Hi, I'm new to the pregnancy board. I've just found out that I am pregnant with my 2nd (4 weeks today) and the NHS calculator says all being well I will be due around 12th May.

I couldn't see any threads for May yet - anyone just found out and want to join me?

DS has just turned 7 so I'm a bit rusty on this whole pregnancy thing!

Completely lost this thread so posting to make sure I don’t again.

Had my 12 week scan on Friday which was amazing. First thing the sonographer did was show us its heart, brain, legs and hands and let us hear the heartbeat! Such a fantastic experience. He also gave us 6 photos when we only paid for 3! It’s a bit addictive and now I can’t wait for 20 weeks.

Has anyone seen any good Black Friday offers around anywhere?

Pennyfitzgerald91 · 20/11/2017 15:14

Hey just joined this thread! My baby is due 10th May. Which makes me 15 weeks. What's everyone craving? I can't get enough of Greggs sausage rolls! :)

scoutcat · 20/11/2017 18:43

@Pennyfitzgerald91 Oooh Greggs sausage roll! Yum!
Mine is currently crunchy nut cornflakes with cold milk. And banana crunch corners with the chocolate flakes! And pears! Haha!

Pennyfitzgerald91 · 20/11/2017 18:47

@scoutcat haha at least yours is healthy :) although I'm quite partial to regular cornflakes lately! It's funny what everyone goes through :D x

NCT - I found more useful for social contacts with similar age babies than actual information, although as they do a course over a few weeks they have more time than the NHS ones. The NHS ones may include a tour of the labour ward. DH only made it to the last one of the NCT classes as he was working away a lot at the time, and we moved out of the area when DC1 was 6months old so not sure how much use they were really! Having said that I'm considering booking again as DC4 will be 6 when this one is born so don't know many with tiny babies locally - sure I'll find some soon!
16wk appt next week - hoping to hear heartbeat :)

Mayah · 20/11/2017 18:58

I'm literally eating cereal for breakfast, lunch, dinner and everything in between (please note: slight exaggeration Grin). I don't even discriminate, all cereals are perfect. I'm of course eating my main meals as normal, but I just can't seem to get enough of cereal!! It was salty foods for the first 7, 8 weeks I'd say, I could not stand the sight of anything sweet, it just made my stomach turn. But slowly getting back into them.

sewsewmum · 20/11/2017 20:33

Thank you @Needmorehands I rather naively/arrogantly thought I didn’t need the social side of NCT as most of my friends have young children. However, the OH dealt me a rather hefty reality check when he pointed out that most of my social life comes from work (in the city) and that we’re about to move to a new town where I know nobody. He’s concerned I might become isolated if I don’t go meet some people at NCT and, when he puts it like that, I kind of see his point.

Needmorehands · 20/11/2017 21:02

@Mayah - I love bowls of cereal too - my go-to snack. I'm very keen on pasta with pesto as well - anyone noticing a can't-be-bothered-to-cook theme here? and I seem to be eating a lot of slices of asda pork and egg pie - it has to be the one with hard boiled eggs in!
And @sewsewmum - I'm dithering about doing NCT again. On one side I don't know many mums with very small children, on the other hand its quite a lot of money :(
My secret weapon is that I run a coffee shop and have been building links with the local breastfeeding support group as I used to be a peer supporter....

Fizzysx · 20/11/2017 21:14

Is it just me? Ive got been craving anything or even very hungry the past week and a half. I can feel my stomach stretching and it’s actually making me feel a little nausea literally just been eating 3 meals a day no snacks. Hopefully this nausea passes soon!

sewsewmum · 20/11/2017 23:02

Your secret weapon sounds amazing, @Needmorehands What a great way to meet more mums!

Good luck for your midwife appointment next week. Mine’s not until the week after; I’m getting desperate for an update and a sign everything is still ok in there. I’ve been feeling way too normal!

Mayah · 20/11/2017 23:19

Downer alert!

I woke up this morning with brown discharge, didn't really fuss about it. I just wore a panty liner to monitor the flow or any changes. I've had a weird sensation all day in the womb-ish area, sort of like a light period pain. I've just gone to the loo, and when I've wiped, there was fresh red blood, not spotting but not heavy. Significant enough amount to now have me googling miscarriage signs. My first scans not till next thursday. DH is trying to take my mind off it but has anyone else experienced this? I'm 12+5

Mayah · 21/11/2017 02:02

Downer update:

I think it's safe to say I've just miscarried. I'll spare you the gory details, but it's definitely passed. At my parents house at the moment, and no one knew I was pregnant so I'll have to wait till tomorrow to get myself to the hospital. After the initial shock, I think I've accepted it now. Everything happens for a reason.

I wish the rest of you well with your pregnancies. Do take care of yourselves. Hugs and kisses Flowers

InRainbows · 21/11/2017 06:13

So sorry to hear this Mayha, sounds like you are coping incredibly well. Flowers

PGTips83 · 21/11/2017 09:38

Mayha I'm so sorry you've had this experience. I hope you'd told people now so they can support you through this time. Be gentle with yourself xx

Mayah · 21/11/2017 13:23

I've just got back from the emergency antenatal unit, and they carried out a transvaginal scan which showed the cervix to still be closed and no sign of any further clots. Unfortunately, they couldn't conclude anything from that but the doctor said with the cervix being closed, baby could still be ok. I've been given a scan tomorrow afternoon so just have to wait and see. Flowers

Pennyfitzgerald91 · 21/11/2017 14:07

Fingers crossed for you. The body can do amazing things x

Needmorehands · 21/11/2017 17:49

Goodness @Mayah, you sound so calm. I don't know how I would cope with waiting overnight again! Wishing you all the best for tomorrow's scan

McTootBlowsOnHisBagpipe · 21/11/2017 18:30

All the best for tomorrow Mayah I really hope it's good news for you.

PatchworkWellies · 22/11/2017 08:50

@Mayah, hope today goes well 🌼

@sewsewmum, yes I'm East Surrey hospital too!

Mayah · 22/11/2017 15:29

So it looks like the baby stopped growing at 7/8 weeks, and it must have passed out with the clots I had the other day as there was no sign of it in the scan. Just got to go back for more bloods in a few days as I had raised HCG levels.

I've managed to accept it if I'm honest, just looking forward to trying again soon. But I honestly wish all of you all the best Flowers thank you all for your kind words, they mean a lot

BlueSky1980 · 22/11/2017 15:52

@Mayah I am so sorry for your loss. Take care of yourself. Enjoy some time doing things that make you happy & treat yourself to a glass of wine. Flowers

Hannahf89 · 22/11/2017 18:14

@Mayahi I'm so sorry - sending lots of love your way Flowers

BlueRaincoat89 · 24/11/2017 15:41

Had my scan yesterday and due date is 29th May so I just make this thread Smile The baby was wriggling around, can't believe I can't feel that! How's everyone else getting on? I'm finally starting to feel a bit brighter.

nats1017 · 27/11/2017 09:42

We decided to have a gender scan at 16 weeks over the weekend as we were so excited to know! And we have a little baby boy growing well ☺️ 💙 hard to believe I’m already far enough along to know the gender!

PatchworkWellies · 27/11/2017 12:46

@blueraincoat, yay another May baby! I'm due on 26th so late May too. Had scan 2 weeks ago at 12+3, certainly was amazing. I'm starting to feel baby, apparently it's normal to feel it earlier 2nd time around, last time I felt nothing until 16weeks.

Congrats @nats, I didn't know they could find out so early! Don't think we are going to find out but not fully decided yet!
