Hi, I'm new to the pregnancy board. I've just found out that I am pregnant with my 2nd (4 weeks today) and the NHS calculator says all being well I will be due around 12th May.

I couldn't see any threads for May yet - anyone just found out and want to join me?

DS has just turned 7 so I'm a bit rusty on this whole pregnancy thing!

Hey JC my sickness stopped at 13 weeks last time! I'm hoping it's the same or less this time but everyone is different, I've had friends have sickness the entire pregnancy!

HackneyP · 30/09/2017 09:02

JC30 I definitely have an increase in appetite. I've started having toast for breakfast (never used to bother with anything) and by midday I'm really hungry. I haven't been doing brilliantly at healthy eating so far as I seem to just want carbs but did have satsumas to snack on yesterday afternoon. I'm only 5+5 and I have gained 2lbs so I'm a bit worried about that I need to keep an eye on it. Anyone else put on weight in the very early stages?

Hannahf89 · 30/09/2017 10:57

Blush so embarrassed discussing this, but would like some advice. My husband and I had sex last night - it wasn't penetrative, I had a clitoral orgasm. Again ,Blush

Anyway, today I had a really small amount of brown blood. Has anyone else experienced this and should I be concerned? Confused

ziggymarl · 30/09/2017 11:23

@JC30
I've found dry shredded wheat helps, I keep some near bed and in my desk at work. Also lemons help, in water, just sniffing them also. Peppermint tea has been a Godsend for me.

I try to avoid anything oily and creamy which tends to make it worse🤢

ziggymarl · 30/09/2017 11:26

@Hannahf89 how many weeks are you? It could be left over blood from implantation.

Mayah · 30/09/2017 11:29

@Hannahf89 I have seen a bit about brown or pink blood after sex, and apparently it's perfectly normal, you should only be worried if it's red blood they say. But no need to be embarrassed, we're all here to talk and listen Grin if you are worried I'd say just have a chat with your GP about it.

Hannahf89 · 30/09/2017 11:39

@ziggymarl I'm 6 weeks today. It was dark brown (TMI) so I'm hoping that it is just old blood.

@Mayah Thanks! I've read about blood after sex too but assumed that would be after penetration? I've read that the orgasm makes the cervix move and can cause old blood to come out. I've also read that all sex is bad in the first 12 weeks, but the NHS don't say that so I'll ignore. I'm going to monitor it and contact my GP if it continues. My reassurance scan can't come soon enough!

Kit17 · 30/09/2017 22:56

TMI warning ⚠️
The last few days I've had a really small amount of slightly brownish discharge - I'm almost 7 weeks. Anyone else had anything similar? It is something I sometimes get around my period anyway, so it's not that unusual for me, but I haven't had it since my BFP. 🤔

LadyPug · 30/09/2017 22:58

Hi kit I started getting this on Sunday and it got more and more, always dark brown, never more than a two pence piece size at most. Got sent to epu for internal scan, saw baby, all fine. Bleeding continued though and so far (touch wood) today is day seven and no blood for first time in whole week but hopefully it's nothing to worry about!

Kit17 · 30/09/2017 23:43

Thanks @LadyPug - sounds like it's nothing to worry about then. Mine has been less than a 1p piece and doesn't seem to be getting more or less (it's been 3 days) so I'll just keep an eye. :)

Hello everyone,

Can I join? I'm new to Mumsnet (still need to come up with a username). I'm 8 weeks tomorrow. It's my first pregnancy and I found out last week it's twins!!!!

My IVF clinic has me on a cocktail of drugs which has swollen me up, I look about 5 months pregnant!

Really excited on this next chapter but a little nervous about having two!

LadyPug · 01/10/2017 10:14

Welcome member I think you're the first twins on the board! Big congratulations!

Kit17 · 01/10/2017 10:45

Rea82 · 01/10/2017 12:58

Hi all I'm a first time mum and I'm now 7 + 3 weeks, due on the 18th May. I called my doctors last week, and yesterday I got my first midwife appointment that's not until 31st October. Is this normal? As yet no morning sickness, but feeling incredibly tired.
Hope all the new mums are doing ok too x

LadyPug · 01/10/2017 13:17

Hi Rea82 I think so yes, I believe the booking in appt is anywhere between 8 and 12 weeks but I'm not certain of this. It sounds pretty normal though. You will hopefully receive a scan appointment through in the meantime for the week after! Congratulations and well done on avoiding the ms thus far, it's slowly killing me!

wilkojnr · 01/10/2017 13:28

Hi All, I'm a first time mum and will be 40 when baby is born (due date 23rd May) and I'm 6 + 4 weeks. I'm a little apprehensive about it all - wishing the days away until 12 wk scan to be honest. I'm guessing that's normal? I have a little nausea and am exhausted (but this is quite normal for me as I suffer with ME/CFS) but other than that all ok. Xx

SaffaQueen · 01/10/2017 15:07

Hi all, first time joining one of these boards... Due 19 May, this will be my third child. Had a miscarriage at 9.5 weeks in July, so really nervous about first trimester... This week is the first week I feel pregnant - feeling nauseous around food & suddenly craving marmite. Has to be a good sign, right?

Chipsahoy · 01/10/2017 16:05

I had my booking in appointment yesterday. I was so excited after. Today I started bleeding. I'm devastated.

LadyPug · 01/10/2017 16:09

Welcome to the newbies! Try not to worry chips it might not necessarily be a miscarriage. How are you feeling? Have you spoken to midwife?

Chipsahoy · 01/10/2017 17:33

Yeah. She advised me to ring 111 but said I'd not get a scan today. I have no childcare so I'll have to wait and see my Gp tomorrow.
The bleeding has stopped. Tmi but it was during a bowel.movement. It stopped right after. I am cramping slightly tho.
Horrible, in limbo feeling. I don't wanna have false hopes.
