Had one last week which appears to have done diddly squat. Any likelihood this one will be any different. 40+3 now Sad

Same here i think i have worn the carpet out bouncing on the ball. Is there a magic move???.

Bouncing whilst varying how high and fast I bounced, rolling my hips round in circles as wide as I could etc. I also knelt behind the ball and leaned on it rocking forwards & backwards. With my 3rd I did the bouncing for half an hour then did some decorating, another half hour on the ball, bit more decorating, back on the ball and when I stood up my waters just popped Shock

Midwife told me that sex is usually the best thing but that due to how low down the baby's head is that it would probably be uncomfortable for both me and my husband. She did say that foreplay would help but after hearing that DH isn't in the sexy mood...

Jellybabie3 · 28/09/2017 13:24

Lol DIY job then Wink

Me and DP saw it as a means to an end and also the last intimacy we'd be having for a while. I was overdue with all 3 of mine so you have my greatest sympathies Flowers

Littlekezza · 28/09/2017 13:35

Sex worked with my son and hour later I was in active labour without any early labour beforehand this time nope apparently my cervix is already soft so doubt sperm can help me anymore now..ill have to keep trying on the ball but it's really hurts me using it unless I lean over it and rock

Jellybabie3 · 28/09/2017 13:42

Mw said sex is to release your happy hormone which can trigger labour so not just to soften cervix...she told me to 'do whatever turns you on'

I have it on the agenda like everyday but doesn't work this time around 😔

10storeylovesong · 28/09/2017 13:52

I think there's two aspects to the sex element: sperm contains prostaglandin which softens the cervix, and a happy ending increases oxytocin which causes contractions. My cervix is soft so may not need him anyway!

Hello Jellybaby. I'm new to mum's net and this is my first post. It's now 5.22 AM and as per the last 4 weeks I'm having a shite nights sleep. It was my due date yesterday with my first baby and had my first sweep at 11am. Like you didly squat. Last night I bounced on my ball for ages ate yet more soddin pineapple, took my evening primrose capsule and put one up my moo. Ate a hot curry and had half a glass of red wine. Nothing!! If one more of my friends or family tells me she'll come out when she's ready I'm going to screem. AngryI've been getting period style pains all night but this has been going on since 36 weeks so trying not to get my hopes up. Any updates from you? Jadeybaby.xxxWink

Jadeybaby85 · 29/09/2017 05:30

Oh and as for sex thats out of the question. I'd love to but I could literally pay my BF and he still wouldn't go there atm. AngryHmm

silkybear · 29/09/2017 05:57

i keep seeing the same posters on different threads and seems like none of our babies are gonna turn up for weeks! Sad i spent all afternoon timing brax hicks that came 10 mins apart yesterday and werent painful but made me breathless, went to bed at 8pm thinking i will be in proper labour by the morning but nope its all stopped again. with dd i had a week of period pains and a weekend of contractions that didnt go anywhere. so from mon-sun nothing but false hope. sun night went in and was only 1 cm dialiated at 42 weeks (livid not the word) so was then a further 10 hour labour (not induced) everyone says 2nd labours are quicker and midwife said baby is so low and engaged she doubts i wil go to due date (39+4 now) so where is it!! aaaargh.

Jellybabie3 · 29/09/2017 07:03

Aaargh i am so frustrated now. My September baby is fast disappearing (or turning into an October one) Aargh. I had contraction pains or whatever for hours yesterday like pp and here we are. Awake, frustrated and feeling nothing. Also next person to tell me its ok he will come when ready is getting poked in the eye. Next person to text and ask if hes here or will he be here for the weekend...gets the wrath of a very grumpy full term mess. I'm thinking about turning whatsapp off as all my antenatal group are popping babies out every 24hrs......anyway.....Morning all Grin

Morning. Sorry to see everyone still here. I'm another one awake all night with BH and also trapped wind and heartburn - it's the one symptom I though I'd gotten away with but nope, the last 3 nights I've been awake for 2-3 hours burping like a trooper.

Is anyone else worried that they won't know when labour starts and will leave it all too late? With my first I had 12 hours of regular but painless BH contractions and only went in to be checked because I was high risk of pre-term labour. They told me I was 4cm dilated and kept me in. Everything stopped and I was checked at 7.30 when I was still at 4cm. At 7.40 I threw up and started passing out. They were getting me ready for Emcs when at 7.50 I announced I needed a poo - they checked quickly and I was 10cm and ready to push, DS was born at 7.56.

