Hi, I'm new to the pregnancy board. I've just found out that I am pregnant with my 2nd (4 weeks today) and the NHS calculator says all being well I will be due around 12th May.

I couldn't see any threads for May yet - anyone just found out and want to join me?

DS has just turned 7 so I'm a bit rusty on this whole pregnancy thing!

Hi everyone! Hoping to join you all. Just going by dates I'm due about 28th April, but if the baby is anything like me it will definitely be late!!! I am 8 weeks tomorrow, and going to have an early scan on Saturday. Nervous, but excited Grin

Xjo1992x · 13/09/2017 14:55

Oh no @smurf1612 sorry to hear that! Maybe try again tomorrow morning with fmu. It's not over until AF arrives

Biscuitmonster15 · 13/09/2017 15:32

Ive just done a test because I'm just in shock and finding it hard to accept I can be pregnant!
Maybe the two doctors tests were faulty
This is mid afternoon sample and I'm only a day over but I just got a strange line. But it came up straight away!

@Biscuitmonster15 I would check in the morning with your FMU but any line that comes up straight away probably means you are pregnant esp as the doctors also have confirmed it!

Biscuitmonster15 · 13/09/2017 15:45

But I'm optimistically trying to convince myself it could just be a huge faulty batch!

I just keep thinking I will get AF as ive been sterilised and between my a DF we have 6 children, his are 25, 16 and two step grandchildren of 1mth and 2yrs old!

Its an absolute shocker!

TeaAndToast85 · 13/09/2017 15:53

@Biscuitmonster15 what a funny looking line! Definitely check again tomorrow with fmu

Biscuitmonster15 · 13/09/2017 15:59

@TeaAndToast85. The line is the width of the window but fainter at each side! But the squiggle looks like somebody had fun with the solute on the carrier test strip!
So maybe a faulty batch of PT

lulupregnant2 · 13/09/2017 21:17

So as we must all be about 4-7 weeks pregnant what are everyone's symptoms - I'm cramping and feel full down there and defo going to the toilet more and more gas. Little bit of discharge occasionally too plus feeing tired. What about you guys?

JustAMuggle · 13/09/2017 21:39

@lulupregnant2 I've had cramps since implantation, they're only JUST starting to ease now (I'm 5+3), have really bad back aches, sore boobs and have completely lost my appetite. Not had sickness yet (but for one day which I think was due to lack of eating) but feeling nauseous and a bit lightheaded on and off. I definitely think all of that is due to not eating enough though! Oh and the constant toilet breaks - that might be something to do with the amount I'm drinking too Grin
I feel like I can't get excited yet, gave my midwife form in last Monday and still haven't heard anything, how long should I have to wait?

InRainbows · 13/09/2017 21:43

Good topic @lulupregnant2 I'd love a little symptom moan... Tiredness but then restless sleep - annoying. Cramps starting to get a little worse now they freak me out! And last but not least a wierd little outbreak of Hives on my arm - didn't know it was a thing 🤣 seems to be getting better though, must have been an initial hormonal freak out!

lulupregnant2 · 13/09/2017 21:52

@JustAMuggle I haven't even told the gp or anything yet. I think I'm about 5 weeks and I called my doc and the next appointment to see my doc is 3 weeks away so I would be 8 weeks. Do you think that will be ok? I don't know how long to wait ! Sorry! I suppose it defends how busy your area is at the mo!

Frankie2015 · 13/09/2017 21:53

Hi Everyone! So excited to find this group!! I found out on Monday I'm about 4.5 weeks pregnants with dc2. First month of trying so really shocked it happened so quickly second time round!!! My boobs are on fire and my 2 year old Ds elblowed me so hard in them by accident today I nearly cried 🙈 x

lulupregnant2 · 13/09/2017 21:53

@InRainbows are you like me and if you have cramps for like an hour or so you start to think of the worst? I can't help but constantly worry it's gonna go wrong! It's weird to say your pregnant cos the only thing that has said that is a couple of sticks lol

LadyPug · 13/09/2017 21:57

Hey lulupregnant2 hardly any symptoms here. 4+2 and some cramps and tiredness but that's it!

InRainbows · 13/09/2017 22:05

Yes @lulupregnant2 it really freaks me out can't wait for that first scan! Got mine on 11th October.

I'm so clueless about this pregnancy stuff - do the cramps subside as you get further into the pregnancy or do they remain throughout?

Xjo1992x · 13/09/2017 22:08

@lulupregnant2 so I'm 5 weeks tomorrow. Sore boobs, tired, thirsty, peeing lots, easily exhausted, slight funny taste, and a touch of a cold.

I called my Dr last Friday but haven't heard anything back about an appointment yet :(

lulupregnant2 · 13/09/2017 22:24

@InRainbows will you be 12 weeks for your first scan then? I don't think I will be 12 until the 31st oct :-/ does the gp
Book you in? Sorry for all the questions :-)

InRainbows · 13/09/2017 22:34

Oh god, I have baby brain already!? My first mid wife appointment is 11th October, first scan is 6th Nov! Duhh I'm an idiot, god knows how I'm going to make it through the next 8 months!!

I did the self referral form on Monday and my Letter arrived today but I'm lucky as we have a smaller hospital where we live.

LadyPug · 13/09/2017 22:39

Can you have your 12 week scan at 11 weeks? My DH is away for week 12 and would really like him with me!

lulupregnant2 · 13/09/2017 23:24

@LadyPug I'm not sure what t he earliest you can have it is as some of the tests and measurements are done after a certain age I think but then again some people don't have regular cycles etc so won't know exactly how far along they are!

lulupregnant2 · 13/09/2017 23:26

self referral?!? What's that ? I book a normal appointment just to say I'm pregnant , is there a different way of doing it? @InRainbows

InRainbows · 14/09/2017 05:54

@lulupregnant2 the self referral form was to cut out the GP, I just googled it and filled it out online. Buy if you have booked your first appointment with a midwife then that's the same thing.

Word of warning - I was so excited to see my letter come through, it came with a booklet, being my first I got all excited about the booklet thinking it would be about all the cute stuff about your baby development. However, I quickly realised it is about what the blood tests and scans try to detect. It makes for difficult reading so don't start flicking through it in your lunch break!! 😳

Xjo1992x · 14/09/2017 06:52

5 weeks today so I thought I'd treat myself to another test Grin obviously positive, it just makes me feel so good to see those two little lines appear and to know that baby is still sticking on in on there GrinGrin

LadyPug · 14/09/2017 08:02

Hey Xjo I also did another test today and felt relieved that it was a bit darker than the last two (very faint!) days

Jaynexx22 · 14/09/2017 08:08

Hey ladies does anyone have any advice? I'm 4+5 and the last 3 nights have had about 4 hours sleep ... I wake up between 3 and 4am and then I'm wide awake and very restless ... any tips? It's making me even more exhausted than I already felt 😩
