Second stretch and sweep - any hope??

Had one last week which appears to have done diddly squat. Any likelihood this one will be any different. 40+3 now

congrats Jelly what a nightmare but worth it all in the end! my DD did that, turned up 20 mins before induction was scheduled! Urgh Jadey thats crap for you im sorry. Can't be much longer now

I went for my 41 week appointment with my midwife on Saturday, which ended in me being induced for reduced movements 😱 Little Lemon arrived at 11.14am today.

The induction was not fun but got a lot better after my epidural!! Frustrating nearly pushed him out by myself but he was just too chunky so I ended up the an episiotomy (but no instruments). Enjoying newborn snuggles right now, although I'm struggling not to drift off.

Ok so today I've made up my mind that I'm going to try caster oil. I have researched it and I've literally tried everything else. Have my induction tomorrow so going to get up no get washed get dressed and go out and buy some with a carton of orange juice and take half a teaspoon every few hours mixed with oj. I am officially fed right up at 11 days overdue today.

Ok so it's 11.20 and I've just taken 1 tablespoon of caster oil with orange juice lets see if anything happens.

How did it taste @Jadeybaby85? Doesn’t sound very pleasant to me! Hope it works though. I’m 41 weeks today and feeling fed up too. I just wish there was a progress measure or something so we knew we were getting closer. What kind of induction are you booked in for?

Your begin by pooing (a lot ) and that was thought to get things going ! Good luck.

I think castor oil just gives you bad diarrhoea and stomach cramps, I wouldn't recommend it!

So took the castor oil around 11am. It didn't really do much no poopin other than the norm. Made me feel a bit sickly but I carried on eating and drinking as normal. At 1pm yesterday regular contractions started. But they were like 8 mins apart and not very painful. That's been going on all day and all night. Baby is moving normally and no signs other than that that labour is coming. I'm really disappointed. Looks like it's induction after all. 😣 I am currently sat ago in bed again can't sleep. DB sleeping soundly next to me. At least i no that the process is going to begin in the next 24 hours. Good luck to the rest of the girls on here. I cant wait to meet my little girl. 😃😍

if youve got contractions then labour is starting so doubt they will induce...good luck today

Delayed possibly til Thursday at the main hospital to be induced. Apparently there's like 50 women in front of me 😒. Just had another sweep at my midwife led unit where i want to give birth. and things are progressing really well.x me and DB have decided to let her come when she's ready because I'm lucky enough to have that option cuz I've had no complications throughout and it's the same now. My blood pressure and baby's heart rate and everything else are perfect. My cervix is now in the right position and completely soft and shortened so if I just let nature take its course and turn down the induction. I will definitely go into labour in the next few days. Can't believe I'm actually going to wait now. But it's really weird I feel relived having made that decision. So they won't let me go past 14 days over which is Thursday. In which case I will have to be induced.🙂🙄

ah cool thats good news Jadey! do you think the oil helped? ive had painful contractions all day 4 mins apart so i cancelled my midwife app today thinking i was in labour. spent all day pacing the floor in pain and the last hour it has just stopped completely. looks like my second false labour in the last week. with my dd my brax hicks didnt hurt so im struggling to work out the difference as this feels so real and had got worse through the day but no closer together. so frustrated and sick of constant limbo. really hope it starts again tonight

Awww silky i really feel your pain I had the same thing yesterday. From 1pm til 4am I could literally set a clock by them then they just fizzled out. The oil I think caused them a little bit yesterday but I only took 1.5 tablespoons mixed with half a glass of OJ which I downed. It doesn't really taste of anything. It did make me feel about dizzy and pukey at first which scared me a little so I was downing pints of water. No poop though which I really was expecting. Let's hope tonight's our night. Xxx stupid blooming limbo contractions. Apart from that it stops us sleeping to.🤗 sending you big hugs from the west country.xx

im in the west country too ha ha maybe the babies are just a bit more chilled down here! without outing myself too much im in plymouth so if you happen to be local maybe we will hear each other screaming through the walls at Derriford mat ward

Update. So basically I have till midnight tonight to go in to labour naturally and have her at the place i want. If the clock ticks midnight and there's still no sign then I can't got there anymore. In the meantime I am on the list for induction at the main hospital. If they ring me anytime from now then I'm off to have an induction at the main hospital. Which I'm fine with that they believe that she is progressing so well that they won't need to do a pessory induction and will only have to break my waters to get things going. If I don't get a call the main hospital today then they will call me tomorrow and I'm high priority.
In the meantime baby is perfectly fine placenta is still perfect and I feel great.xx

11 days till due date for me so a while to go yet but so lovely hearing all the updates.

its my daughters birthday today so for once im hoping i dont go into labour! having to share birthdays with a sibling would suck! fingers crossed for Jadey and all of you today. i dont know how many ladies are left to go on the thread, I know we have had a decent amount of births on here now!

Hello everyone. So I am sat in hospital hooked up to machines monitoring lil baba got induced at 11am yesterday. When my waters popped at 19.40. The contractions were excruciating I turned into the excorcist. Had an epidural at 23.20 after screaming fuck the water birth give me an epidural apparently. Am currently 8-9cm dilated. Have a bit of a temperature, have thrown up and am on a hormonal drip trying to get baby to get into a better position. Xx

Watching with interest as I had my first stretch and sweep yesterday (no signs of it having worked so far) and I have another one booked for Saturday and then Monday... then induction next week if no baby. A bit like you I've had my heart set on a water birth in our local MLU so I'm really hoping baby decides they want to come before induction day arrives 😬
