Hi, I'm new to the pregnancy board. I've just found out that I am pregnant with my 2nd (4 weeks today) and the NHS calculator says all being well I will be due around 12th May.

I couldn't see any threads for May yet - anyone just found out and want to join me?

DS has just turned 7 so I'm a bit rusty on this whole pregnancy thing!

Ah InRainbows what a sweet way to announce it! I'm resolutely not testing today! I'm just sitting tight and keeping everything crossed!

scoutcat · 16/09/2017 12:40

Hey guys! Just found out I'm pregnant and based on my last period, I should be due around 26th May! Anyone else? So exciting. Grin

LadyPug · 16/09/2017 12:44

Yep all of us! Haha! Welcome scout

annemie · 16/09/2017 13:13

Hi ladies!
I found out I'm pregnant a couple of weeks ago and based on my last period I should be due on 7th May.
I couldn't wait for my NHS scan so I booked a private scan which I had today. Everything's looking good so far. Our little one measures 5mm and had a strong heartbeat.

Here's the picture we sent to our parents :D

Hi Everyone,
Just found out I am expecting first baby....I'm confused though....I know we conceived 3 weeks ago yet I am 5+2 weeks???!
I ant get my head around this at all!
Have had sore boobs for about 2 weeks, odd hot flashes and period like pains but other that not too bad.
I actually keep forgetting and then freaking out!
Would love to chat to other mums oh due 18th May! :-))))

scoutcat · 16/09/2017 16:06

annemie That's a lovely idea! I don't want to tell our parents until we've had a scan but it will be a struggle to keep it a secret!

scoutcat · 16/09/2017 16:07

Yorkie17 it's because they count it from the date of the start of your last period. I conceived 2 weeks ago but I'm 4 weeks. Smile

emilyjayne1990 · 16/09/2017 20:05

I've got a quite obvious bump already! I'm 7 weeks on Tuesday.
Is this usually the case with your 2nd pregnancy does anyone know?

InRainbows · 16/09/2017 20:11

So lovely to see a little scan picture already @anniemie can't wait to see the 12 weeks ones coming through!

Good job @Ladypug, that's the best way to think can't spend the next 8 months panicking!

I feel really bloated @emilyjayne1990, I'm on my first so not sure about second bumps?

Yorkie17 · 16/09/2017 20:52

Thanks @scoutcat and congrats to everyone.
I've got some heavy cramps/period pains atm, anyone else feel this?
Also please excuse this ridiculous question...so they say morning sickness usually starts between 6/8weeks-does this mean 6 weeks from last missed period or from conception?
I'm asking as I'm getting married in 2 weeks and I'm so worried about feeling rubbish on the day and trying to hide it.
We really thought it would take is a lot longer to conceive :-)
Xxxx

LadyPug · 16/09/2017 21:05

Hi yorkie I have crampy period pains too! I think it's six weeks from your last period, not from conception but sickness can start earlier than six weeks

emilyjayne1990 · 16/09/2017 21:14

@Yorkie17 my nausea started 2 days ago, (I'm 6+4) I've not been sick yet but I feel like I could be any minute. I've had to hide the mayo behind everything in the fridge. Just the look of it makes me heave!!! There's not many foods I'm managing to eat at the minute without them making me feel really sick.

Yorkie17 · 16/09/2017 21:31

@LadyPug thank you and @emilyjayne1990 oh no! poor you......mmmm now I'm worried!!
Beginning of last week (before I knew I was expecting) i popped into the juice bar for a ginger shot-about 10 minutes later I was almost sick in my handbag and then while I was wondering around boots I started to get so hot and was asking employees " mmm is it hot in here? or just me?" :-)

Yorkie17 · 16/09/2017 21:33

we are the same time! keep me posted on how your feeling! :-)

NatalieG1 · 16/09/2017 21:35

Hello again ladies :) looking for some advice. I'm a natural worrier and, after looking at scary statistics online, I can't stop stressing. I'm so desperate to get to the 12 week 'safety zone'. It's our first baby and we are completely over the moon. What do people do to stop stressing?

emilyjayne1990 · 16/09/2017 21:37

@Yorkie17 but saying that, I definitely wasn't this bad with my last pregnancy! I'm pretty sure I'd remember feeling like this. I have a private scan booked a week on Tuesday.
Everyone's different though, I have some friends that had no sickness at all so fingers crossed for you!

scoutcat · 16/09/2017 21:41

I am definitely worried about the sickness. I have a vomit phobia so I'm not sure how I'm going to cope. ConfusedSad

emilyjayne1990 · 16/09/2017 21:46

@scoutcat I'm kinda forcing myself to not be sick, I know if I start I won't stop. I can't do sick!!

LadyPug · 16/09/2017 22:00

Hey Natalie no advice I'm afraid! Only that everyone pretty much feels the same and it just helps to try to forget your pregnant or take it easy. Maybe get an early scan for reassurance? I'm not doing that but many on here are. I'm just trying to manage the nerves every day knowing that when I get to week 5 my chances are better, week 6 even better and week 8 loads better. So I'm breaking it into mini manageable chunks of time rather than 12 weeks! I'm still worried though!

InRainbows · 16/09/2017 22:00

@NatalieG1 Whenever I feel concern creeping up I just think to myself - don't worry about what you can't change! All we have to do is focus on being healthy for 12 weeks, fingers crossed it goes quickly!

JC30 · 16/09/2017 22:41

My nausea kicked it today (I've just gone 6 weeks) I woke up in the night feeling really sick - anyone else get that? Then had to spend the day at a cheese festival with friends...not the best food when feeling a bit icky Confused Anyone else feeling super thirsty all the time too? Congratulations to everyone who's had a scan already - that must give peace of mind

readysetcake · 16/09/2017 22:48

It's so hard natalieG1 and these first 12 weeks are such a drag. I was crossing off the days last time and it seemed to take forever! If you can afford you could go for a scan. Otherwise I found distracting myself with non baby related activities helped and steering clear of google! And the don't worry about what you can't change is good advice. All you can do is eat healthy and hope for the best!

yorkie I had strong cramps until week six with my first and was convinced I would start bleeding at any moment. So can be normal.

Hill1991 · 16/09/2017 23:26

I currently have been having strong cramps as well I'm 6weeks can't wait for my midwifes appointment on Tuesday as I'm driving myself mad with worry I'm sure my dp thinks I'm slightly Insane, jc30 I've had the in the middle off the night sickness, does anyone have any tips on how to curb sickness that they have found
And congrats ladies Smile

LadyPug · 17/09/2017 08:11

Hill eat little and often, crackers etc. Even though you're not hungry this will help. Ppl say ginger helps too!
