Second stretch and sweep - any hope??

Had one last week which appears to have done diddly squat. Any likelihood this one will be any different. 40+3 now

I know how you feel donkey. Mine was at home on my bed so I was just lay there with only my tshirt on with a midwife I'd never met before stood next to me chatting. It was surreal. I'd prepared myself for it to hurt as well but it didn't and was over before I knew it.

Ahh donkey my fellow due dater lol here we still are..dont worry about sweep they can be uncomfortable but give you hope I just bled after mine didn't do anything but my bodies not ready heres hoping yours is success

Had the appointment. Not looking great, no change since last week so very soft cervix but posterior and only 1cm or so dilated. Been booked in for induction next week. I'm not gonna get my dream September baby

Aww jellybabie same here I'm in exact same labour position as you and was hoping a soft cervix was things getting going obviously not! I know I want a September baby too but looks like October same as her brother

Yeah same. Its the pains that bother me. Dont understand how i can have pains and no progress.... Mw just said relax yada yada. Very difficult when you can't sleep because of false contractions and you sit here bored all day pondering when somethings gonna happen. Oh this bit is frustrating

Exactly how I feel if I had no pains it would sense! But why do I keep getting them daily and strong if they don't progress me makes me think my induction will fail too

Same here. Tmi but upset tummy atm. Is that a known thing after a sweep??

I don't think it's connected to having a sweep, but it's a known thing before labour. But it doesn't mean it'll be soon, I've had an upset stomach for three days now! (Ugh...)

Yeah I've been going Up TO 3 times a day for past week i think it can just be normal

Urgh sigh. I'd like one real symptom lol..

Donkey have you gone into labour yet?

Nope! Lost my plug last night and had what I thought might have been true start of contractions, but nothing for hours now. Marching ever closer to induction. But what will be will be!

Do midwives not encourage you to have sex to bring on labour anymore?

Aww nothing here either 😔 when's your induction date?

ItWent - the midwife did suggest trying that. But I really don't feel like it and I think my husband is a bit freaked out by the idea!

We have been recommended and tried sex. No change though! Also told to try expressing milk

Yep there is hope I had a sweep week before due date around 39+2 done nothing! Had one a week later at 40+2 and midwife predicted I would have baby Wednesday morning weighing 6lbs

Dd arrived 2days later on the Wednesday morning weighing 5lbs 15oz

Sex followed by several hours on the birthing ball sent me into labour with 2 of my DC thankfully

Ahh donkey same day as me! Our areas obviously work the same since we had same due date seems so far away 😐
Jellybabie nice to see u back I started thinking you went into labour bizarrely as hadn't seen u on a thread for a while
Sex is not working for me also I've given up trying anything as it seems to take up to much time and energy for nothing

Itwentinmyeye I've been using my ball for weeks now what positions was you doing and was it slow or fast rotations etc..i got spd and can't use the ball for long 😔
