I just felt the baby kick!!!!!

I’ve felt light flutters and some pressure from inside for a week or so, but this morning I could feel it from the outside with my hand on my tummy.

I feel like laying in bed all day and doing nothing else but resting my hand on my tummy.

Hazandduck · 27/10/2017 11:18

Ah how wonderful @MsJuniper!

Brenna24 · 27/10/2017 13:43

How wonderful MrsJ. That is exactly how I felt my first kick too. Grin

@MsJuniper awww amazing!!! Can't wait to get to that point!!! Just have a hard tummy now xxx

UnicornsandRainbows1 · 27/10/2017 15:03

So no phone call bastards so we've just gone ahead with our original plan of booking a scan for next week. It's still ofc mega early, but it's the week where things started to go bad last time so I'd rather just know ^^

emvy · 27/10/2017 20:48

Sorry they've been rubbish unicorns, I hope your scan goes well. It's such a nerve wracking time as you approach the time it went wrong before. Try and keep busy!

MrsJ, that's great!! I don't blame you, I'd want to do the same! I'm desperate to feel at least some kind of flutters or popping that I can tell for sure isn't just wind or my food digesting! 🙈 I'm just 16 weeks today though so I guess it's still early days.

Brenna, that sounds like a very eventful day! Although it was a faff and your husband was woken up, you can rest knowing you did the right thing regardless!

Ekphrasis, wonderful news on your scan! It's so wonderful isn't it?!

Halloumi, that's awful Sad it's such a shame they can't seem to pass things on! My midwife says things like, "I hope to see you again," when she leaves which always sounds a bit odd.

Brenna24 · 28/10/2017 00:02

That is crap Unicorns. I hope it is all ok.

OP posts:
halloumisandwich · 28/10/2017 10:09

Sorry the GP still hasn't called unicorn. Hope the scan next week gives you some peace of mind.
Delighted for you MrsJ that's great news!
Had my early scan this morning and DH and I were both surprised and delighted to see everything looking good and a strong heartbeat!

Doublechocolatetiffin · 28/10/2017 10:33

Oh MrsJ that's lovely news, I cannot wait to start feeling kicks!!

Halloumi I'm sorry your midwife was so poorly informed. Lots of the time the NHS doesn't seem to know it's arse from its elbow. No excuse though, that was really bad.

Brenna that does sound rather eventful - I'm not sure you should have done anything differently though!

unicorn I'm sorry you haven't heard anything from your GP. Sounds like a scan is a good idea to me. I hope it all goes well.

I've made it to 12 weeks today and I'm feeling much more energetic. It's nice to be able to actually do stuff and not just sleep all the time Smile

Brenna24 · 28/10/2017 11:27

Great news Halloumi. I love the feeling of joy I get at hearing each milestone and scan people have on here.

WLMcI · 28/10/2017 14:13

Congratulations on the good scan, @halloumisandwich! How many weeks are you now? Like Brenna says, each milestone gives us all hope and cause for celebration :)

I'm at the very exciting stage of 31 weeks, which includes: insomnia and resulting exhaustion, having heartburn at random times every day and night (no pattern to it really), wearing a belly support band that feels like being eaten by a boa constrictor (but does seem to help the SPD), swelling feet and lots and lots of cramping in the feet and legs. So to say I'm enjoying late pregnancy at the minute would be taking it a bit far Grin, but I am still so amazed by the whole process and the fact that I'm getting close to the finish line! It's amazing feeling and seeing the baby move and knowing that it's a nearly independent little being, it can recognize my voice and see and in a couple months I should get to meet it! I've made a list of the stuff I need in my hospital bag and started getting it all in, including washing all the tiny little newborn clothes, which was a very "eeeee! look at the wee baby things!" moment.

MsJuniper · 28/10/2017 17:23

Great news on the scan Halloumi! And that’s fantastic Double you have reached 12 weeks. Some lovely milestones for our little group today.

Unicorn I hope you get your scan sorted somehow.

I keep hoping for some more news from the ttc group, fingers crossed for some more BFPs soon.

halloumisandwich · 28/10/2017 17:59

Thanks all! They dated me as 9 weeks 3 days. Still worrying about something going wrong between now and my 12 week scan, but celebrating with a Becks blue tonight!
Delighted for you double and WLM Can't believe you're nearly there, I still remember you getting your BFP!

