Hi all....long story short. 39+5 with DC2. PainfulBH for 1.5 weeks, back pain, pooping....I could go on. I had a sweep almost a week ago, made me bleed a bit not much else. Was 2cm but still hard cervix. What is going on?? Any tips to get it going? We DTD this morning, heaps of RLT, I even pulled out the breast pump and have been using it intermittently. Will give another go later. I was induced 9 days late with my first. Please don't let that happen again!!!

Any news ladies?
Does anyone else have extreme aching in your hips and pressure down there? That and back ache is the worst!

Woop congratulations!! 💙
I'm having what I think are just BH every 8-10mins. They can't be real because they just aren't painful, just a bit of an ache and my heart racing when they come on. 😂
Hoping something happens soon though.

Ah congratulations waiting - that is brilliant news and what a big boy - go you!! Hope you are resting up and enjoying newborn snuggles Flowers

Sounds very promising sasmac and sophie! Smile

I had my ELCS and was blown away at how much better an experience it was compared to my EMCS - I've been on a high all afternoon and it looks like I might get to go home tomorrow too which would be fab. We now have a DD!! She is 9 lb 6 and squishily adorable (though like her big brother she is absolutely refusing to sleep in the hospital cot so it's looking like it might be a long night...!)

Sending lots of thoughts and best wishes to everyone still waiting- not long to go!! Flowers

Nothing at all from acupuncture for me. Meant to be going back tomorrow.

I've been losing my plug in chunks for a couple of weeks but its just another of the list of early labour signs I have had that have led to nothing. Have to go in to discuss induction today. Nothing terrifies me more thay the prospect of being induced but starting to lose faith in my body doing it on its own

Maybe not sophiejayne.......knowing the luck for the rest of us, you'll be the first one to pop 😂
Chelle - I was induced for my first, but I only needed the prostaglandin gel, it seemed to be enough to get contractions going at 41+2. It did seem to make things quite intense and quick, maybe that's all you need?
Janet - hang in there.minhave officially given up on worrying about it all tonight. I figure it can't go on forever...., or maybe it will?? 🙁🤔

I feel much less bothered today! I can get obsessed over things so am just going to try and relax and think it'll happen when it happens ..... it's just there are things planned this weekend that I can guarantee I'm going to spoil! Ah well, such is life Grin

I'm convinced I'm going all the way now. But hopefully I'll get waters, contractions then birth within a few hours when I'm least expecting it! Hmm

Report
chelle85 · 24/08/2017 09:33

Sasmac - I am worried about how intense the contractions would be with induction as I really want to avoid epidural due to a previous experience with a lumbar puncture that put me in hospital for a week unable to sit upright without vomiting because my blood pressure kept dropping through thr floor. I am worried that if the pessary doesn't get things going then I will end up hooked up on drips and monitoring and I cannot stand my movement being restricted

Will see what thr consultant has to say today as I can't do this much longer a nd he has to come out somehow!

Sasmac2017 · 24/08/2017 09:46

Chelle - I suppose everybody's experience of induction is different and dependant on what they do exactly. As I said I only had the gel. However the midwife did say they used too much and they had to give me heart attack spray to stop the uterine muscles contracting so furiously!! I survived it though, with gas and pethidine. And labour was pretty short, about 6hrs not too bad for first timer! I'd say you'll go very soon regardless being as over as you are. I am wondering if I will need to be induced again too.....
Janet - I'm exactly the same today. Just thinking 'meh....hell arrive when he's ready'. It could be just the attitude that gets us going 👍🤗

So I went to consultant appointment and she decided to do an exam and accidentally broke my waters....so one way or another baby is coming out in next day or so! No real contractions as yet but feel quite crampy and was apparently 3-4cm dilated

Hopefully contractions will kick in properly without and need for syncontin

Yep, still pregnant too. No plug lost, no contractions, nothing.

No sweep for me til Wednesday as that's her next clinic. Rubbish!! I'll be 40+10 by then and probably ready to pull it out myself!
