Hi, I'm new to the pregnancy board. I've just found out that I am pregnant with my 2nd (4 weeks today) and the NHS calculator says all being well I will be due around 12th May.

I couldn't see any threads for May yet - anyone just found out and want to join me?

DS has just turned 7 so I'm a bit rusty on this whole pregnancy thing!

@Bunnyfluffy I'm the same, I've googled far too much and all it's done is worked me up and stressed me out. It's no good.

readysetcake · 23/09/2017 12:28

I'm always freezing bunny definitely pregnancy related for me.
I wonder if women worried less in pregnancy before the internet?

Bunnyfluffy · 23/09/2017 15:09

I've been cycling today, was nice to do something to take my mind of things and I really enjoyed the fresh air.
However, it felt much harder work than normal, I've definitely slowed down already!

PopadomPointer · 23/09/2017 16:05

Zoo33 · 23/09/2017 19:57

Hi everyone. Got my BFP today, first pregnancy, due 31 May according to the NHS calculator thingy. Does anyone else go from worrying about not conceiving to worrying about miscarrying?? I clearly need to stay away from Google...

Mummy2018 · 23/09/2017 20:19

@Zoo33

Congratulations on your pregnancy :)
I feel exactly the same way as your describing, this is my first pregnancy too. I'm now 8wk + 1 day. My fiance and I tried for several months and I really had it in my head it wouldn't work then when I did I was over joyed... But now it feels like as I was so amazed i conceived surely I cant get 2 chances of luck and have a healthy pregnancy - this first 12 weeks seem to be the longest ever. Really need to stop googling, don't think its helping. I'm trying to not worry about it but its really hard and I'm sure many other pregnant women feel the same.

Zoo33 · 23/09/2017 20:33

@Mummy2018 Congratulations to you too! It's going to be a long wait to the 12 week scan (and beyond). I feel a bit of a fraud because we only started trying in May so it almost seems too good to be true. Confused But it's really exciting - I plan to enjoy being (mostly) symptom free while I can! How are you finding it all otherwise?

Mummy2018 · 23/09/2017 21:22

@Zoo33

It's sure is. I'm hoping after a 12 week scan that will help ease my mind a little bit - congrats on that, We spoke about trying a few months ago and said if it happens it happened. But then near the end of August we decided to start trying properly. Little did we know I had already worked :D

I haven't been too bad symptom wise, my only main symptom is being exhausted all the time and then nausea occasional vomiting mainly in morning since just over 5wks.

Hopefully you will not suffer to bad with symptoms either, but I do say in a weird way I'm glad I have experienced a bit of nausea as before that it really felt like I wasn't pregnant (it still doesn't feel real) and it made me panic more, wondering why I didn't have any symptoms.

Bunnyfluffy · 23/09/2017 22:05

Argh I am so bloated! A friend who is a similar build to me has just put a photo of her 4 month bump on Facebook - I'm bigger already and I'm only 5 weeks 3 days Hmm

Mummy2018 · 23/09/2017 22:27

Think its an early pregnancy sign... I feel so bloated too, looks like a have a huge bump! (but I'm only 8wks so cant be a bump already surely)wonder when the bloating will go down?

HackneyP · 23/09/2017 23:01

I'm 4 plus 3 at the moment and have sore boobs and definitely feel more tired than usual but nothing else yet. When do most symptoms kick in?

Featherf · 23/09/2017 23:34

Hi everyone, I got my BFP on Wednesday and found out from the calculator my expected due date is 22nd May which makes me 5 weeks and a few days, first pregnancy so nervous! Very very bloated already had to do the hairband/elastic band trick with my work trousers as button was pressing into my stomach and not helping the nausea feeling! Already had to go home early sick and worried work colleagues are going to start guessing already! Partners supportive chat was well its only going to get worse and to put my poker face on! Any advice appreciated!

Featherf · 24/09/2017 00:36

@lulupregnant2 Hi there i had the same thing near enough worked out on the calculator I was 5 weeks but on the clear blue test said 2-3 weeks i was so confused then found this:

uk.clearblue.com/clearblue-pregnancy-tests-range/digital-pregnancy-test-with-weeks-indicator

Read the read your results section and see if this helps.

Zoo33 · 24/09/2017 08:14

@Mummy2018 Well done on getting pregnant before you really started trying! That's impressive work.