When the midwife came on Tues she asked about contractions and I told her I'd had a few BH. She said that whatever they were they were working as was 2-3cm dilated. Our labour ward won't admit you until the contractions are painful. I'm so worried now that I'll miss the signs and not get my DH home in time (he works in Manchester and there is 1 train per hour which takes half hour then 10 mins walk) and will give birth home alone or in the car on the motorway.

Jellybabie3 · 29/09/2017 07:48

Yep absolutely. I was admitted at 30 weeks with suspected pre term labour as i was having painful bh every couple of mins. Was monitored and verified over a few hours. Apparently i have an irritable uterus which means i feel strong pain with bh when really i shouldnt. This is why I've been going out of my mind for nearly 3 weeks as i keep feeling like I'm going into labour. Doesn't help i am first time mum. I am literally praying waters break so i dont ring DH falsely while hes at work.

10storeylovesong · 29/09/2017 08:15

Me too - I found myself lunging last night every time I got up for the loo, hoping that my waters would just gush.

Mines kind of the opposite in that I don't feel the pain at all (I have a ridiculously high pain threshold) so am quite blasé about it. It's good to know I'm not the only one panicking about it though!

silkybear · 29/09/2017 08:38

yep the painless brax i had yesterday were coming so regularly i thought what if this is actually labour and my pain threshold is a bit higher now ive done it once..sadly not though. i hope we all have our babies out this weekend!

Jadeybaby85 · 29/09/2017 11:57

So good to read all your stories ladies. I'm getting really cheesed off today with my what's app going off every two mins. "Is she here yet?" Any news chick???"

No she bloody well is not here yet. Then they proceed to give me all these tips on how to bring on labour. Like I'm not trying them all already Angry.

I was really hoping for a September baba. Don't no why but part of it is that my sister in law is due on the 13th Oct and if I go fully over and she's on time then we're guna be popping them.out together. I don't want that!!! To top it all off I saw a different midwife yesterday. She gave me my sweep and took one look at my notes and said. " oh your baba has been measuring rather big right from the start? " the tell me something I don't no! " have you not had a growth scan? " no I ruddy well haven't. So now I have to go for a growth scan on Monday if she's still not here. And if she is big then I might not be able to have her where I wanted!!! AngrySad

Sorry ladies for the rant feeling very irritable today.xx

silkybear · 29/09/2017 13:17

Fingers crossed for all of us. I feel a bit better just come back from a walk to try and get things started and had a show now, so it cannot seriously be much longer. its like i have every symptom apart from the contractions themselves, this morn i was so angry i started crying and shouting get the fuck out at my stomach Grin Im trying to plan my supermarket run for after hospital to keep my mind off it. going to get my fave red wine, blue cheese and chicken liver pate with some crusty bread. can't think of anything else yet as ive eaten runny eggs the whole way through anyway. maybe a massive slab of chocolate cake and cream. looking forward to a glass of wine. alcohol has made me feel sick the whole time so can't even sniff it at the mo. what are you all looking forward to most? i also can't wait to sniff my little newborn head and see my DDs reaction to the new sibling. really hope you get your september baby Jadey, still possible.

Jadeybaby85 · 29/09/2017 14:10

Mmmmmmm silkybear your making me hungry lol.xx I'm most looking forward to seeing my Boyfriends reaction when he sees her for the first time. Obviously smelling her head Wink can't wait to hold her and give her the biggest kiss on her big chubby cheek. This baby has been a very long time coming for me. I think that's why this last little stretch is doing my head in so much. I was crying yesterday cuz I didn't have any tea bags lol bloody hormones.xx great news you've have a show. Although I have to admit to being a little jealous.xx I to have had on off BH contractions since 36 weeks and my MW kept telling me how low she was and any day now.... hmmmm well not yet lol.xx just spent all morning cleaning out or bedroom attaching the snuzpod to our duvan bed, moving furniture around, eating leftover heated up curry from last night and now I'm Gina have a bath cuz my backs killing. Might of slightly over done it oops.xxx good luck ladies.xxx
