Omg....when will this labour start!?!?

Sasmac2017 · 20/08/2017 06:53

Hi all....long story short. 39+5 with DC2. PainfulBH for 1.5 weeks, back pain, pooping....I could go on. I had a sweep almost a week ago, made me bleed a bit not much else. Was 2cm but still hard cervix. What is going on?? Any tips to get it going? We DTD this morning, heaps of RLT, I even pulled out the breast pump and have been using it intermittently. Will give another go later. I was induced 9 days late with my first. Please don't let that happen again!!!

She said it was pointless doing a sweep if babies head isn't engaged Confused

I should be in at 40+7 but it's bank holiday and her next clinic isn't until Wednesday so I'll be 40+10 by that point, and doubtless feeling utterly murderous!

I went to 40+6 last dc so I am hoping to go naturally before then

How are you feeling?

I'm still here, due today. Lots of cramps and BH. Have midwife this morning and will get another stretch and sweep. I don't think my baby has engaged as tummy still quite high. It is my second and I've heard they don't engage properly until labour starts. Uggghhh.......come on!!!!
Sorry to be a moaner, I have really had enough after 9 months 😂

Awww I feel for us all!..it's a long 9 months and I keep thinking I'm moaning but my DH said he can't imagine how fed up I am by now.

I'm hoping I can have a sweep as babies head is engaged and was at my last app so if it's possible I'd like her to try.

I'm pinning my hopes on this eclipse starting something for one of us today.

Your all doing brilliantly ladies-soon we will all be on the other side and holding our little babies! Do we all know what we are having? We don't know so the suspense is killing me but I love the surprise at the end.

Waitingfordc2 - wow, I couldn't NOT know the gender haha. I'm having another little boy. Very pleased. Never saw myself as a girls mum iykwim. Big bro is very pleased too 🤗 I'm so glad to have you guys, who know exactly what it feels like. I bet I'll be the last to pop :(

Mine won't give me a sweep if he's not engaged, but I am convinced he is due to the pressure and time I spend weeing!!

This is dc2 for me, I had a dad last time so I am happy, I found out as early as possible, I can't take suspense about things like this!

I just have a feeling this one is going to come over the bank holiday weekend ..... most inconvenient with plans made etc etc Grin

Can I join? I'm 39 weeks today. Only finished work a week ago but I'm losing my mind.

My first was born at 38 weeks so I wasn't expecting this wait.

I'm so fed up of being pregnant. Just want it over now!

waiting - we don't know what we're having either! We already have a DS and will be absolutely thrilled with another DS or a DD (although we are struggling with boys names!) - can't wait to find out!

I've resigned myself to the fact that my ELCS on Wednesday is looking likely - it's good to have an end point but part of me was hoping to give VBAC a try, and also to avoid needing to spend a couple of nights in hospital. But all good!

You're all doing brilliantly - these last few days are really hard work! Lots of Cake, Flowers and decaf Brew for everyone Smile

Another one here hoping for vbac! If I go to 40+12 and end up induced it's likely I'll end up with another c section. I really don't want one as my dd starts nursery on 4th September and I am really hoping to be able to take her on her first days, and not be in hospital too long.

That was the worst of the experience, I just wanted to be at home!

I just have too much time to overthink things, and ironically feel too tired to have a baby right now! Late pregnancy sleep is just shite and I can't wait to meet this little person now

Hang in there girls Flowers

Congrats to those that know what they are having! I feel like this pregnancy is harder than DC1 as I had nothing to compare to so I didn't have expectations but this time I'm constantly comparing to last time.

Zig-I so hope u get to try a VBAC if that's what u want but at least u know with and ELCS u can avoid the EMCS nightmare!

Sasmac-I'm hoping we all go in asap so non of us are last! Another little boy-how gorgeous. We already have a DD but I would love either, DD or DS just as long as it's holy and healthy!

Welcome sell my soul-it's not my thread but I'm happy to see more lovely ladies who can keep each other sane in the longest days of pregnancy!

Forfuckssake- I keep thinking this one might come on the bank holiday I just hope it's in August..DD is an August baby she was so excited at the thought of this new baby sharing parties with her and always being off together in the summer for birthdays!

Has anyone else lost all patience with people asking is the baby has arrived yet?..if I look like this after baby arrives I'll be asking them to check if they have left a beach ball inside by mistake.

Haha I am the same with the 'any news' texts! As if I'd just casually forget to mention the birth of my longed for and very long awaited second child!

I'm getting a lot of "any news" texts which is driving me insane. Most annoying from my lovely DM. After my DH she'd be the first person I'd tell so why keep asking?!

janet my DD starts nursery early September as well and I really want to have baby out and be physically recovered enough to take her. That's my biggest stress about it all.

Well the eclipse has at least done something for me..my waters have just gone..I'm going into be checked over as not in labour yet but hoping if it follows pattern with DD then at some point in the next 24 hours labour should start..if not then I'll be induced Shock

And omg...every time I see my sons teacher she's all 'still here are we' like ffs. Obviously. And every time I call my mum it's 'are you in labour'. No, I am not. And my DH with his texts, how u feeling. 😂😂 I guess we are lucky to have people who care, some aren't so lucky!!

Your right it's nice to know they care but the teacher thing..I totally know what you mean. dad has a birthday party on Sunday and I was dreading going and seeing the other school mums and them saying "still waiting then?".

Just got home from the hospital, got today and tonight to see if labour starts and if not induction booked for tomorrow at 9. I'm hoping it's later today though as I'm getting pains in my back like I did with DD and baby seems happy enough.

Managed to get home just in time for DD getting up and finding grandad here with her..when I walked in the door she stared at my stomach-I think she thought the baby was going to be here as my dad told her I went to see the midwife Grin

fingers crossed for everyone else to join me tonight/tomorrow and that everyone has a safe arrival soon xx

Good luck waiting!

Eclipse did bugger all for me, neither did DTD or some serious ball bouncing ........

Looks like I'm going to have to clean the cooker or something. FFS

A www chelle85!! Poor thing. I've already told DH if baby is a no show tonight he has to give my cervix more sperm tomorrow. He looked horrified. We DTD twice on Sunday, poor guy, was like doing it with a wilder beast 😂😂 I had some serious pain earlier but not Cx. It felt like baby was moving down and it bloody hurt!!

I just got cramps and backache from sex but may give it another go tonight. It is so not fun at this point though! I acrually told him to fill me a turkey baster lol. I read somewhere that you need 3 lots of ejaculate to get the same level of prostaglandins that they use in the induction pessary. Don't think I could handle that lol.

😂😂 Sex is too much at this point, way too uncomfortable.
I'm 38+4 and my LO is back to back so my back pain has been horrible these past few days.. gradually getting worse. I'm keeping fingers and toes crossed that something happens soon because having these pains and not knowing if it'll end in labor anytime soon is the worst and most frustrating feeling. 🤞

Sex is so uncomfortable at this stage, I really did feel like a bush pig or something. So unsexy and huge 😂 Any news from anyone else overnight?? Xx
