Hi, I'm new to the pregnancy board. I've just found out that I am pregnant with my 2nd (4 weeks today) and the NHS calculator says all being well I will be due around 12th May.

I couldn't see any threads for May yet - anyone just found out and want to join me?

DS has just turned 7 so I'm a bit rusty on this whole pregnancy thing!

Hey jayne very similar here so yesterday I took a nap and had an earlier night, think we just have to sleep every chance we get!

LittlePea18 · 14/09/2017 08:34

Hi Ladies!!

I used to be a apart of Mumsnet 4 years ago when TTC and then it was on pause and was still on pause until yesterday when we found out we were pregnant... 2 days before our wedding!!!

Whoops 🙈

Absolutely delighted though!! And delighted to be back with the Mumsnet team 😁

Welcome littlepea and big congrats all round! How exciting!

InRainbows · 14/09/2017 08:45

Welcome back @LittlePea18 Congratulations on baby and wedding!

@Jaynexx22 you could try an app called mind the bump, it is a nice guided pregnancy meditation app. If you can't sleep, just stick your headphones in and give it a go. There are also a meditation game app which is really relaxing. I'm not into meditation but I find when you can't sleep you need to try think about something other than the time / the fact your not sleeping!

Xjo1992x · 14/09/2017 08:58

@LittlePea18 congratulations on the great news! And best of luck for your wedding day!!

LittlePea18 · 14/09/2017 09:32

Thank you ladies Smile

Palan · 14/09/2017 09:56

I just found out a week ago! So trying not to be too excited, but can't help be a little excited - my first pregnancy. Due 18 May!

mummykezza · 14/09/2017 12:21

I got my bfp on Tuesday. I am still in shock. Very wanted and planned baby but I was convinced it hadn't happened this month. Due 20th May, can't wait.

I'm quite overweight so will focus on good nutrition and without any alcohol I expect I'll lose weight at the beginning as I did with my first. I recently joined the gym and the pool is under refurbishment so can't swim., so thinking of using cross trainer and bike so no impact. Do you think this sound ok?

Needmorehands · 14/09/2017 13:24

Hi all, and congratulations
Cannot believe I am back on ante natal threads - youngest is 5, and will be 6 by the time her little brother or sister arrives!
A complete surprise, but I'm getting used to the idea slowly.
This will be DC5, bit hazy on dates so waiting for scan, but thinking early May

ThreeAfter30 · 14/09/2017 15:11

Hi everyone mind if i join? Im 4+1 with #3, due 24th may 😊
I have 24 day cycles so found out super early on cd22 lol

readysetcake · 14/09/2017 15:58

Congratulations everyone! I've just found out I'm pregnant with my second. 4weeks. I'm so pleased but not sure how to tell my DH. I think he'll be angry as he wanted to wait until next year. DD two at end of the month.
Currently haven't told anyone. Also I start a new job on 2nd Oct so they will be pissed. Feeling a bit alone right now!

readysetcake · 14/09/2017 16:00

kezza I'm sure cross trainer and bike are fine if you take it easy. Just don't push yourself if you're not used to it.

mummykezza · 14/09/2017 16:32

thank you readyset, I wont go too hard

Ahhh it may be awkward timing but its still such a gift. Just tell your OH you could have put it off then spent years trying. Never under estimate how hard it can be for some people. It took us longer this time and I'm so happy now. He'll come round to the idea and yes I know its not ideal to start a new job, but you still have rights, and they wont be paying your maternity leave, the government do!!!

hockeychick82 · 14/09/2017 17:34

Newcomer alert! Just found out I was pregnant at the weekend, due around May 7th. 1st baby. So nice reading these posts and relating to the symptoms. My boobs are big already & sore, tummy bloated enough that I can't wear certain clothes already. Feel mildly nauseous but it is the tiredness that is killing me!! Re exercise I play hockey and do spinning plus bodyweight exercises. I have to stop hockey at 12weeks as too dangerous but I'll continue exercising as long as I feel okay. Scan booked for 25th of October and that just seems so long away, I'm almost tempted to book an early scan privately for peace of mind.

Wiggleyfingers · 14/09/2017 17:40

Hey Hockey I am booked in for an early scan on 2nd October! Wanted a half day point to keep me motivated and seems like a much more manageable wait. (Although I'm still counting down the hours!)
Palan we are due date buddies!

Needmorehands · 14/09/2017 18:36

Kezza, I think your ideas for exercise sound ideal :) Wow to keeping going with hockey - not sure I'd have the energy for that even when not pregnant! It was the sore boobs which made me check, I seem to be lucky and not do sicky pregnancies!
Love the name readysetcake! as for telling your DH, mine found the test in teh bathroom after he got home from 4 days away with work and has taken it much better than I dared to hope for, although he admits to being scared. Seems quite a normal thing to think to me!

1987Laura · 14/09/2017 22:29

Yip i found out 2 weeks ago that im expecting my first baby will be 7 weeks tomorrow. Estimated due date 4/5/18!!!!

PhoenixDown · 15/09/2017 03:29

Welcome newcomers and congrats Grin

Well it's half 3 in the morning and I'm wide awake, after being so tired last night. Had to get up for a brew. Going to feel like crap at work today Confused

LAWIREMAN · 15/09/2017 03:33

RhiKHo · 15/09/2017 07:25

PhoenixDown I am having the exact thing you are, waking up to pee (x2 times every night, so random) and at 3am just cannot get back to sleep! If I try listening to anything it just keeps me awake?! Is this normal at this stage? It's my first and I'm exactly 4 weeks today, due 25th May.

MilfordFound · 15/09/2017 07:34

I had an early scan yesterday, measured at 5w6d and a little heart beat. Phew! Very pleased there's actually a baby in there!
All day all night sickness is hideous. Only able to function because of the anti sickness tablets. Last pregnancy I didn't get the tablets until about 8 wks, I'd lost a stone by then and had had an awful time being sick at work, on the bus, everywhere. This time I went straight out and got them. Once I see a doctor I'll get them on prescription.
Scan was £29 on special offer, My Baby Scan in Burscough Lancs if anyone is in the north west.

readysetcake · 15/09/2017 08:01

law that's definitely still a positive Smile

Got the courage to tell my DH this morning. He wasn't as mad as I thought he'd be. Then went into immediate planning mode. But he did give me a hug and a kiss, so I think he's pleased, phew!

I'm having trouble sleeping too. I keep waking up on and off through the night. Doesn't help with the fatigue come night time. Don't remember that from last time.

LadyPug · 15/09/2017 08:19

Morning guys,

I just did a test but the positive line took ages to come up, negative came up immediately then positive came up about 3 mins later but really faded, is this a bad sign?

nats1017 · 15/09/2017 08:19

Hi everyone! Just joined! Found out I'm pregnant with my 1st last week which happened very quickly so still a little surprised but very excited! Due around 16th May!

KalaLaka · 15/09/2017 09:59

Me too!

Just got BFP for baby #4. Feels a bit surreal at the moment! Going to enjoy the next few weeks before sickness hits (yuk) and try not to worry too much about the first 12 weeks passing.

Congrats all Flowers