Waterfeature · 28/10/2017 23:51

Hi all. May I join you? 6+5 here after two previous MC (and older children).

Feeling really anxious because it was around this time that everything went wrong before — though I only found out when I went for a private scan. Have enlarged boobs but no sickness at all so that’s making me worry.

Haven’t told a soul except DH which is also a strain, but I can’t bear putting the children through the angst of another loss if everything goes wrong.

I’m having a scan on 5 Nov so am trying not to die of fretting before then...

Brenna24 · 29/10/2017 15:49

Hi and welcome Waterfeature. Congratulations on your BFP. Best of luck for the 5th. Your username makes me want to pee. Grin

The other day I had a patch of something on my pyjama top by my right nipple. I thought I had spilled my dinner on it. I have been sat in my pjs this afternoon doing some crochet, I got up to go pee and thought, my top feels wet. I have two wet patches and another stain the same next to my right nipple, which was quite sore earlier). I guess I am now lactating then. At least on one side. Grin

How many weeks are you Brenna? I had that with dc1.

24 weeks

Haha Brenna I feel your confusion! I’ve had that exact problem since about 18 weeks which is mental!! I have to wear a bra and breast pads in bed now or I end up with very sticky arms and crusty patches on the bedding! I’m taking it as a good sign that there will be plenty of milk Grin.

Uneventful few days here really. Just kind of plodding along. I got an appointment through the post for my GTT the other day. Apparently my BMI is 0.2 into the “you’re fat so you must have GD” group so off I go to waste a morning at the hospital on Tuesday. I don’t think I am likely to have it as I generally feel too well, and all my urine dips have been absolutely fine so fingers crossed I’m just going to be starved for no good reason!!

AnUtter congratulations on 32 weeks and the travel system - it’s really hard isn’t it to think about buying stuff.**
Re GD I was given the same info re carbs.* I’ve carried on relatively normally for the first few days to see how my blood sugars are responding but I need to cut back now. We had DS’s birthday party today and my reading was very high this evening, thought I could get away with a small slice of bday cake but obviously not! I am mostly veggie so main thing is to get more of a protein balance.*

Brenna24 · 29/10/2017 22:06

Thankfully I am not making quite that much yet Pattern Grin Good luck with the GTT.

Fantastic news AnUtter. Well done on being brave too.

Ektoplasmicsis · 30/10/2017 06:59

How are you today @UnicornsandRainbows1 ?

Aw mrsj, awesome kick news! Has ds felt it yet? I hope he had a fab party! Sorry to hear about GD. I’m wondering if I’ll go that way too. I’m feeling so nauseous at the mo, nothing’s helping though sweet things can - literally a lump of sugar or a sherbert dip dab.

Glad the scan went well halloumi! (Now I crave halloumi...) sorry about your mw experience. In my experience there’s not always a great deal of joined up thinking. I think they’re trying to join the dots more from what I’ve been told but for some reason the software etc is cumbersome. I constantly just explain the deal to who ever I see. I don’t trust the mws doing my thyroid bloods; with my son the results didn’t come back for 10 days and they were not good, by which time I was worse. The mw this time explained that at my old gps, the mw service was an entirely different trust and she thinks they went to a hospital miles away. Not the mws fault, more the system.

Welcome water feature! fingers crossed all goes well. I didn’t feel hugely sick till 8 weeks and now it won’t shift.

Hope the gtt goes well noparticular.
I don’t have leaky nipples but they’re cheesy which I had with ds (sorry!) - I remember being able to squeeze colostrum in the final few weeks and realised that’s what the orange cheese was!

Congratulations on your milestones anutter! Well done for biting the bullet. Not long now!

Just a little on tentahooks, we get the harmony test results this week and I have my scan on Thursday.

MsJuniper · 30/10/2017 09:28

I hope your GTT goes well tomorrow Pattern - I have to say I’ve felt well in both GD pregnancies and urine has been fine but GD is an odd thing. I am sure you will be fine though. The only good thing about them assuming GD this time is that I didn’t have to have the GTT!
