Hi all....long story short. 39+5 with DC2. PainfulBH for 1.5 weeks, back pain, pooping....I could go on. I had a sweep almost a week ago, made me bleed a bit not much else. Was 2cm but still hard cervix. What is going on?? Any tips to get it going? We DTD this morning, heaps of RLT, I even pulled out the breast pump and have been using it intermittently. Will give another go later. I was induced 9 days late with my first. Please don't let that happen again!!!

Hi Janet.,...poor thing. My mid wife refused a sweep today as it's Friday and not fair to encourage labour for the on call midwife?? fML

I am that desperate.....I just walked up the massive hill behind our house that leads to another town. Can't believe I made it haha 😂 All it's done so far is give me swollen feet and a sore back. Ffs.

So it seems the consultant must have only broken my hindwaters. After bouncing on my ball, a long walk and nipple stimulation I finally started to get some sporadic contractions about 6.30pm. Went for a lie down at 8.30pm and got halfway through one of my hypnobirthing tracks when I felt a pop and massive gush of waters.

Contractions kicked straight in after that 3 mins apart. Managed 45 mins at home before getting in car to birthing centre (30 min drive away)

Was 9cm dilated on arrival at 10.45pm and had our little boy in the birthing pool with just gas and air at 12.03am. Luckily they had filled it for my arrival but midwife was stunned how quick my labour was for a FTM. The seond midwife arrived just as I was crowning! I put it down to the raspberry leaf tea and dates.

7lb 3oz of gorgeousness

Good luck to the rest of you ladies still waiting.

Congratulations Chelle! Brilliant news that you had a quick and safe labour Flowers

As for me, lots of cramp / sharp pains in the night but nothing establishing like labour

40+5 today so another day of bouncing and waiting!

Sas here's hoping you get some movement today as well

sophiejayne96 · 25/08/2017 08:20

Congrats Chelle!!
39 weeks today, had the worst back pain and pressure down there all night and it isn't shifting. Any news anyone?

forfucksakejanet · 25/08/2017 08:55

Nothing here Sophie

I'm starting to wonder if I am in fact an elephant, and still have a year of pregnancy and hadn't noticed

sophiejayne96 · 25/08/2017 09:03

Hahaha. My mum keeps calling me asking when he's gonna make an appearance. I keep telling her next September 😂
Ew the thought of being pregnant for another year, even as a joke, makes me sick. Lol.

Sasmac2017 · 25/08/2017 10:01

Haha you guys make me laugh. My son thinks baby won't arrive until Xmas 😲 NO WAY!! And I was joking with SIL that in actual fact we have just decided to fill the house with baby stuff and I would get fat for.9 months and there isn't actually a baby! I've lost the plug and had some dull back ache all day, a few strong BH by that is all!!! I am getting so frustrated. 40+3 down...wonder hi much longer to go!?!?

sophiejayne96 · 25/08/2017 10:17

Just think Sas, it could be tonight.. you just never know! It makes me so anxious not knowing when LO will arrive.

forfucksakejanet · 25/08/2017 12:26

Oooh at least you have some plug loss! I keep thinking I have, but no, nothing.

I'm going to be pregnant forever SadSadSad

Sasmac2017 · 25/08/2017 19:55

Hi sophiejayne & Janet - well I just woke up for day 40+4. And I'm losing more plug?? OMG how much of that stuff is there?!?! It's definitely it.....like a jellyfish (sorry tmi). (Huge sigh). I feel defeated!!
My son is going to stay with grandparents today and tonight. I might wash my hair and paint my toenails and do pampering type things. I can't believe I'm still pregnant. You ladies have been so awesome and kept me semi-sane throughout. Thanks so much xxx🤗😘

Hey Sas, still hanging in there? I'm about to go to bed on 40+5, bloody ridiculous

Had nothing, no plug, no waters, no contractions. It's getting very tedious!

Sorry you're still pregnant secretly glad I'm not the only one!!!!!

I have loads planned this weekend so hopefully that means he'll come tomorrow Grin

Sasmac2017 · 25/08/2017 21:36

Yes I'm still hanging in there.....I've had some niggles this morning, I told DH today is the day (it better bloody be, or someone's gonna get hurt 😂😂).
Have a good sleep tonight, you never know it could be you who pops :)

Hey ladies, so after losing the plug I've had so much discharge...sorry tmi. And my waters are leaking! I've called midwife, she said stay upright and wait for cx to start. If hasn't started in 24hrs I gotta go to hospital. Looks like I'll be getting my baby this weekend hurray!!

Sounds positive Sasmac. I would say though try and rest aswell while trying to get contractions to start. I spent ages walking and bouncing and going up and down stairs but it was when I lied down to relax that my waters went fully and contractions started. And you also want to conserve some energy for labour.

Good luck!

Sasmac2017 · 26/08/2017 01:31

Hi chelle, thanks for the message. I'm going to hospital soon as there has been some green flecks in the waters. Baby is moving but it's a bit worrying... 😕

Woo! Can't wait to hear some news. Glad all was well when you went for check. Get as much rest as you can now. I definitely underestimated how much was needed!

I couldn't sleep at all after the birth cos of the adrenaline and lying awake listening to all his little snuffling noises. Then with all the visitors ad breastfeeding. I have had about 3 hours in last 2 days!

Sasmac2017 · 26/08/2017 06:06

Oh that's no.good.chelle. hope get some good rest in over the weekend. I don't seem to be having any more contractions!! It's been 6.5hrs since water first broke. I don't want them to use the drip.to he me going tomorrow morning....ugh! I'm just so tired thiugh I've been lazing on couch most of the afternoon. I just pulled out a little stool to squat sit on and usex my breast pump but that did nothing!?! Maybe they'll start up.tonight x

If you haven't already tried it I found nipple stimulation was what got me contracting

www.healthline.com/health/pregnancy/nipple-stimulation-to-induce-labor#6

chelle85 · 26/08/2017 07:14

Try manually rather than with pump

Sasmac2017 · 26/08/2017 07:18

Ok I might try that although jave just started up again contracting...I can talk through then etc but they feel like awful period type pains. Bleh. Come on bubba😁
