Hi, I'm new to the pregnancy board. I've just found out that I am pregnant with my 2nd (4 weeks today) and the NHS calculator says all being well I will be due around 12th May.

I couldn't see any threads for May yet - anyone just found out and want to join me?

DS has just turned 7 so I'm a bit rusty on this whole pregnancy thing!

@LadyPug I'm getting the same. Does it get worse when you sit down or lie down? Mine does. Tempted to phone to the EPU again but sure I'm already on their list as being paranoid!

LadyPug · 21/09/2017 08:34

Well (hangs head shamefully) I haven't got out of bed yet this morning, only just getting up now but right now pain is at its worst! Call the epu and tell them you're calling on behalf of the Mumsnet May thread! Ha!

Hannahf89 · 21/09/2017 08:49

I hope the cramps are nothing to worry about. I have period like cramps which can be pretty constant in the evening. Has anybody decided to pay for an early scan for reassurance?

We haven't told anybody yet. I don't want to until 12 weeks - my brother told everyone a few years ago and the pregnancy didn't work out. I have to stress to hubby to not tell anyone every morning as he's such a blabber mouth!

HackneyP · 21/09/2017 08:53

Hello can I join? I've just found out I'm pregnant and my ovia app is saying 4 weeks 4 days and due 28th May.

MummyOf1Boy · 21/09/2017 10:02

We have only told close family and friends as we are very excited and needed to tell the people closest to us.

I have also had to tell my manager due to the type of work I do.

We are going to wait until the 12 week scan to tell everyone else and I cannot wait to tell my little boy who is 8, i just know he is going to be sooooo happy as he really wants a sibling.

In regards to symptoms I have zero. Apart from being in bed and asleep before 10pm i get the odd achey boob but thats it.

I keep taking tests to make sure im still pregnant as I dont feel any different at all.

However I did read that most symptoms dont kick in until 6wks plus and im only nearly 5wks so maybe thats why.

Or maybe im going to be lucky with this pregnancy and feel really well!!! Xxx

Great time to have a baby. The beginning of the better weather. Baby and mu have a chance to build themselves up before the shivering starts!

Lionnose · 21/09/2017 12:04

Hello waves I've just joined mumsnet, this is my first, due May 22nd. Excited/Nervous/Scared - all the good emotions. I lost my first pregnancy about this time last year so more scared than anything right now. It has been lovely reading how everyone is getting on. I will look forward to keeping up with your news

xx

DaisyMay25 · 21/09/2017 13:08

@raspberryandlime me too, well no where near as bad as period pain but like a dull ache really, just uncomfortable.
Nausea is so bad today, haven't been sick at all yet but it's probably not too far behind.
Bit more spotting today that had me a little worried and I'm just feeling like curling up in a ball and crying tbh, I'm such a mess haha

Hannahf89 · 21/09/2017 14:56

My cramps aren't too bad today, although they have tended to be worse in the evenings. Dull ache sums it up @DaisyMay25. So sleepy at work though and really bloated.

I rang the hospital at lunch to make an appointment with the midwife. They said I have to be referred by my GP. Rang to make an appointment with my GP...it's not until 10th October! I'll be 7+2 then. Should I try again to get something sooner?

DaisyMay25 · 21/09/2017 15:27

@Hannahf89 I'm exhausted today too, and got a little back ache, I didn't think I'd feel this bad this quickly!

I'd retry, if they have book on the day ones call tomorrow and get in with a GP tomorrow? that's what I did and they referred me then, luckily the midwife in in my doctor's office, I'll be 7+3 when I see the midwife

Chunkymonkey123 · 21/09/2017 15:33

Can I ask how dark the lines were on your test? I might be overthinking this but I didn't get a line to match the control until I was 5 weeks when I first tested positive at 3+6. I've convinced myself this means something awful. Were you lines dark straight away?

DaisyMay25 · 21/09/2017 15:39

I've terribly only taken one test, the line wasn't dark but the doctor said it's positive for sure, she even said there was no point in taking another test.
I took a test at 4+4 but was negative, only came positive at 5+2!

Jade1928 · 21/09/2017 17:15

@Chunkymonkey123 I tested very similar to you. My first test taken at 3+6 was a very faint positive line (A huge suprise, as we had been trying but just really didn't think we would ever get a positive result). I then tested again 2 days later, bit darker but not as dark as control line still, so then I done a clear blue digital which said 'Pregnant'!

