Hi, I'm new to the pregnancy board. I've just found out that I am pregnant with my 2nd (4 weeks today) and the NHS calculator says all being well I will be due around 12th May.

I couldn't see any threads for May yet - anyone just found out and want to join me?

DS has just turned 7 so I'm a bit rusty on this whole pregnancy thing!

Booked a private scan for a couple of weeks' time (I'm 5+1 today). Just wish I could fast-forward the next couple of weeks.

I'm going mad, need to stop Googling miscarriage statistics. I just keep thinking, please let this baby be ok, over and over.
Really need to keep busy for the next few weeks.

LadyPug · 21/09/2017 22:54

Wow thanks raspberry that's so reassuring to hear!

Elvi1 · 22/09/2017 02:06

Hey all! I'm tentatively joining the group. I've just found out I'm around 5 weeks pregnant with no.2. It took us around 18 months to conceive no.1 (although sadly had a mmc before him) so we are super surprised that I got pregnant during the first month of trying. This is a much wanted baby but I feel annoyed at myself that I have conflicting feelings about the pregnancy - I have irrational thoughts about how I can possibly share the love I have for my first born with another child, how we are really happy in our existing family unit, we are finally at the stage where we get a descent amount of sleep and my family/work/social life balance is great etc....I feel guilty as it must appear to dh that I'm lacking enthusiasm. I know that these feelings will pass and that if this pregnancy didn't work out I would be devastated. Am I alone in feeling like this? Maybe it's the hormones.

Lionnose · 22/09/2017 08:25

Hi Elvi1 nice to meet another newbie to the group. I'm feeling quite similar to you. Although this is my first I had a mc this time last year. I felt very unsure and nervous about becoming a mum but when we lost it I was devastated. I'm worried about lots of things this time. I love my life at the moment but I'm sure it will only get better. I hope it's just the hormones. I think until I've had my 12 week scan I'm going to be all over the place. Congratulations on your speedy pregnancy this time around!

Welcome Laura we are due date buddies :) I know just how you feel, I had a mc before my daughter, these first weeks are the worst. And also the SLOWEST! I feel I've been pregnant for ages and I'm not even 6 bloody weeks yet x

Lauraloo85 · 22/09/2017 10:59

Ye its difficult, i find my self peeing on stick to check my hcg levels because my doctors dont think its necessary to see me earlier than 8-10 weeks or to take bloods. Nice to have someone whos feeling the same at the same amount of weeks pregnant. Xx

DareToDream89 · 22/09/2017 11:22

I had a totally wasted appointment yesterday. I thought I was seeing midwife/gp to have my booking appointment but I saw a health care assistant who basically asked if I had taken a pregnancy test and was it positive? And then she just wanted to check my details were correct in order to refer me to the midwife! I now have to wait for midwife to contact me, I'm so impatient! Anyone else feeling impatient?

lulupregnant2 · 22/09/2017 13:29

I'm 6 weeks plus 3 today and I woke up today and I just don't feel pregnant :-( I had sore boobs and have been crampy for the last week but today nothing. So worried!

KalaLaka · 22/09/2017 13:57

lulu the cramps don't last for much longer than the first couple of weeks so that could be a reason?

DaisyMay25 · 22/09/2017 17:06

@DareToDream89 the midwife called me the day after so fingers crossed for you! I called her today with a few worries and she was so nice and reassuring! I'm impatient too, this 6 weeks are going to be long!

@lulupregnant2 strangely for me my boobs aren't sore at night, just morning and sat, they seem to ease off at night, my cramps seem to be easing too 😊

Toffee86 · 22/09/2017 19:30

Hi Ladies,

I was hoping to join this thread 🙂 I'm 6 weeks pregnant today - found out 2 weeks ago and I am super excited! This will be our first baby 👶

However, It has been THE longest 2 weeks ever! I've been in so much pain....like really bad period pain....the sort that stops you in your tracks, wakes you up at night and keeps you off work. I've been to hospital for an early scan (not ectopic thankfully) and I'm just trying to get on with things. Between this and being incredibly bloated (my jeans are hurting like hell), these first 2 weeks have not been what I imagined. Does anyone have any pain relief advice? I realise I'm being a bit of a drama queen but this is starting to get me down.

