’t told anyone, least of all this elderly relative who only recently told me not to have any more children 😳
