This was my last bump pic from our honeymoon a couple of weeks ago, 33 weeks and there is only one baby in there! A tad worried I'm going to have a stone baby 🙈

Such gorgeous bumps!! 😃 Bring on the bump for me. I’m 19 weeks and definitely still pass for just being a bit fat!

WLMcI · 10/10/2017 08:18

Oh @cookie, ouch! On the plus side, maybe this will make labour seem like a walk in the park? We can but hope! Best of luck with the next week (or however long baby takes to appear)!

@AnUtter I've been recommended Gaviscon, and so far it works fine, although my heartburn is mild. It's happening more frequently as baby gets bigger, and I now sleep propped up on a sort of wedge formation of pillows, because even many hours after eating it still feels like it's all sitting at the bottom of my throat if I lie down! Also have heard that the Rennie chewables are effective--but it really seems to differ from person to person.

Ekphrasis · 10/10/2017 08:19

Wow haz impressive!

I went for a swim yesterday after two week not doing anything and have completely deflated! So the ‘bump’ I had must have been water retention! And pie.

Lovely photo Haz. Your hair is amazing.

Wow, AnUtter I am only 5'2" with a short body and long legs. You have far more room than me. Grin

Thanks guys! I do love having a bump. Sometimes I forget and feel really weird when people are nice to me seemingly for no reason, then realise it is because they look at me and see a pregnant woman! I would say get your OHs to take pictures as you go, looking back at my 18 week pics when I thought I was huge, I just look bloated when I compare them. It's nice to have a record of your journey (most of those pics are of me in my pants though so I won't frighten you all sharing those haha!)

It will be weird when I'm not pregnant any more falling asleep without a pack of Rennies under my pillow! I am quite a pillow fiend any way and sleep with about 3 on a normal night but now I have 4-5 and little cushions propping me up. I feel very Princess and the Pea but if it reduces the late night acid reflux I'll put up with the stiff neck! X

Doublechocolatetiffin · 10/10/2017 12:59

I'm loving all the bump photos! I went through mine from my first pregnancy yesterday - I was so tiny to start with and by the end was mahossive!! I look now about the same as I did at 6 months the first time, I'm 9 weeks. It's all chub. We did a bump Wednesday pic on the Facebook group I was on, which means I've got a pic from every week - lovely to have those memories. I'll start again (and see if I can get the May people on board) once I'm passed the dreaded 12 week scan, which is 2 weeks today. Thank goodness the NHS doesn't bother accounting for long cycles when calculating when to do it, it means I get a scan at 11+3.

Ekphrasis · 10/10/2017 13:31

That’s a nice idea choc! is like to do that thing where you merge all the pics and speed it up!

We had a sweary Wednesday in my ds’s group ...

mammabear4 · 10/10/2017 17:10

Beautiful bump photo Haz!!

Utter ooh that's good so the babies have a bit of space still! I'm such a short arse it does worry me their time will be up sooner rather than later but hopefully we will both get to the 37 weeks! I've started to get a shadow of a linea negra which I didn't have at all with DD and my belly button is completely flat, can see it popping out any day now! Also didn't have that with DD - it stayed an inny the whole way through!

Cookiemonster19 · 10/10/2017 21:29

Thanks guys, it seems crazy that it’s just round the corner now. But deffo to those who are in the early stages, it gets a lot easier as time goes on!
@anutteridiot have you tried milk for your heartburn? I’ve been drinking a glass of milk every time I get heartburn and it helps a lot.

Stealthtoast · 10/10/2017 22:45

I am trying to hide my bump to stop work figuring out I'm pregnant yet (though am not sure it's working!)
I have my 12 week scan on Thu - can anyone tell me how long it is typically before I will get the downs risk figure back from the nuchal translucency and blood test? and if its high risk and I have the harmony test after that how much longer it would be? I want to know when I might know!

MsJuniper · 10/10/2017 23:55

Really exciting to hear from those further along. Lovely bumps too.

Ek school is going well thanks! He bounces in every day. Loves the lunches. How about you?

AnUtter I had awful heartburn with DS but after getting the GD diagnosis I reduced sugar and the heartburn really receded. I'm not suggesting you were eating loads of sugar before, but you might find the modifications to diet have a positive effect. I'd forgotten it was one of the happy side effects of GD, otherwise I'd probably have continued to have bad heartburn throughout.

I have felt a few strange feelings, some occasional pressure and faint flutters. Not sure if it is wishful thinking or if it's the first sign of movements.

Hazandduck · 11/10/2017 00:42

@mammabear I honestly have had an innie my whole life and am pretty sure I've never seen the bottom of it (I felt like it was bottomless!) but mine popped out from around 25 weeks, and it is really weird, it looks like a balloon knot yuck! Some days I go to sleep and it's out, then I wake up and it's sucked in because baby has moved from behind it. So, so freaky!