Then as I just couldn't believe I was pregnant I tested at 4+5 and got a very positive result. The pregnancy line actually ended up darker then the control line. I purely think it is just because it takes a while for the pregnancy hormones to develop enough for the test to detect it but as they say even the faintest of lines is a positive.. congratulations :)

Jade1928 · 21/09/2017 17:18

This was the result of my first test... Very faint line.

Hi ladies,

I feel a bit of a fraudster as depending on which calculator I use my EDD is either 28th may or 1st June so I've joined both threads!

I have read through this thread and it's so reassuring to see everyone's posts - thank you all for sharing.

I have known about this pregnancy for 3 days and I'm already completely paranoid it's not going to stick, how on earth does anyone get through 12 weeks!!!! Desperately hoping the little bean stays put.

At most I am 4 weeks and 3 days and have no real symptoms aside from sore boobs which I've had since ovulation. I have very mild period pain aches, but no nausea at all - I guess I'm lucky there so far but hope it's not a sigh that nothing is going on!

Mummy2018 · 21/09/2017 17:41

Hello all,

I have just joined Mumsnet wanted to introduce myself. Hope you don't mind if I join this conversation :)

I am 7+6 pregnant with my first, engaged and due to be married early next year. Baby is due 4th May 2018 (Although this date may change as I have irregular periods but luckily know my OV date). Got booking appointment with midwife next week, cant wait :D

Not experiencing too many symptoms at the moment apart from extreme tiredness since 4wks, nausea and occasional vomiting in morning since 5+4. Hows everyone else coping with their symptoms?

Congratulations to everyone on here with you pregnancy's, may they all be healthy ones.

Xjo1992x · 21/09/2017 18:18

Hi @chunkymonkey I'm exactly the same, was a dark line at just before 5 weeks and they've been dark since! (I have a bit of an obsession with taking tests!)

Chunkymonkey123 · 21/09/2017 18:26

Thanks for your comments! daisy I think testing once is fine! I was paranoid it wouldn't last the first week so kept taking them.
I'm due the 18th May and have a 6month old son atm!
I haven't had any symptoms yet but last time sickness kicked in at 6+3 and lasted until 14 weeks so I guess it's coming soon 😔

Hannahf89 · 21/09/2017 18:32

I've managed to get the drs to refer me to the hospital midwife without seeing me...organising that has been stressful and it's just the beginning!

These are my tests with the bottom being the most recent - it was this evening as I'm obsessed so probably not as concentrated as it could be.

I'm actually feeling quite good this evening, hope I don't live to regret saying that!

Meant to add, has anyone organised their flu jab?

PhoenixDown · 21/09/2017 18:48

Hannah I've got mine on Sat, when I rang GP to let them know I was pregnant they asked if I wanted to book in so thought I might as well get it out of the way!

Rea82 · 21/09/2017 18:54

Congratulations to all! This is my first and I'm super excited! I'm now 5 weeks and 6 days. So far just really bloated, sore boobs and tired. I called my doctors today and they are going to pass my details over to a midwife. I think it's slowly sinking in now 😊

rasberryandlime · 21/09/2017 20:01

@DaisyMay25 @LadyPug ended up speaking to my midwife today even though my booking in appointment isn't until next week and she was lovely.

She said period type paid in early pregnancy is nothing to be concerned about and really common, said many people constantly feel like they're about to come on, which is how I've been feeling for the past 3 days.

She does want me to be seen at the EPU again next week but this is due to the concerns from my scan on Monday and we're still unsure how things will progress, and not because of the cramping.

DaisyMay25 · 21/09/2017 21:03

So I had a bit more blood than usual tonight, still a brown though so hopefully it's just left over (tmi haha)
I got myself into a right state about it so my partner called 111 and managed to get me in with an out of hours GP
Didn't really get anywhere with that, said it's too early to scan so they can't be sure but bleeding is common (he stressed it's not natural but common which really annoyed me) and cramps are normal.
Picked up a test on my way home because I'd convinced myself maybe I wasn't pregnant and my period was starting but it was clearly positive after 30 seconds
I feel better but my god the 12 week scan can't come soon enough, il just driving myself crazy!

nats1017 · 21/09/2017 21:20

Hi everyone! I'm 6+1 today and had my booking appointment with the midwife today! Booked in to have my flu jab on Monday ☺️
