Hi, I'm new to the pregnancy board. I've just found out that I am pregnant with my 2nd (4 weeks today) and the NHS calculator says all being well I will be due around 12th May.

I couldn't see any threads for May yet - anyone just found out and want to join me?

DS has just turned 7 so I'm a bit rusty on this whole pregnancy thing!

So i had a early scan today, from my dates im 5+5, had a vaginal ultrasound and the could see a yolk sac that measured nearly 6 weeks and every thing looked healthy and as it should for this early. Obviously couldnt see a baby because its so early but theyre really happy with how everything looks and have booked me in for 2 weeks time when i will be nearly 8 weeks just to make sure everythings growing as it should and to actually see my baby!! Xx

rasberryandlime · 28/09/2017 21:52

@LadyPug I know how you feel, have had quite a bit more bleeding since my early scan too, so the scan seems to reassure me for about 24 hours then that's it. Fingers crossed for us both x

LadyPug · 28/09/2017 21:58

Thanks raspberry so stressful isn't it? Hooray motherofboy great news!

readysetcake · 28/09/2017 22:19

Really hope everything goes well for you ladypug and raspberry.

That's brilliant news MummyOf1Boy!

bunny your commute sounds hard core! Mine is a 5 minute walk as of next week. I'm feeling very luck right now!

weaselwomble · 28/09/2017 22:55

Can I ask - for first babies it's still just an appointment at around 8 weeks and scan at 12? You all seem to be having scans now and I'm worries I've missed something :D

Mayah · 28/09/2017 23:45

Hello all! Aww it makes me so happy to hear so many of us are in the same position. I'm 5w and due 31st May according to the app I have. I'm still taking tests out of disbelief haha. I got a pack if 30 from Amazon for about £2. This was my first time trying since getting my implant removed August 22nd. And it appears I got pregnant straight away! I've had tender breasts, tiredness, crazyyy mood swings, constipation one day diarrhea the next, and quite uncomfortable cramps. I've googled these cramps so many times and they're all described as mild, although mine are mild most of the time, I get very strong ones at least once a day for the past week. No bleeding so hopefully everything is ok. I've moved cities last year and it's taken me till now to actually register with a new GP. So I have an induction appointment before I can become an official patient, which includes blood and urine samples so I'm hoping to discuss my pregnancy then.

Mummy2018 · 29/09/2017 00:06

Hello again, hope you are all doing well.

Have to ask have you ladies started showing at all? I'm 9 weeks have what looks like a clear bump, but surely that's not possible so early especially as this is my first!
Haven't even been over eating due suffering with morning sickness and complete loss of appetite, full after a few mouthfuls of food...
I was never a slim one but that bump definitely wasn't there a few weeks ago - is it just really bad bloating?
(Picture was taken earlier on today)
My friends keep joking that I'm having twins but surely even if I was (which I very much doubt I am) I wouldn't be showing this quick still as baby is so small!
Maybe in just going mad and seeing things... Hehe :)

Also good to hear I'm not crazy and not the only one repeating pregnancy tests - I've been trying not to test every couple of days but that just doesn't seem possible. Although this week I have only tested twice , only as I waiting for a delivery to more tests as I've run out haha.

PatchworkWellies · 29/09/2017 06:51

Hi weaselwomble, in our area booking appt at 8 weeks and scan at 12 are standard. I think ppl having earlier scans are either paying for them or being offered because of symptoms/ past history. They've reduced our booking appt from 40 mins to 20 since I had my son 1.5 years ago which seems v short to me.

Featherf · 29/09/2017 07:51

Hi @weaselwomble I wouldn’t worry my booking appointment is when I’m 10 weeks not 8 and people have been having reassurance scans which unless doctor/midwife order its paid for. Try not to worry the midwife called me a week after i put my form into the doctors stating I was pregnant got another 4 weeks ish to wait yet to see anybody.

ziggymarl · 29/09/2017 07:58

@Needmorehands I spoke too soon. Nausea all day yesterday and today. 🤢🤢

However I am trying to wake up earlier than I need to, having a tea and dry cereal before I get up. Helps a bit I think.

Bunnyfluffy · 29/09/2017 08:30

Weasel my booking appointment is not until I'm 11 weeks!

Having an 8 week scan but paying for that privately.

