Hi, I'm new to the pregnancy board. I've just found out that I am pregnant with my 2nd (4 weeks today) and the NHS calculator says all being well I will be due around 12th May.

I couldn't see any threads for May yet - anyone just found out and want to join me?

DS has just turned 7 so I'm a bit rusty on this whole pregnancy thing!

@emilyjane1990 How lovely :) Hope it all goes well.

LadyPug · 24/09/2017 19:42

Hey everyone, just popping in to say hello! I've not read back on the messages from today yet but updating, I had my booking appt through today! 10th October, I'll be 8 weeks!

smu06set · 24/09/2017 20:40

ladybug same as me, first appointment on 10th october I'll be 8+4. Going to book an early scan for 8weeks too Smile

LadyPug · 24/09/2017 21:45

Hey smu I hate booking in appt as blood phobic! Just need that over with and I can get on with the pregnancy!

readysetcake · 25/09/2017 10:49

Good luck with your scans Kalalaka and emilyjane1990 hope they both goes well.

I'm 6 weeks today and starting to feel a bit sick yesterday and today. So taking that as a good sign! Also had my ectopic heartbeat start up that I had last pregnancy so taking that as another positive, even though it's a horrendous feeling and I hate it. Bloody scary at times. Anyone else have that in previous pregnancies or this time?

KalaLaka · 25/09/2017 12:14

Thank you mummy2

I have a Gp appt later to try to get referred for a scan at epu. May be a few days wait (aggghhh!) so I hope things improve by then. Luckily I'll be too busy to dwell on it all day! I'm hoping it's just my cervix being annoying.

KalaLaka · 25/09/2017 12:15

ladypug I have the same phobia! Close eyes, breathe deeply :) I fainted in my first booking in!

LadyPug · 25/09/2017 12:38

Hey everyone, 6 weeks today and just had some spotting. Do you think I should be concerned?

lulupregnant2 · 25/09/2017 14:52

@LadyPug spotting is perfectly normally at this stage of pregnancy! Try not to worry as long as it doesn't get too heavy with clots or your in pain then try to relax! You can always mention to your gp if your still feeling anxious about it.

rasberryandlime · 25/09/2017 16:26

@LadyPug have also been told spotting is normal and only to worry if get lots of bright red blood or pain. Know how hard it is not to worry about everything at this stage though :(

Had my follow up at the EPU today, baby had been measuring a week behind last week, but has now made up 3 days, so just 4 days behind now which they seem less worried about.

Have a bleed just below the sac which is causing some spotting and they want to keep an eye on, and the non-viable twin sac looks to have been reabsorbed which feels kind of sad but if I hadn't of had last weeks scan I wouldn't even of known it was ever there. So baby hanging on in there for now and keeping our fingers crossed for the next few weeks.

LadyPug · 25/09/2017 17:13

Thanks Lulu and Raspberry I have an early scan booked now for Wednesday so will find out what's going on. Nervous but at least I'll know!

MummyOf1Boy · 25/09/2017 19:34

Hi everyone, im have a early scan on Thursday and ill be 5+5 according to my dates. Will it be a internal scan or abdominal scan that early?

Its at the EPU because of some spotting i had last weekend

rasberryandlime · 25/09/2017 19:54

@LadyPug let us know how you get on, hopefully you will get some reassurance all is well

@MummyOf1Boy when I went for my private reassurance scan at about 6 weeks they tried abdominally first, but couldn't see anything so did an internal scan which allowed them to see much more.
At the EPU today they didn't even try an abdominal scan, and the lady said she always does internal prior to 8 weeks as she can see things much clearer and doesn't cause panic if she can't see anything. Hope all goes well on Thursday

Aceofspade · 25/09/2017 19:55

@mummyof1boy I got an internal scan at 5+3 but I've heard of others who have had abdominal around that time. I have my next one tomorrow so I'm hoping for an abdominal this time now I'm 7 weeks.

LadyPug · 25/09/2017 20:33

What's the internal like? Is it painful? Is it like a smear? Is it big or small? Sorry, so many questions! Will we be able to see the screen?

rasberryandlime · 25/09/2017 22:15

@LadyPug for the internal, they use what I can only describe as a giant vibrator instead of the doppler , looks scary but really doesn't hurt at all. As soon as it was in I didn't really feel it and was just watching the screen. I could see the screen on both of my scans, the midwife looked at it herself first then once she could see baby turned the screen around for me to see.

MummyOf1Boy · 25/09/2017 22:24

Thanks ladies, I wasnt sure what to expect xx

LadyPug · 25/09/2017 22:27

Omg raspberry that sounds terrifying!!!!!

rasberryandlime · 25/09/2017 22:38

@LadyPug it's really not, I did get a bit of a a shock when I saw the probe but only because I didn't expect it, once you get in there you will be only be interested in watching the screen and won't worry about it. It didn't hurt at all (less painful than a smear)

LadyPug · 25/09/2017 22:41

Oh wow ok, I have this vision of the fricking rabbit vibrator! Hahaha. On the plus side, this has made me laugh a lot today which I needed!

Mollybear12 · 25/09/2017 23:28

Hello may mummy's!!

I've not long found out! I'm due May 18th, I just feel really hungover !

Anyone with bad nausea try having a ginger biscuit, it works a treat as soon as I’ve eaten one the feeling goes away for a while! I now have packets stashed everywhere! I have heard ginger helps with nausea but didn’t realise it would help this much, I hope it helps too for those that are really feeling the nausea.

Bunnyfluffy · 26/09/2017 08:12

Oh dear the nausea has hit big time here Sad
I'm 5 +6 today

Felt fine yesterday (EXHAUSTED but not sick, I cycled the 7 miles home from the station) but I woke around 1/2am feeling really really sick and was up most of the night feeling sick (wasn't actually sick but feel AWFUL).

Thankfully I have a job where I can work from home a bit, so I'll email my boss and say I am working from home, but I can't do that every day. I'm also very worried as I am meant to be going abroad on a business trip next week and the week after I am meant to be speaking at an event...... I was hoping not to tell my boss I am pregnant just yet but might have to? Not sure I could do the business trip if feeling like I do now!

KalaLaka · 26/09/2017 09:57

Hi all, not good news for me today at epu, definite miscarriage this time. I hope you all have good pregnancies and it goes well for you all!

DareToDream89 · 26/09/2017 10:36

Just got my booking appointment confirmed with the midwife. Monday 16th October, I will be roughly 9weeks. The next few weeks are going to drag xx
