Hi, I'm new to the pregnancy board. I've just found out that I am pregnant with my 2nd (4 weeks today) and the NHS calculator says all being well I will be due around 12th May.

I couldn't see any threads for May yet - anyone just found out and want to join me?

DS has just turned 7 so I'm a bit rusty on this whole pregnancy thing!

So glad I’m not the only one who hates needles and blood! Not sure how I’m going to cope with any more blood tests. Managed to be brave and act like it was no bother which ended in me turning grey, having to lie down and strip off all my clothes in front of a huge fan.

Obviously don’t have it as bad as you girls but I am dreading further appointments now!!

LadyPug · 27/10/2017 09:47

Hey Gaeilge I’m 10+4 now but last week it was my worst week by far, I think week 9 is renowned for being the shittest week of being pregnant! It should hopefully start to get easier in a few weeks!

Scoutcat I totally feel for you, I’ve been there! I lose sleep the night before blood is taken!

Gaeilge · 27/10/2017 13:08

@LadyPug Thanks for the reassurance it's such a rollercoaster Confused

sewsewmum · 27/10/2017 18:56

@Gaeilge I was asking the same question at the beginning of the week. It’s been a tough couple of weeks at work but to come home and cry about it or just feel so depressed is quite extreme for me. I’m 11 weeks tomorrow and the fog has cleared quite a bit. How much of that is because things are better at work I don’t know.

One thing that wasn’t helping me though was being hungry all the time. Grazing throughout the day has certainly helped. Now just to get over the more recently severe morning sickness and I’ll be feeling much brighter!

MilfordFound · 28/10/2017 05:47

@ladypug is it finally scan day for you? Good luck!

LadyPug · 28/10/2017 07:27

It is Milford thanks for asking! I’m so excited and so nervous! It’s not till this evening so a long time to wait!

Gaeilge · 28/10/2017 10:11

@sewsewmum Thanks for the tip I'll try anything at this stage Smile

Hi All, came off this thread a few weeks ago as was having lots of problems with baby, had quite a bit of bleeding and looked like I was going to loose him/her a couple of times and didn’t think it was fair to spoil everyone’s excitement by updating on this thread.
But happy to report.....I had my 12 week scan yesterday and everything seems to have resolved, baby was wriggling around on the screen and wouldn’t stay still, so it took ages to get measurements but was lovely to see and baby measured 12 weeks to the day :)
@LadyPug good luck for your scan today

Hannahf89 · 28/10/2017 10:49

@rasberryandlime Congratulations on your scan, that's great news! It must have been such a relief.

@LadyPug good luck today!

LadyPug · 28/10/2017 10:49

Oh hi Raspberry I wondered where you were! Sorry that you’ve been through all of this stress, it sounds awful but I’m so glad it’s ok and your scan went well and congrats on making it to 12 weeks! Not 12 weeks here but the scan is an early one so fingers crossed all is ok! Thank you :-)

LadyPug · 28/10/2017 10:50

Thank you Hannah

LadyPug · 28/10/2017 19:57

Scan all good! Phew!!!! Thanks everyone :-)

MilfordFound · 28/10/2017 20:05

raspberryandlime lovely to see you back. Sorry you've had a rough time, I bet you've been through an emotional wringer. Really glad all is ok, congratulations Smile

rasberryandlime · 28/10/2017 20:53

Thanks @MilfordFound, yes has been a horrible few weeks but finally starting to relax now. @LadyPug really glad your scan went ok, did you get some good pics of baby?

LadyPug · 28/10/2017 20:59

Thanks Raspberry the pictures weren’t great quality (I guess as only 10+5) but here is one! It was so lovely to see baby moving so much!

scoutcat · 28/10/2017 21:19

@LadyPug That’s brilliant! I bet you’re so relieved now!

LadyPug · 28/10/2017 21:25

So relieved scout and my dates were right which makes me so happy! I’m not doing week nine twice! Hurrah!

Mayah · 28/10/2017 21:59

@RaspberryandLime @LadyPug awwww guys I am so glad to hear your scans went well. I can't imagine what you were going through @raspberry, but so glad to hear everything is well!!

rasberryandlime · 28/10/2017 22:52

@LadyPug that’s a great pic for an early scan, much better than mine were, you can see baby’s little face starting to form. It’s amazing how much bigger they look in a week or so at the 12 week scan though :)

LadyPug · 28/10/2017 23:04

Ah thanks raspberry for the first time I’m pleased that my 12 week scan isn’t until 13 weeks as I know I’ll get a better look if it’s later! :-)

DareToDream89 · 29/10/2017 08:05

Hi everyone I need some advise please. I'm 11 weeks preg with my first baby and last night and this morning I have had some spotting. I called the midwife and they said it's nothing to worry about as it's not fresh red blood. I can't help but worry I don't have my scan until 9th November but can't help feeling that something is not right. My husband has said don't worry but I just have a feeling something's not right and I can't put my finger on it. Any advice greatly appreciated. Xx

Hannahf89 · 29/10/2017 08:45

@DareToDream89 I'm 10 weeks and have had a small amount of brown spotting this week too. I also had it at 6 weeks and had a private scan at 7 and everything was fine. That's keeping me positive.

Mine seems to come about after sex or a BM (sorry if TMI!). Could anything like that have caused yours? It's really hard not to worry but it's good that it's not red blood.

LadyPug · 29/10/2017 08:50

Hi daretodream someone told me that this can quite common around the time you would normally have af so could be that? It doesn’t sound like to much to worry about but I understand you’re worried as I had the same at 6 weeks and freaked. Would paying for a private scan be an option?

DareToDream89 · 29/10/2017 08:52

@Hannahf89 no not had any inter course this week, that's why I'm a little worried.
I really wanted an early scan but husband said we didn't need one.
I know I'm possibly overreacting but something just doesn't feel right xx

LadyPug · 29/10/2017 08:59

You’re not overacting, I think it’s important to trust instinct but don’t rule out fear and hormones (so it’s not always instinct that plays a factor). Your DH was right, you didn’t need an early scan but things change so if you feel like you need one now and you can afford it, I would book it for peace of mind
