Hi, I'm new to the pregnancy board. I've just found out that I am pregnant with my 2nd (4 weeks today) and the NHS calculator says all being well I will be due around 12th May.

I couldn't see any threads for May yet - anyone just found out and want to join me?

DS has just turned 7 so I'm a bit rusty on this whole pregnancy thing!

hannah oh I completely agree with you about the boobs! I'm 8+2 And mine are definitely bigger, I was an f cup already so cant imagine what they will be in another 7 months!

Hannahf89 · 09/10/2017 08:48

@smu06set I'm a G with a 28 back so they already looked too big for me. I'll probably be in the circus in 7 months! Thank God for bravissimo though, is that where you usually buy from?

smu06set · 09/10/2017 18:49

I actually buy mine from asda - their t-shirt bras go up to a g cup and are the most comfy I've found!

Mayah · 10/10/2017 14:16

Is anyone else finding this phase of the pregnancy such a weird time. You have nothing to show for your pregnancy except the nausea and whatever other symptoms you may have. Sometimes I'm thinking am I even pregnant, Is it all in my head? I'm only 6+6 weeks so far, so haven't even had a midwife appointment yet. I'll probably feel like this until the first scan where we finally see the little angel growing inside of me.

PatchworkWellies · 10/10/2017 14:56

@mayah, totally! I was exactly the same last time and sat in the waiting room for the scan thinking that they would tell me there was nothing there! I feel more sick this time (or maybe I have less to take my mind off it!!) so keep reminding myself that it's a good sign. I'm 7+1 today, midwife on Fri so hopefully it will feel as though things get moving then!

Kit17 · 11/10/2017 19:11

I'm 8+2 and not convinced anything's really happening! Shock Other than being completely exhausted and rather constipated (TMI!), life is completely as normal! I agree, maybe when the scan is done it will feel real??

Elvi1 · 11/10/2017 19:33

Kit17 that sounds like my first pregnancy but without the exhaustion - only symptom was constipation. This is my second pregnancy and I feel awful - I feel constantly sick, exhausted and generally under-the-weather. I remember feeling the same as you in my first pregnancy and wishing I felt pregnant but boy do I appreciate the lack of symptons now 🤒

Mayah · 11/10/2017 22:42

The constipation drives me insane. I don't think I've had a decent toilet trip in days. I've had nausea for over a week now, sweet foods, anything creamy and anything fried just makes my stomach turn, And I have a constant sore tummy all day. Had my possible first morning sickness experience this morning, but I hadn't eaten yet so it was just yellow liquid. Does anyone know if it's safe to take paracetamol for the nausea?

Hannahf89 · 12/10/2017 10:58

@Mayah I've not had morning sickness yet, but quite bad food aversions. The only things I can stomach are bread and fruit. The thought of everything else makes me feel sick. I'm not sure if I should try and eat something that I don't fancy and see how it goes. I'm not sure if paracetomal would help with morning sickness, but you can definitely take it whilst pregnant.

Kit17 · 13/10/2017 22:52

@Mayah I don't know about paracetamol (although a friend takes Calpol for headaches on the advice of her dr I believe), but several people have recommended ginger biscuits to relieve nausea.

LadyPug · 14/10/2017 23:31

Hey everyone, just popping in to say hello as I lost the thread but found you all again!

DancerMumma · 15/10/2017 08:48

Hi everyone, just found this thread and found it reasurring that I'm not the only one feeling like I could have made this all up! I'm 7+5, and feeling rotten! Nausea constantly, can't sleep properly, either hungry or off food completely, mild cramping all the time, boobs are growing and painful, headaches all the time, the list is endless!

Hope everyone's going smoothly, waiting for midwife to call at some point next week for first appointment! Eek! Xx

Mayah · 15/10/2017 12:51

@DancerMumma definitely not alone in this. I wake up every night about 4am and I can't get to sleep for hours because I feel so rotten. I'm 7+4 today

I've booked my first appointment for 30th October, I'll be 10+5 by then. I'm not sure what happens tho, is it just questions regarding health?

LittlePea18 · 15/10/2017 13:19

DancerMumma you are definitely not alone.

