Hi, I'm new to the pregnancy board. I've just found out that I am pregnant with my 2nd (4 weeks today) and the NHS calculator says all being well I will be due around 12th May.

I couldn't see any threads for May yet - anyone just found out and want to join me?

DS has just turned 7 so I'm a bit rusty on this whole pregnancy thing!

Hi all

I'm a bit worried that I don't have many symptoms - not even sore boobs! Only tiredness.

Should I be worried! I had more symptoms last time and that ended in mc. Confused 5 weeks today

KittyKK · 15/09/2017 13:03

Hi ladies - just had my first scan at 6+4. Showed a teeny baby like a grain of sand and we heard the heartbeat. The doctor thought it would be funny to say "There's the one baby and there's...are you holding onto something...just the one hahaha". It's funny now, but at the time a shock :)

Xjo1992x · 15/09/2017 13:19

@ladypug so long as the line is there then it is fine! Did you use fmu? Tests often take a few minutes to appear. Sometimes it varies on whether it's a blue dye or pink dye too.

LadyPug · 15/09/2017 13:22

Thanks xjo what's an fmu? It never got particularly strong but I'm telling myself it's from Poundland! Trust the FRER!

readysetcake · 15/09/2017 13:53

@ladypug Fmu = first morning urine

so the first pee of the day! Does it say how long to wait on the box the test came in? Some take longer than others especially if you've apply just missed a period. My clear blue test said 2 minutes. But if there is a line then it's positive. Congratulations Smile

I'd like to join please.

Got BFP on Wednesday, looks like I'm 4 weeks 2 days pregnant! Can't believe it. I'm in my mid-30s and been TTC 14 months and this is my first BFP so very very happy, but at the same time very anxious about something going wrong. In a way I wish I hadn't found out until later on, not sure how I will get through the next 8 weeks until I reach the 12 week 'safety zone'.

My symptoms were chest pain (is that even a pregnancy symptom?!), needing to wee a lot, feeling slightly queasy and dizzy, finger nails (which are normally rubbish and split a lot) suddenly growing long and strong, ache in my legs, some food tasting weird. Boobs are only just starting to feel very slightly tender now, but no real boob ache as such.

I visited my GP surgery today to register the pregnancy, there was a queue of people and I didn't want to announce it in front of everyone so I wrote on a slip of paper that I was there to register a pregnancy and handed it to the receptionist - only for her to ask me (too loudly for my liking) how many weeks I was then ask her colleague (again fairly loudly) where the pregnancy registration forms were kept. Family are all from around this area so I was hoping to have some confidentiality as obviously I've not told anyone yet (apart from DH and my mum).

I'm quite sporty and plan to continue to exercise but just won't push myself too hard. The problem is my main sport is biking so I need to decide when to stop as obviously there's a risk of falling off.

I've got a horse riding trip (booked and paid for) in a few weeks which I've been really looking forward to. I actually booked it after TTC for a year without any luck. I'm currently trying to get hold of the riding place to see what the chances of a refund are.... Does anyone have any knowledge about the risks of horse riding at around 8 weeks pregnant? I'm not sure whether I'm being overly dramatic cancelling, but it's taken me 14 months to get this BFP so I don't want to take any risks! I'll post in the horse riding section too.

Congrats to everyone with BFPs !

LadyPug · 15/09/2017 15:41

Thank you readysteady

LadyPug · 15/09/2017 15:42

Welcome bunnyfluffy and massive congrats on your well earned bfp!!! Woo hoo! I'm around the same as you, 4+4!

readysetcake · 15/09/2017 15:57

I'm 4+4 too!

congratulations bunny! understandable to be nervous after such a long wait. I went horse riding when I was 6 weeks pregnant with my first, but I used to ride a lot and am comfortable on a horse.

Have you been before? If you are good around horses I'd say you would be fine and you should go and enjoy yourself. Even if you were thrown I think it would have to be a very bad accident to hurt the baby. They are very tiny and very well protected at this stage. Plus, trekking ponies tend to be gentle souls that enjoying eating more than riding! You also wouldn't have to canter or gallop if you didn't feel comfortable, just go for a plod and enjoy the scenery!

LadyPug · 15/09/2017 16:03

Yay! readysetbake we're due date twins!

Bunnyfluffy · 15/09/2017 16:10

readysetcake Thanks!
yes I can ride, I have been on this same riding holiday before, it's at a very reputable centre with good well-mannered horses. But it would definitely involve cantering (not optional). I'm unlikely to fall (had my old horse for 3.5 years and only fell off once) but it's not impossible and I just keep thinking "what if....". I'm leaning towards cancelling to be honest. Also worried that if I had morning sickness if wouldn't be great anyway....

readysetcake · 15/09/2017 17:08

Yay ladypug!

If the cantering isn't optional and you feel worried then you probably wouldn't enjoy yourself anyway, bunny. Norm harm in being cautious when carrying such precious cargo. And morning sickness can certainly suck the joy out of any activity!

readysetcake · 15/09/2017 17:09

*no harm

1987Laura · 15/09/2017 17:34

This is my 1st pregnancy so feeling very happy but very scared at the same time as I have no idea what to expect.

Congratulations everyone xxx

Kit17 · 15/09/2017 22:01

I've just found out I'm 2-3wks according to my test, due date based on last AF 21st May. First one for me so not really sure what I'm doing/expecting! I'm really hungry but I think that could just be in my head and an excuse to forget my diet! 😂

LadyPug · 15/09/2017 22:29

Congrats doryshorey and kit and welcome to the thread!

Kit we're due date twins!

Morning Ladies ☀️

Hope everyone is off to a good start and happy to see the weekend! I entered week 5 today and feeling pretty good. (My hives have gone away now!)

Are you testing this morning @LadyPug or are you going to avoid re testing for a bit?

I'm telling two best friends today, they are planning a big night out so I have to spill, have wrapped up some gifts to tell them, just a cute little bracelet that has a message about being an Aunty, I'm quite nervous but also excited!

I might not be back on here till the afternoon so have a good one fellow poppy /sesame / pomegranate seeders 😘