@Featherf Thanks for posting that - I was getting confused how 2-3 weeks could equal 4 weeks and was starting to think I was broken.

Well I've been awake since 3am so am feeling delirious. I really hope this isn't the start of 8 months of insomnia. Also feeling sicky but hungry - like the feeling you get when you're starving, but it came on after I'd only just eaten dinner! Confused

rebbykay · 24/09/2017 08:14

I'm 8 weeks 1 day, due 5th May - 5 days before my birthday! We went for a reassurance scan yesterday on Harley Street and it was absolutely awesome. It's our first baby and I'm now officially excited - I had been anxious and panicked that I was imagining the whole thing!

On the down side, I've got terrible, painful bloating and wind. It's like nothing I've ever felt before! I've managed to avoid vomiting so far but my morning sickness consists of nausea all the frickin' time and swapping between urgent diarrhoea and constipation. I have never felt so sexy in my life...

LadyPug · 24/09/2017 08:54

Hey everyone, welcome to all of the newbies! So excited to have you here, look how many of us there are now! Hooray for everyone having their scans, I'm not having an early scan so it feels like forever!!! But I'm six weeks tomorrow and that's a milestone for me to reach.

Hannahf89 · 24/09/2017 10:06

@rebbykay would you recommend an early scan then? I'm tossing up whether to get one. My husband thinks we should just wait until 12 weeks but he doesn't have all the anxiety. We're going on a little weekend break before 12 weeks which I don't want to ruin with my worrying! Did you get a clear image and a heart beat?

I'm still feeling super bloated and I'm coming down with a cold. Also have sore boobs but cramping has lessened a lot.

Featherf · 24/09/2017 11:13

Im also considering an reassurance scan my bf and his ex had a bad experience and he’s still not over years later, I can tell he’s so nervous he’s doesn’t want to get excited I fell so under pressure because of it so thinking it might calm us both down.

Mummy2018 · 24/09/2017 12:00

@Zoo33

Haha, Thank you. I had been monitoring my OV date due to irregular cycle lengths so was hoping to get an idea of when I was OV. For the first 4mths I never had a positive OV, OH just said I must of kept missing them but i started to feel really worried something was wrong and we wouldn't be able to conceive. But 11th Aug, we got intimate and I received a my 1st positive OV. A week after we spoke about actually going for it and tracking my OV more etc. So we just had 4mths preparing time before really trying, I also started taking Folic Acid about 4mths before finding out I'm pregnant due to having spina bifida in my family.

Mummy2018 · 24/09/2017 12:07

@Featherf
Good find with that link, that really confused me at the beginning. The amount of googling I don't trying to work it out. But I noticed on the instructions it says (e.g. If result is 2-3 weeks doctor would date you as 4-5 weeks etc). All a bit confusing, as I was think surely they cant include 1-2 week before even conceived as pregnant but I guess they do... Oh well if it means I'm closer to that 12 weeks scan then I'm happy :)

Has anyone got their booking appointment with the midwife yet? Or had theirs? I have mine next week and was wondering what to expect.

Mummy2018 · 24/09/2017 12:16

@rebbykay
Congratulations. I really want to go for a reassurance scan but money is really tight this month due to OH changing job recently. I'm trying to find out as cheap as possible, really think it will put my mind at ease, to see there is actually a baby in there - it all seems to unreal. I'm working on convincing the OH to let me book the scan. Did you get to listen to the heart beat? Could you see he/she moving?

emilyjayne1990 · 24/09/2017 18:56

Congrats to all the new BFP's!
I have my reassurance scan on Tuesday afternoon - excited/nervous!

KalaLaka · 24/09/2017 19:02

Hi mummy, booking appt is where they fill in a booklet with your medical history, and the baby's father's too. They take your blood pressure, weigh you and prob ask you to do a urine sample. They may take bloods (can't remember when they do this!). They ask where you are thinking of giving birth. That's pretty much it, I think.

KalaLaka · 24/09/2017 19:06

Feeling worried and a bit deflated as i have brown spotting. Will have to wait and see, I suppose... Confused

Mummy2018 · 24/09/2017 19:18

@kalalaka
Thank you for the information. Thought that was probably what it would be about - more getting to know us and getting information.

Ahh bless you... I'm keeping my fingers crossed for you - praying everything is okay. Stay strong.
