Hi, I'm new to the pregnancy board. I've just found out that I am pregnant with my 2nd (4 weeks today) and the NHS calculator says all being well I will be due around 12th May.

I couldn't see any threads for May yet - anyone just found out and want to join me?

DS has just turned 7 so I'm a bit rusty on this whole pregnancy thing!

xjo1992x I've asked on the group to see if anyone can work it out!

AlexsMum89 · 18/09/2017 15:57

I'm huge as well, but this is my 2nd and I swear my body has just been waiting to 'let go' again! I'm desperately trying to keep it a secret from work, but I'm so sick I can't bear going shopping so I'm trying to find things in my wardrobe that will work. I've also got no way of hiding the travel bands I'm wearing for the sickness but it's freezing in our office today so I've got my coat on. That works!

A quick update after what has felt like the longest 24 hours ever....

Last night I ended up having some light bleeding and cramping so after spending the night in a state of panic I was seen at the epu today.

It transpires that I had 2 gestational sacs, both could be seen on the ultrasound, but only one had a pregnancy in (this was completely missed at my private scan on Saturday, surely they should have picked this up??) They think one has never developed which is what caused the spotting and cramping, but baby is doing well in the other sac and looks healthy and has a strong heartbeat , albeit slightly behind on dates still. But this explains so many things, like why i may have got a positive test earlier than expected.

Feel like this pregnancy had been an emotional rollercoaster already and only 6 weeks in!

Still have no symptoms but doctor today said this isn't anything to worry about and just make the most of it....

LadyPug · 18/09/2017 22:20

Hi raspberry oh my goodness! Been thinking of you. I hope you're ok, that sounds like such a tough 24 hours. So you had twins originally? I hope you're ok!

rasberryandlime · 18/09/2017 22:36

Thanks @LadyPug

Yes, they are pretty sure it started as twins but one didn't develop very far at all, as nothing at all could be seen in the sac.

I'm ok thank you, felt a little sad when we found out about the other twin but didn't know it was there until I knew it wasn't, so didn't really feel attached if that makes sense?

They said that the other baby looks fine, had a strong heartbeat and regular shaped sac, and is higher in the womb than the empty sac which is apparently a good sign, so relieved to hear that and see the heartbeat again.

Just really drained after going this morning expecting to be told we had lost the baby to getting the update we did. Really hope things go more smoothly from here.

LadyPug · 18/09/2017 22:47

I can totally imagine, do you have to work tomorrow? Hopefully you can take it easy and just process it all. Thinking of you. Off to bed now everyone as any of you making it past 11pm are quite frankly my heros right now!!

rasberryandlime · 18/09/2017 22:49

Yes have to work tomorrow, but going to go in a bit later so can get a good sleep. night all x

InRainbows · 19/09/2017 06:03

My godness @raspberryandlime what a day you had! I'm pleased you got some answers ! That does sound pretty poor of the private scan not to detect any of this! Hope your not too exhausted today, keep that little heartbeat at the front of your mind today!

readysetcake · 19/09/2017 06:30

Wow rasberryandlime what an emotional rollercoaster you've had. I've been thinking about you and I'm so glad you now have some answers. Keeping everything crossed for that little heartbeat and that all goes smoothly from here on in.

Can I ask is anyone else waking up really early and not getting back to sleep? I'ce been awake before 5 every morning for the last week. then I spend the next couple of hours tossing and turning. Driving me mad!

Bunnyfluffy · 19/09/2017 07:48

Flowers Raspberry

Awful insomnia here. 2 hours sleep max last night and busy day at work today Sad

LadyPug · 19/09/2017 08:12

LadyPug · 19/09/2017 08:28

Welcome popadom we're due date twins! I love that our little thread is filling up with new arrivals :-)

PopadomPointer · 19/09/2017 08:30

It's so exciting, and nervous in equal measures too!Grin

readysetcake · 19/09/2017 08:37

Not just me then! I was considering just getting up and starting the day, but I think you're right ladypug at least if I stay in bed it's resting, which is the next best thing to sleep!

2 hours is miserable bunny and you can't even have lots of coffee to see you through Sad. Fingers crossed for better sleep tonight.

Hello popadom I'm the 21st too! It's very exciting but also doesn't feel quite real yet.

Bunnyfluffy · 19/09/2017 08:44

I know. No coffee is a killer. I'm normally a coffee monster. And a gin monster too Blush

bridieb · 19/09/2017 09:04

Congratulations everyone!

I found out last week that I was pregnant, according to online calculators I should be due around mid May!

I'm incredibly nervous as I had an ectopic pregnancy four months ago and although we decided to try again we weren't expecting me to get pregnant again quite this fast!

The epau at the hospital want me in for an early scan at the next Wednesday to check everything is ok and it's not a repeat of last time. Nothing I can do but wait - it's so frustrating not knowing! We worked out that last time I realised I was pregnant and had to go to hospital due to pain and bleeding was around the same time I will be going into hospital next week - very nerve racking!

I have very tender boobs, and I have had a bit of spotting these last 24 hours which seems to be getting less. It's brown blood, so it's old and I'm trying to tell myself that it's either normal and ok or if it's a miscarriage then there isn't anything anybody can do anyhow. Not convinced it's working mind you!

PopadomPointer · 19/09/2017 09:16

Yes yes to sore boobs!
I feel like I'm constantly wearing nipple-clampsBlush

KalaLaka · 19/09/2017 09:25

popadom mine is DC4 too! Due around the same time.

bridie sounds very stressful for you... I hope next Wednesday goes well for you and you can let go of some worries.

InRainbows · 19/09/2017 09:26

I've taken to wearing a sports bra, just looking at my flimsey underwired bra makes me feel anxious!

Does anyone know if the sore boobs symptom eases up as you get through your pregnancy or will it be consistent?

LadyPug · 19/09/2017 09:32

I have no sore boobs and no sickness! It's all a bit worrying, apart from feeling a little lightheaded I feel fine!

DareToDream89 · 19/09/2017 14:11

Hi, I found out on Thursday that I am expecting our first baby around 20/22nd May. Super excited x

AlexsMum89 · 19/09/2017 15:21

@popadom - nipple clamps hahahaha with my first it was all of my boobs that were incredibly sore, but this time it's primarily my nipples so I'm completely with you!