Wishing you all healthy and happy pregnancies!

lampert · 22/09/2017 19:43

Sorry you are suffering @Toffee86, I hope it eases up for you soon. I am feeling a bit miserable with cramps today too, I've had them since three days before I tested but I'm only 4weeks 4 days and it's been worse today. I have luckily been working from home so my hot water bottle has been glued to my lap. It's so hard not to worry even though I know cramps are normal!

Mamamamamamama · 22/09/2017 19:53

😍 me too please @Doublechocolatetiffin

Mamamamamamama · 22/09/2017 19:59

@emilyjayne1990 you have the cutest bump!!

This is my second pregnancy and feel like I've had every symptom in the book Shock sore boobs, massive and sore nipples, nausea, vomiting, the runs, no appetite, I've lost weight .. the list goes on Shock I only had sore boobs with my first .. body hair has even got darker already ahhh I feel like super duper pregnant this time ... please tell me I'm not alone 😂

Toffee86 · 22/09/2017 20:48

Awh, thanks for the sympathetic words @lampert .... sometimes it's just nice to have someone to talk to about these things! I hope your pains get easier too. The cramps are normal - they just suck!!!!

Aceofspade · 22/09/2017 23:10

Hi everyone,

I'm 6 + 3 today with my first😊. It's so reassuring to hear everyone's stories. @toffee86 I'm totally the same as you! I had to go to the EPU for a scan last weekend and have a further review next week. The pain was unbearable however the scan said everything was fine (it ended up being a urine infection!). I found the best pain relief was a hot water bottle. Much better than paracetamol.

lampert · 23/09/2017 07:15

Great news that everything was ok @Aceofspade!

My tests have got darker each day but the last couple are the same and nowhere near as dark as the control. AF is now 2 days late / 15dpo. Should I be worried? I have another clear blue but I was hoping to wait until Monday in the hope of seeing the weeks indicator go up.

The test on the left is most recent.

lampert · 23/09/2017 07:23

(I am 4 + 5 today and it was fmu). Thank you xx

lulupregnant2 · 23/09/2017 07:44

Has anyone been using the clear blue digitals? They have me worried! On dates I'm 6 plus 4. I was tracking when we had sex and conception I'm pretty certain was 4 weeks ago exactly. However I did a clear blue as had one left and still says 2-3 for conception but should be 4 so should read 3plus!! I also had 2-3 last weekend so I'm now terrified my levels are dropping :-(

readysetcake · 23/09/2017 08:40

Hey lulu I know exactly how you feel, the anxiety of not knowing if everything is ok can be crippling.
But I've read a lot on here that the CB digital can be really inaccurate and worrying when it comes to levels and dates. Time of day you use them can affect it too.

As hard as it is please try not to worry and step away from the tests and google. This is such an awful time of waiting. Time just seems to stand still. But all we can do is eat right and hope for the best....google and testing can just lead to more fear and worry. If you can afford it could you book a private scan for reassurance? Or if it's causing you undue anxiety maybe speak to your EPU?

I find non baby related distraction helps me a little. Enjoy the weekend 😊

lulupregnant2 · 23/09/2017 09:05

@readysetcake thanks so much for the reply. I'm definately suffering from anxious which I'm gonna mention to my go a week on Tuesday but that's the first appointment I could get to tell them I'm
Pregnant! It definately makes it worst as I've had sore boobs and cramping and feeling full down there for a week or two but the last two days I haven't felt pregnant at all! I hope it's just in my head but I fear it's not!

readysetcake · 23/09/2017 09:39

@lulupregnant2 I don't feel pregnant either! I was full on sick with my first but apart from feeling a bit sicky and cramps when I first found out, I feel fine. Just tired in the evenings. But after a lot of googling I've reassured and scared myself In equal measures, so I'm no better off 😂 it seems that no symptoms are totally normal but can also mean the worst 😬 Pregnancy is such a mind fuck! I've decided to step away from the screen and just concentrate on loving well and positive think and cross any horrible bridges if I come to them. )easier said than done!)

If you're very anxious I'd definitely go back to your GP. Anxiety is such an awful condition (I suffered so badly with it at the end of last year and it's dust horrible) and you shouldn't have to suffer.

readysetcake · 23/09/2017 09:40

*living well. Though loving well is also a good thing!

Bunnyfluffy · 23/09/2017 11:49

Yes I've also decided to stop Googling - I can't change anything & what will be will be.
I'm getting a cold so not sure if my tiredness etc is just cold related or pregnancy. I need to stop overthinking!