My nausea has only really just kicked off and I’m 10 weeks.
I’m pretty much off meat and fish, I get cramping most of the time. Although headaches and tiredness aren’t as prominent now.
I have a horrible feeling I have twins.
I’m really not enjoying pregnancy currently ConfusedI can’t wait for this part to move over!

DancerMumma · 15/10/2017 13:29

@mayah Apparently it takes about an hour and a half, they'll do blood tests and BP, and loads of health questions!

@littlepea18 roll on second trimester where apparently there's energy?!! Not looking forward to tonight's night shift after being awake since 6am!

LadyPug · 15/10/2017 15:10

So ill at this end! 9 weeks tomorrow and feel like death warmed up! Had booking in this week, was 1.5 hours, talked about previous birth, asked lots of questions and took blood. Now awaiting scan date!! Can’t wait for second trimester, feel so rough all the time!

Hannahf89 · 15/10/2017 16:06

Hi everyone, feeling rough here too. Finally got the nausea and had a 3 day migraine to go with it. Saw the midwife on Friday for a pointless 10 minutes where she explained what would happen at the booking in appointment.

Had my early reassurance scan today, so glad I did. Nice to see that a baby is actually there with a strong heart beat. It measures 8+1 which is exactly right. Even though something could still go wrong I'm a lot less anxious - had a few years of relief.

*Tears not years!

87arshaw · 15/10/2017 17:05

@DancerMumma I'm sorry you're feeling pants but I'm also re-assured that I'm not the only one. I've always imagined that I would feel so 'womanly and holistic' during pregnancy but I'm not enjoying it at all. Nausea all day, don't know what to eat, exhausted and my boobs tingle all the time. I'm reassured that this will go eventually!

Hope you start to perk up soon x

LittlePea18 · 16/10/2017 13:12

87arshaw - That's exactly what i thought!
I thought I'd feeling a bit pooy but i wouldn't bat an eye lid because i would feel so glorious with pregnancy - Wrong i was.

Everyone says to me "think of the end result - you'll have a gorgeous child" - hmmm, I can't say that thought scratches the surface of how I'm feeling Grin

Now this might be a bit TMI but has anyone experienced sharp, twinges down by the entrance of your nunny (sorry, the most kindest word i could think of) Blush

DancerMumma · 16/10/2017 13:35

Hate feeling rubbish, trying to hide it from everyone is the worst part! It's difficult! How did you get an early reassurance scan @hannahf89 ? Was it private or NHS?

Hannahf89 · 16/10/2017 15:35

@DancerMumma it was a private scan. I've been so anxious and worried that I thought £50 isn't a lot for a bit of reassurance. DH also thought it would ruin our holiday in a couple of weeks if we're so worried so we had it done and we're a lot happier now.

DancerMumma · 16/10/2017 15:53

@hannahf89 £50 isn't bad at all! I may have to look into it just to make it feel real and like it's actually happening!

Hannahf89 · 16/10/2017 18:17

@DancerMumma we're based in Manchester so there were loads of places doing them and the prices ranged from £50 to about £75. We went with the cheapest and luckily it was a really nice place and the staff were confident and calming (which I needed!).

Is this your first? I imagine if I'd done it before I wouldn't be so worried but it's new ground for us and we're clueless!

MilfordFound · 16/10/2017 19:16

LittlePea18 Fanny daggers, yep not nice are they?!

Ive gone on about this already in another thread and possibly this one I can't remember... but I've had 2 reassurance scans at My Baby Scan in Burscough Lancashire at £29 each so really good value. They are super nice! The staff are also the NHS sonographers in my local hospital, I'm hoping I get Mandy at my 13wk scan too Smile

I'm feeling dreadful, constantly nausea and intermittant heartburn. I'm eating all the time, can't let my stomach get empty as it makes me feel worse. Ive put on weight and have a mini bump that is mainly just chubb.

My first nhs scan is next Monday I'll be 11w5days. I'm looking forward to it, bit nervous as you never know, but once it's done I think we'll start telling people which is fun.

I need to get some bigger bras, I have ginormo boobs already Angry