@msjuniper it is interesting you say that as I have always had such a sweet tooth and had heartburn even before I was pregnant, that has now morphed in to acid reflux. My late night biscuit snaffling may have to stop! 😟

Good luck for the 12 week scans coming up! @stealth I had my results really quickly, a couple of days, which panicked me thinking it was bad news but no I was low risk the hospital just weren't inundated at the time. I think a week would be average time for results? I don't know about the harmony test but I imagine as it seems very expensive it is quite quick to get results? X

Hazandduck · 11/10/2017 00:45

@doublechoc that is a fab idea!
@brenna thank you, I am currently in root central now and desperately need my hair doing but have to buy more important things...like Christmassy baby pyjamas haha x

whyhastherumgone · 11/10/2017 07:21

@hazandduck gorgeous bump pic - you're stunning!

@stealth got my letter with results about four working days after so hopefully you won't have to wait that long

emvy · 11/10/2017 07:36

Wow you guys got your results quickly! My scan was a week ago Monday and I'm still waiting. I had a text to say I had a message on my NHS log in (for my doctor's surgery) so I'm guessing that could be it but I can't remember my bloody username! I'll have to ring them today. Anyway, if that was it, it took 8 days. I do think it can take up to a couple of weeks though, from what my midwife dm told me, so I wouldn't panic if you're still waiting after a few days...

All those bump pics are beautiful! I'm also trying to hide mine from work (I'm a teacher so I'm trying to keep it from parents until after the 20 week scan), and it's proving quite tricky. Even with baggy jumpers those that know are commenting. I'm 13+5 so I have a long while to hide it! Obviously loving it though.

Hazandduck · 11/10/2017 07:55

It could just depend on whereabouts you are as well @emvy. Some hospitals may take a bit longer to get the results out. I've never heard about the NHS log-in for results, sounds easier than waiting around for the post!

Do you teach younger children that are likely to outright ask you? It's a good excuse to buy lots of nice wintry layers :) x

Doublechocolatetiffin · 11/10/2017 08:16

@stealth I haven't had my scan yet, but they said they'd call or text within 3 days if I was high risk. If I'm not high risk then it can take a couple of weeks to get the letter. I think they are pretty good about calling v quickly if anything is unusual. I'd double check with them at your scan though so you know what to expect. Good luck for tomorrow!

mogulfield · 11/10/2017 14:31

haz that’s a lovely pic, you look very glamorous, where was the honeymoon? Im loving the bump pics so have included my own, 21 weeks now so hopefully less pie looking and more ‘there’s a baby in there’!

In less positive news I’ve been ill 4 weeks now (colds and chest infection), antibiotics have helped the cough a little, but I’m still hacking my lungs up, can’t hear in my left ear (annoying now) and am full of cold.
I’m wondering whether to go back to the doctors? On the one hand, is there anything they can do? On the other hand you here these horror stories of people ignoring illness!! 🤔

mogulfield · 11/10/2017 14:33

stealth it took about 3 weeks for us to get our result. But that’s because we were low risk so low priority from the hospital.

Brenna24 · 11/10/2017 16:35

You should go back to the Drs Mogul. That has been going on a long time now and the antibiotics haven't totally cleared it. Have you tried steaming your chest (bowl of boiling water, with or without menthol crystals in it, towel over the head and use the towel to make a tent, then inhale the steam)? That is really good for loosening up what is in there and helping you shift the mucus, plus it is safe for the baby. It may help clear things.

MsJuniper · 11/10/2017 19:02

I was told I'd hear within 5 days by phone for a high risk result or 2-3 weeks by post for a low risk. I got the letter after 2 weeks.

Sorry to offload but I am having the most horrible stressful time at work. I'm trying to stay calm but there is some awful shit going on, really horrible bullying and terrible decisions which I am being forced to carry out. I wish it was something I could ride out for a few months but I am in the thick of it and having to have intensive ongoing meetings about the situation that's unfolding. Most staff don't yet know I'm pregnant. I had an email today (from someone who does know) that was so awful I developed a headache and stomach ache after it. I know that sounds dramatic but it really is that awful, taking conversations out of context and misrepresenting them, twisting them, sharing them with others to create conflict. If I weren't pregnant I'd leave but I feel so trapped. There is no HR dept or other managers I can turn to.

Ekphrasis · 11/10/2017 20:12

I’m so sorry Mrs j - that does sound really stressful. I know it’s hard to do so but could you take some time off? I hope it’s all resolved soon.

Mogul you could even ask for a blue inhaler; just to see if it helps open the airways. I developed asthma only recently but only discovered it after a friend suggested asking for one to see if it helped. (It didn’t hugely, I had to have steroids, but did help coughing fits) apparently they sometimes give them to see if it helps and hormones can affect the airways (mine was worse after pregnancy when periods cane back).

I’d go back and have a chat.
