Omg....when will this labour start!?!?

Hi all....long story short. 39+5 with DC2. PainfulBH for 1.5 weeks, back pain, pooping....I could go on. I had a sweep almost a week ago, made me bleed a bit not much else. Was 2cm but still hard cervix. What is going on?? Any tips to get it going? We DTD this morning, heaps of RLT, I even pulled out the breast pump and have been using it intermittently. Will give another go later. I was induced 9 days late with my first. Please don't let that happen again!!!

Still here, 40+2 nearly over with only some minor twinges to report

Managed to dtd TWICE in 12 hours but it's made naff all difference

Hopeful that we'll see some movement tonight!!

@sophiejayne96 I know!! The things do disappear. I could've sworn last night would be the night, until I lay down and everything went away. Sex is totally awkward and uncomfortable but I'm at the point of giving anything a try. I have acupuncture in a few hours. The lady is also a midwife and she said this type of induction needling can be very effective. Very cheap too, $30 a session (I'm in New Zealand so not sure what that would equate to you guys) Here I am eating breakfast for another day of no show baby.
@forfucksakejanet I think waiting was being induced today if no progress on her own?? Oh so jealous.....she'll have her baby today most likely yay for waiting!!

40+6 today. Lots of pressure but nothing else. Even my Braxton Hicks seem to have slowed down.

Still at home, having contractions on and off but still not regular so staying out until they are-feel like they have ramped up abit this evening though..if I don't go in tonight in established labour I'll be induced tomorrow at 9 so the end is in sight!

Hoping u will all be joining me but without induction..nice natural VBAC's for everyone

😴😴 I'm having a sweep 2 weeks today, I'm starting to think he's not going to make an appearance before hand and I'm just going to remain miserable until then lol.

Sophie- don't get down about it..this time last night I was having a mini melt down to DH about having to try and convince my midwife to do me a sweep at my app and the fear she might not do it!

I went to bed feeling like there was nothing at all going on then 'pop' at 2.30 and my waters had gone.

Cannot wait to see everyone's gorgeous new borns

Hi again everyone, and great to hear your update waiting - yep, looking like it's an ELCS for me tomorrow. Feeling quite nervous but am crossing everything that it all goes smoothly and that DC2 is happy and healthy. Fingers crossed we get to be 23 August "twins" and that it all goes amazingly for you and hope everyone else on this thread gets some encouraging signs very soon!

Hi ladies....quick update. I had the induction acupuncture at 10am and 1pm I had a bloody show! Coincidence?? Not sure, but if you can give it a go! I'm going back tomorrow afternoon if still no baby :)

Sounds positive Sasmac. What points did you have done (main ones seem to be in feet and ankles?)

I've had acupuncture in the past and found it really helpful for neck pain and strangely relaxing. I was taught how to do it myself in my hands but wouldn't want to risk trying other points.

It's hard to find anyone near me that adcertises acupuncture for pregnancy but I am going to ring round and see if anyone will do it. Worth a go if only to try and chill me out a bit!!

Hey chelle, she did a few in my feet, back, tummy, hands and top of my head. She stimulated the hand ones and hooked the back ones up to an electrode machine it felt like someone tapping my back. It's just weird having a show like 3 hours later! I'm hoping for some action tonight, otherwise I'll be back to see her tomorrow 😌🤗

I've been eating healthy all pregnancy and now I am overdue I just want to eat rubbish!

Found somewhere that does acupuncture for labour induction....the therapist is on leave til next week. Great!!

chelle - noooo, that's so disappointing, what bad timing.

Haha I shouldn't have read the comments about coco pops and cornflakes and perky nana bars - I haven't been allowed to eat or drink since midnight and I am sooooo hungry (and thirsty). I've been at the hospital since first thing this morning and it looks like I have a couple more hours to go before it's my turn.

I won't lie, I'm slightly terrified! We are trying to use the time productively by thinking more about baby names which we still haven't decided on...

No - which makes choosing names even more difficult!! I think we have just about agreed on a girl's name but boys are proving a lot trickier (which probably means it is going to be a boy haha)

ZigaZigAh - we found out for that exact reason...had an agreed girls name but no boys...we are having a boy! Still no agreed name!!

Been to midwife this morning and had another sweep but disappointed to find my cervix is apparently further back than it was last week and she couldn't reach all of it! Still 1-2cm dilated as it was then so feels like I have taken a step backwards and not confident sweep will help if she cpuldn't actually seperate membranes

Have to see consultant tomorrow to discuss induction/expectant management options.