Hannahf89 · 29/09/2017 08:45

@Mummy2018 I'm 5+6 and I've got a bit of a bump already! It has to be bloating as surely nothing would show yet. I have felt so bloated, it was the first symptom I noticed. I hope it goes down a bit before everyone figures it out.

Does anybody know if there's anything you can take for a cough? I asked in the pharmacy and they said there's nothing. General insomnia keeps me up for an hour in the middle of the night and the rest of the time I'm just coughing. So tired today.

Mayah · 29/09/2017 09:00

Try hot honey and lemon, fill half a glass with boiled water, 1 tbsp honey and squeeze in some lemon juice. Not the most pleasant of drinks but it really helps to soothe the throat

Mayah · 29/09/2017 09:01

@hannahf89 still new to this, forgot to @ you in my reply

LadyPug · 29/09/2017 09:08

Massive bump here but it comes and goes, clearly pregnancy shaped when it comes though, defo more obvious than first time round. Thank god for October and clever dressing although not sure I'll make it to 12 weeks at this rate without people knowing!

McTootBlowsOnHisBagpipe · 29/09/2017 09:43

@ziggymarl I'm jealous you're still drinking tea! I've gone right off it, which is gutting as I really enjoyed my tea breaks at work 😂 I'm Living off lemon squash at the moment.

I've lost so much weight so far due to not being able to eat properly.

@weaselwomble I had a scan at 6 weeks due to bleeding and my booking appintment is at 9 weeks.

Bunnyfluffy · 29/09/2017 09:59

I feel awful today. The nausea is insane! Took me 2 hours to get out of bed as any movement and I feel awful Sad

AlexsMum89 · 29/09/2017 10:24

I'm 8 weeks and I've got a bump too (it's my 2nd). I've had to buy maternity trousers which I'm absolutely loving as I've only been able to wear leggings for the past few weeks.
I'm on cyclizine for the sickness. It's really helping as I could barely get off the floor, but I still feel sick basically all of the time. And tired, so so tired.

ziggymarl · 29/09/2017 10:31

@McTootBlowsOnHisBagpipe oh no! I'll be honest I can't stand actual tea, only peppermint. I found that having an early morning routine has helped me alot today. Literally got up an hour before I needed to and sat up. I've also used food ziplock bags to store dry cereal and other dry snacks near my bed. If I wake up in the middle of the night to pee, I would grab a snack before or after as that usually stops the crazy hunger pains I get in the morning!

I'm 7 weeks today, can't wait to reach the "safe-zone" 🙏🏽

Hannahf89 · 29/09/2017 10:38

@Mayah Thanks - I've added honey to my shopping list! I hate honey but if it helps get rid of this cough I'm more than willing to drink it!

Has anybody been taking B6 for MS? I was on it when TTC and have carried on taking it as I read it helped with MS. I've had no nausea yet, bit it might just be a matter of time!

weaselwomble · 29/09/2017 12:42

Thanks for all the responses, you've put my mind at rest. I suspected it was private scan etc but you know when you're a bit like "I haven't got a clue how this works" and then convince yourself you're getting it wrong?Smile

EastDulwichWife · 29/09/2017 12:48

I'd love to join please! Mayah snap on the due date - I'm due on the 31st May too! Currently 5+1 and have been terribly worried this week, but calmed down a bit yesterday and today.

Appetite is down and I only fancy savory foods. Gone off tea and coffee so just drinking tons of water to quench my insatiable thirst! Very bloated (and gassy, nice). Can't sit down in my jeans at all...

Booked for an early scan at 7+4 to put my mind at rest. Can't wait for that Grin

Mayah · 29/09/2017 14:43

EastDulwichWife that's hilarious! I have the exact same thing. I am a coffee ADDICT and I only had my first coffee today in 4 weeks. Didn't really enjoy it, drank it mainly for the sake of having a coffee. And I have been all about savoury food, when usually I have a strong sweet tooth. I've been drinking more water in the past few weeks than I think I ever have. I just thought these things were all in my head haha. Nice to know I'm not alone

JC30 · 29/09/2017 23:21

So glad I'm not the only one who has been drinking water by the gallons...I had no idea being thirsty was a symptom. So sorry for those of you who are struggling with sickness. I've been feeling queasy most days but so hungry at the same time! I'm eating more often than I normally would as that helps ease the nausea but I don't want to be stuffing my face the whole time. Anyone else got an increase in appetite? What are you trying to snack on? I'm 8 weeks today - this is my first. When does the nausea usually stop?
