extremely embarrassing but desperate..

I'm 18 weeks pregnant. Been constipated for about 2 weeks nothing too major or difficult and always managed to get everything out Blush

(This is where I get graphic)

However today went to the toilet and got a few tiny tiny balls of poo out and can feel there's a massive part stuck up there , I can not get this piece out its soooo uncomfortable! I tried having my feet placed up higher to try and help but nothing! I can't get past "turtle head" (oh god so embarrassedBlushSad) it's stuck up there and I had to give up , when I "wiped" there was blood I assume from me pushing so hard. I can't physically get fingers up as its RIGHT THERE..

I am truly mortified posting this but i really hope someone can advise me on what to do I'm terrified Sad

Orange juice, tomato juice and cherry tomatoes from now on. And loooads of water each day.

namechanger2735 · 26/09/2017 22:49

I'm not sure you're completely wrong there. Mine did turn out to be a baby and she is a little shit

Oh god op, I have been following with sympathy. I too had a horrific pregnancy, the constipation was INSANE but all up the least of the issues I had. Yup.

All I can say is: keep the beast at bay. Loads of water, daily kiwis, prunes, whatever it takes, and do this right up to labour. I had to have an EMCS and I didn't cry during that, I didn't cry when I had a lumbar puncture, I didn't cry during either spinal lock or epidural, I didn't cry when I had a cervical stitch in and my cervix tried to dilate, I didn't cry when my catheter bag dropped and pulled the cord less than two hours after said EMCS and before the morphine was administered, and I didn't cry when two days post section some BASTARD pushed a wheelchair into me in a lift and tore two stitches open... nope. I DID cry when after almost six days I bring told not to worry and given tiny amount of lactulose I got DH to buy me some lube and some gloves and screamed for about forty five minutes before tearing my arse open with not one but TWO huge compacted lumps about the size of two fists each. The blood was insane. Don't get to that point. Xxx

Lemondrop99 · 26/09/2017 23:09

Oh you poor thing! Loads of sympathy from me. Being that badly constipated is just miserable, passing it is beyond painful and the relief is immense! I'm pleased you've finally resolved it and can totally understand your wish to never repeat it. I was on anti sickness medication which caused terrible constipation, combined with severe dehydration from not being able to keep down fluids, ergh it was horrendous.

Be careful about upping your fibre without monitoring your fluid intake. That could make things worse. You must, must drink tons too if you're going to eat more fibre.

Hairgician · 26/09/2017 23:14

Omg am lying in hospital bed tears streaming from laughing!!
Op so glad to hear you finally gave birthGrin when's the christening??

Hairgician · 26/09/2017 23:19

Shit, actually just realised I can't mind when I last had a poo myselfShock might have been Friday?? Fucksticks.
I have some naked raw fruit and bars. Full of dates and raisins. Best get cracking with them then. Any excuse for munchies now sickness has settled. God knows how long that will last.

namechangeforpost · 26/09/2017 23:41

Omg much sympathy to you ladies in hospital / who had horrible sickness and a shit pregnancy! I can confirm my pregnancy has been nothing but shit , I've been on anti sickness since about 7 weeks so wondering if these played a part also been in hosp due to hyperemisis/extreme dehydration!!

First and LAST pregnancy this son of mine better be extra special the amount I've gone through this early on!

Get those fruit bars down you and get those bowels moving , wouldn't wish a mammoth beast shit after a week on my worst enemy! Hope your making a recovery X

Hairgician · 27/09/2017 07:17

I know only too well what's it's like as I had same experience last time!! Do not want a repeat of that!

f1sher · 27/09/2017 07:28

Really glad you're okay OP! Congratulations on your successful delivery! GrinFlowers

NerNerNerNerNerNerNerNerBATMAN · 27/09/2017 07:53

CONGRATULATIONS OP! I've thought of you every time I've had a poop...

I too swore never again last time. I'm now pg with DC 2, albeit with a fairly big gap. You honestly forget how crap pregnancy is. Like you remember it was crap, but not really the extent of it. I think it's natures way of encouraging procreation.

You've encouraged me to drink more water and eat more prunes Grin

MsP0b · 27/09/2017 08:41

Excellent news, well done girlfriend. Smile

namechanger2735 · 27/09/2017 09:32

NerNer when I was having DD, doctor told me I'd have to tell future midwife of future pregnancies about the preeclampsia. I was like "not going to happen, I'm having non more" she said she heard that all the time. It used to really grate on me when people said "oh you will" or "you'll change your mind" I thought, no I fucking won't.
I'm sure il see that doctor again when I give birth again in 5 months

imablackstarnotapopstar · 27/09/2017 10:43

I didn’t go for 15 days after I had DD. Enemas, lactulose, Fibogel, daily visits from district nurses! In the end I paid to have colonic irrigation with a v professional nurse therapist I knew - she said she could see my Christmas dinner - DD was born in July! 😂😂😂

Lemondrop99 · 27/09/2017 14:06

Ah! Are you on ondansetron for your HG? That's what caused my constipation, and the dehydration will have definitely been a factor.

I mentioned to my pregnant SIL that I'd been constipated and she was like "oh all pregnant women get constipated" and I was like "nooooooo, this is nothing like normal constipation" Seriously, I've never experienced anything like it in my life. It's AWFUL. I'm afraid I also ended up in the latex gloves gang, and that was the only way I could poop for months Shock

All I can say is do what you can to stay hydrated (easier said than done) and ask your GP about laxatives. If you are on ondansetron, stool softener (lactulose, fibre etc) isn't going to help. You'll need a stimulant lacitive because your vowel has probably stopped pushing (GP gave my bisacodyl- which wasn't much fun either)

God, pregnancy is so sexy....

yumscrumfatbum · 27/09/2017 14:44

Hooray!

Justanotherusername99 · 27/09/2017 15:36

Congratulations on your successful delivery. What's his name? Hope you are recovering from the traumatic labour.

I've not RTFT so apologies if someone else has said this, but look out for horrendous constipation if you have an epidural/c section. I had a similar "birth" experience to you a week or so after I birthed my human baby. It was impacted and HORRENDOUS and there's no way it would have come out without the glycerine suppositories. It turns out it's a really common side effect of the epidural (and probably various other things). I'm due to have a c section in February and will be ODing on fybogel from about Christmas time onwards...
