Congratulations on the new house Peach.

I am just back from my neice's baby shower. Shock It cannot possibly be nearly time for her to have her baby (she is 33 weeks now). Our bumps are almost the same size too (I am only 22 weeks).

@Brenna I feel enormous! I was up at the maternity unit on Saturday after having some pains (all OK) and the lady next to me was being induced. I'm 35 weeks, but this lady's bump was so small and lovely, I swear mine hasn't looked like that since about 18 weeks. Mine is like a humongous balloon and I could potentially not have my baby for another 7 weeks...!

Hazandduck · 09/10/2017 08:39

Oh and @Peach congratulations on your new home :) how exciting! New home, new baby 😊 You will probably find being so busy will make your pregnancy fly by.

Ekphrasis · 09/10/2017 09:46

Hello all, I think I’ve missed some scans and positive news as well as some new people. Yay for all! I really hope we all continue to progress well!

So glad you’re home amy and all is well! So lovely your girls are smitten!

My son held a 6 week old the other day (asked and held twice, kissed his head too!) every time we see a baby he says he wants one! He’s nearly 5 so there will be a big age gap if we are successful but at the same time I feel he could appreciate him/her more. (Wants a boy though!)

Had some ongoing anxiety after I suddenly had more energy last week and some insomnia. It’s passed now though. Last Thursday was the most nauseous I’ve been. And I’m not sure my boobs can take getting much bigger. I can only wear the lovely soft sports bra/ top I wore throughout ds’s pregnancy. I’m also carting about a huge bum and the start of a bump - not even quite 9 weeks! But I think it’s more because I can’t stop eating.

So I’m generally feeling a bit more positive - then I have to put the stoppers on. I really can’t bring myself to book a scan yet.

Also trying to decide whether to book into the harmony test at 10 weeks or wait till after the scan. I’m 40 so I know our risk factor won’t be that good.

Ekphrasis · 09/10/2017 09:47

And congrats on the house peach! - I’m sure it feels like so much work but it’s so exciting!

Brenna24 · 09/10/2017 11:23

Grin Haz I feel big now and I know I am heading towards being enormous.

Glad to hear you are feeling a bit more positive Ekphrasis. I hope that continues. How sweet with your son. I loved watching my 6 year old nephew interacting with the bump and anticipating the pregnancy. I would like two but because of my age will be trying to have a small a gap as is possible with our history between them so that we don't run out of time. I kind of feel sad that baby 1 won't get to anticipate the pleasure of the arrival of baby 2. But you can't have everything in life and I will be happier if we just manage to have 2.

Hello all :)

congrats on the house @peachgreen how exciting but yes, don't overdo it! :) Do you have big plans for the nursery?

Bump sizing is weird isn't it? I had a meltdown last week because my stomach flattened out a bit even though i knew it was probably mainly bloat to begin with. but it's back again now.

Had my 16 week appointment today and the midwife listened to the heartbeat - despite my placenta being anterior she found it straight away and said it was really strong :D could also hear him swishing about, so surreal as I can't feel anything yet. But feel a bit more reassured now as it's broken up the long slog to 20 weeks.

Hope everyone is okay @ekphrasis my symptoms have changed constantly - and i have days where i feel so fine i could forget i was pregnant. Glad you are feeling better now and your son sounds like such a cutie!

Cookiemonster19 · 09/10/2017 15:18

Huge congratulations amy!! ❤️❤️
I fell off the thread again!! Had an awful two weeks, got thrombosed hemmoroids which was the most painful thing I’ve ever experienced :( dr said it was caused by pressure of the baby.
7 days until my due date! Feeling super nervous and excited

💖

whyhastherumgone · 09/10/2017 15:21

ouch @cookiemonster that sounds painful!!! Poor you. but so exciting you're only seven days away!

Cookiemonster19 · 09/10/2017 15:33

Was excruciating! @ whyhastherumgone wouldn’t wish it on my worst enemy
I still can’t get my head round it! Seems like the pregnancy went by so fast yet so slow

Ouch cookie! Exciting though.

Ek I have an almost-5 DS too, we are thinking of telling him at the weekend. He has been asking for a baby ever since my sister had one so hopefully he will be pleased.

I had my appointment at the research centre today, got to spend almost 40 mins looking at the baby. Everything is looking really good - they looked at the brain, heart, limbs and organs in quite a bit of detail. There were some 3D images but they were frankly a bit weird! I have a second visit in a few weeks.

mammabear4 · 09/10/2017 17:01

utter I'm drinking Gaviscon constantly at the moment, feel so squished and uncomfortable!!

Congrats on the heartbeat rum and cookie how exciting really not long now!

I'm 27+3 and just to jump on the bump size chat - I'm now DEFINITELY as big as I was at 41 weeks with DD! How I'm going to get through another 10 weeks I have no idea! Attached a picture of bump I sent via snapchat this morning hence the caption. Feel like a planet!

mammabear4 · 09/10/2017 17:02

Oh and MsJ congrats on the scan! Missed your post. I've never seen 3D scan images in real time must be crazy to see!

Hazandduck · 09/10/2017 18:12

@whyhastherumgone ah I remember I hated lying down on my back as my 'bump' would vanish! Now I haven't seen my foo for weeks 😂 That must mean it's your proper bump now :) The heartbeat is so special and nerve-wracking. At my last midwife the baby had hiccoughs and we could hear them through the Doppler it was so sweet.

Hazandduck · 09/10/2017 18:14

@Mamma lovely bump pic :)

Hazandduck · 09/10/2017 18:15

Good luck @cookie how exciting. I'm getting to the nervous stage now. Bag half packed. Baby clothes half washed and put away. 5 weeks left! And I've not done one bloody antenatal class so I'm seriously unprepared!

Ouch Cookie that sounds horrid. I can't believe how close you are now though.

Gaviscon or Peptac liquids are your friend AnUtter.

Lovely picture Mama. A friend of my nieces took a picture of both of us with our bumps yesterday. I am trying to get my hands on a copy of it.

Haz that isn't long either! So exciting. Grin

Thanks ladies :)

haz so exciting, not long! Love that a few of us are getting so close to the end now.

utter I'm 5ft3! Xx

Ekphrasis · 09/10/2017 20:17

Brenna is have preferred two close together but it didn’t work that way, so I do look for silver linings! He said today that if we have a baby, when it’s three he’d like to sit in the spectators deck and watch her/ him swim, like I used to watch him swim! I’m really quite surprised and touched - I’m not sure how much he’ll want to share me though if we are successful! (Not told him yet though, he just keeps seeing babies in the playground!)

Fantastic news Mrs J! I remember you have a ds this age too. How is School going?

Glad your appt went well why!

Wow cookie, not long! Sorry about your piles. When baby is born ask for proctsydl (something like that) which is a mild steroid and really helps. You may be able to use it now actually?

Awesome bump mama!

So many of you are getting so close. So exciting!

Hazandduck · 09/10/2017 22:17

It is crazy, feels like the time has flown, when in those early weeks time passes so painfully slowly. To everyone in those agonising first few months, it does get easier!

@Mamma I've had such painful poops and they have cut me at times, it really isn't glamorous at all is it! I'm more nervous about my first one after giving birth than giving birth itself!

I still can't believe we are going to have a baby so soon. I feel so privileged to have carried this little rolypoly for the last 35 weeks and already feel like I know them so much already. Even though I don't even know if they are a boy or girl! I know women have been doing this forever, but I honestly am so thankful every day to still be pregnant, I know you ladies will appreciate what I mean! X
