Had one last week which appears to have done diddly squat. Any likelihood this one will be any different. 40+3 now Sad

Ah Jadey, you made me laugh. I too was shouting forcefully for an epidural!! Hope all goes well and that your little one is here now

Hello Girls

Sorry so long for update. So my beautiful lil baby girl is here arrived by forceps and a 27 hour labour on Friday the soddin 13th at 1.10pm in the afternoon. She was 8lb 2oz when long legs and long fingers and long toes. She is definitely going to be a tall girl. Her daddy is 6ft 4 and very stocky. She looks the spit of me but with her daddys nose thank God. We have called her Kenzi and her middle name is Jai. 😍 I cannot stop starring at her. My poor moo though. Do you no what I am so glad I couldn't have her at the Midwife Led Unit because there is no way in he'll I could of got through 26 hours of contractions with no epidural. I don't remember a lot of the bit before the epidural. But have heard some crazy and funny reenactments from my DB and my mum. Might be going home later depends if lil Kenzi's cannula can come out or not. I think I'm still in shock from the whole ordeal. Xxxx but yes everyone you are so right. So worth every horrible second of that horrendous labour. 😍

@Mummabubs

Babes I was adement I wanted a water birth at the MLU. I really thought that I would cope with the contractions. If I give one bit of advice from my excorcist alter ego it would be follow what she said and "fuck the water birth have an epidural" lol and trust me if the MLU was like mine. Wonderful and perfect and just lush in every way but with no pain relief except gas and air and pethidine and if there are any problems that you will have to be blue lighted to your local maternity hospital. Babes go to the hospital and have an epidural as soon as you can. Especially if it's your first. I really didn't expect to react the way I did. I've watched so many one born every minutes and seems how lush the water birth are but hats off to those ladies. Cause unless that water has some kind of numbing agent in it I really don't no how they do it.xxxx good luck.xx

Awww lemon what are we like ay? God bless the inventor of epidurals.xxxxx

Congratulations @Jadeybaby85 !! So happy you've finally got your little one with you 😊 Hope you're recovering well and enjoying time getting to know her!

I had my second s&s yesterday and they said it's still looking unfavourable at the moment but have another 2 booked in before induction. I'm still holding out some hope for my low intervention birth dream but it's a tad different where I live as the MLU in my local hospital is literally one floor away from the CLU, so if anything does change during labour they can have you transferred within minutes... best of both worlds!

I've done Daisy Birthing classes and we talked a lot about how the physical environment you give birth in affects your interpretation of pain- some women find being in a clinical hospital environment more relaxing as they feel inherently safer... not the case for me (and I work in a hospital!!) so if I can start off at least in the MLU that'll be a win as far as I'm concerned!! 😂

Jadeybaby85 · 15/10/2017 09:07

O wow your so lucky. I think I would of stuck with MLU if given the chance if it was in the same hospital.xxxx the calmness is what i wanted. I think it was sods law for me that cause I had a really lovely normal standard low risk pregnancy. That I had a horrendous birth lol.xx but totally worth every min.xxx good luck babes.xx

mummabubs · 15/10/2017 11:43

Thanks lovely! We've specialised in having many mini-dramas throughout pregnancy so kept being told I couldn't have the MLU water birth, only to transferred back to midwife-led within 48 hours each time... so I figure I'm due a spot of good luck in the actually birthing part!! 😂

Congrats Jadey! Sorry been away from the thread for ages. DD2 is here! i went into labour sunday morning but once again all stopped when i got to hospital. they decided to keep me in overnight and induce on monday so i spent the day pacing the induction ward terrified it would take days. midwife came to check me and i was 2cm and contractions not regular...soon as she left they suddenly went into overdrive and i was rushed down to labour ward where she was born within 15 mins! false labour was not in vain it was a serious rush to get me to labour ward in time..shes gorgeous and worth the wait!

Yey congrats silky bear I'm so pleased that you didnt have to go through the overdrive contractions for more than 15 mins as I no what they are like i wanted to die. So Worth it in the end though. What did you call her and how much did she way?xx well done darling all those false starts saved you in the end.xxx
