Hi all....long story short. 39+5 with DC2. PainfulBH for 1.5 weeks, back pain, pooping....I could go on. I had a sweep almost a week ago, made me bleed a bit not much else. Was 2cm but still hard cervix. What is going on?? Any tips to get it going? We DTD this morning, heaps of RLT, I even pulled out the breast pump and have been using it intermittently. Will give another go later. I was induced 9 days late with my first. Please don't let that happen again!!!

@sophiejayne96 good luck! hopefully things are moving along for you.
@helsybells If I'm induced I'll have to have him on a labour ward in hospital. Their birth centre is literally one floor down from the labour ward and is absolutely gorgeous.
Had my 4th sweep today too so I feel your pain ;)

helsybells · 06/09/2017 18:01

Ah I see Dandy. Similar thing here in that the hospital where I had my first is now midwife led and they are just lovely! All private rooms and 2 MW per mum Whereas if I go for induction I have to got to a hospital which is huge, 1 MW between two and much further away and not a very nice area... considering trying to transfer my care to a different trust which is nicer and has private rooms but is same distance away. Butworried that will mean if I transfer care I then won't be able to use the MW led one ifit all starts naturally in the meantime either... though I suppose they wouldn't turn us away if we turned up ready to give birth!! What a palava!!

Congratulations everyone!!

Can I add my sister she is 40+2 with her 5th.

She has never went late before she was had 3 that's as born a week early and one on due date so she is a bit at end of her tether now, but hanging in there.

She is reading this but she won't post she never posts lol.

Any tips for her to try just get going?

We have tried all the usual hot curries ect but nothing worked

Xxx

sophiejayne96 · 07/09/2017 08:19

I think it's just a case of waiting lol
I tried absolutely everything and it just makes you more annoyed that there's nothing you can do about it. Just get rest and make the most of it is the way I'm looking at it now xxx

Proudmummytodc2 · 07/09/2017 08:29

That's what i have been saying baby will come when she is ready. We have also found out she has went back to back this week.

Hopefully things start soon.

How's thug coming along for you Sophie? Xx

TeaTeaTea · 07/09/2017 16:27

Hi Ladies, wasn't ignoring the thread - I was having a baby! She arrived Monday at 12.30am and, like, Crusading came with speed. Laboured long as possible at home, contractions were over min long but still 7mins apart so note for future - you do NOT have to wait until they're 3-4 min apart! After 2 gruelling contractions where I threw up I decided to get hospital assistance. DS arrived 40mins later just before they could give me the drugs - FML it was terrifying, at 8lbs2oz as well Shock! But, to look on the positive side, with no drugs in me baby was and is very well and I felt great the day after.

Reflux has hit and so feeling the effects of sleep deprivation now.

Only tips I have for labour inducing that worked for me is walking and keeping upright - whenever i lay down I still got contractions but they slowed right down.
Wishing you all good (nearly said quick - i'll say 'reasonably timed'!) and healthy births very very soon xFlowers

Congratulations everyone!! 👏👏👏

Well ladies I too have been a bit busy!! Baby Matilda Beatrice arrived at 440am this morning!!

As you know I had a sweep yesterday and really thought it had done nothing but made me feel like poo. Well I had some slight cramps at 1am but went back to sleep. 3am woke up with chronic pains, bloody show, contractions only a couple of minutes apart v quickly and got to hospital with about 20 minutes to spare! Had a couple of paras and some gas and air then a little person arrived with her chord wrapped 3 times around her neck!! 😱 Luckily it was loose and as she was so fast that all was ok!! One of the best things is no stitches and I'm really pleased as I took quite a beating with my first in that regard!

We were home in time for lunch!! Having hell with feeding already - I'm just not built for breastfeeding and both nipples bleeding already!! Humph.

For those still waiting on new arrivals it seems my sweep was pretty effective. I was also about to call in a reflexologist 😂😂 as last time accupressure points seemed to work quite well (but not this time for Matilda!) and seems nice and relaxing which helps! Was also about to book a bloody expensive Mummy massage/spa day as I was getting so down!

Good luck everyone with new arrivals and those still to come! ❤️❤️❤️

sophiejayne96 · 07/09/2017 18:47

Sweep number 2 for me tomorrow. Had mild cramps today so hopefully it will kick start things.

forfucksakejanet · 07/09/2017 20:39

Congratulations hells and teax3!!

Well done on your little people Flowers

Seems this is a thread of fast and furious labour and deliveries - don't think we've had many over 4 hours!!

Love hearing of newborns ❤️❤️

DS is 9 days old now, he's managed to gain weight in his first week and is thriving. DH and I managing on about 4 hours sleep each but he is so beautiful I can't complain GrinGrin

Proudmummytodc2 · 07/09/2017 21:35

Congratulations everyone!

My sister is having loads of pressure, cramps in her belly and back pain and had some plug come out and she gets her sweep tomorrow fingers crossed baby coming soon.

Fingers crossed for you too Sophie

Xxx

TeaTeaTea · 07/09/2017 22:15

aww! congratulations helsybells! (Love her name!) Wow, it really is a fast delivery thread....Once things get going at least!
Hopefully you next sophie -how are you feeling?

sophiejayne96 · 07/09/2017 22:35

Proudmummytodc2 · 08/09/2017 08:09

That's my sister in labour!! Once I posted on this thread wee pains started yesterday but she.m now in full labour yay!!

DandySeaLioness · 08/09/2017 09:11

@Proudmummytodc2 fingers crossed for your sister!!

Proudmummytodc2 · 08/09/2017 09:29

Dabdysealioness thank you things are really kicking off now she is going to phone maternity assessment soon so hopefully not too long. She has been in labour since last night usually doesn't take this long but the baby is back to back and she was told this can make it longer, hopefully not much longer, she is reading the thread she just doesn't post so I posted for her lol.

DandySeaLioness · 08/09/2017 11:48

@Proudmummytodc2 here's hoping things speed up! I've read that being on all fours helps with the back to back pain, might be worth trying that!

Proudmummytodc2 · 08/09/2017 12:43

Thanks dadysealioness

I'm going to tell her to try that now as thing just don't seem to be going as fast as it usually does for her but I suspect that's probably because it's back to back like her Midwife said.

sophiejayne96 · 08/09/2017 15:18

Sweep number 2 done. Waiting to see if anything happens is brutal. 3rd sweep booked for Sunday and induction booked for next Thursday at 7am if nothing happens.

helsybells · 08/09/2017 17:40

Sophie - good luck with your sweeps you are very brave having 3 planned! How many weeks/days are you now?

DandySeaLioness · 08/09/2017 18:57

contractions every 4 mins since 2pm. getting really painful now. Not sure what to do, do I take DD to my friend or do I not, it's her bedtime in half an hour.. shit Confused

sophiejayne96 · 08/09/2017 19:07

@helsybells 41 weeks today.
It's not too bad, anything to get him out now to be honest lol. xxx

TeaTeaTea · 09/09/2017 01:37

dandysealioness -hope you're ok, wanting to think you've had your baby?! Sounded so close! Wishing all is well Star
sophiejayne my first came 3 days after 2nd sweep so good luck! This could be your lucky sweep 😁
proudmummy how is your sister?

DandySeaLioness · 09/09/2017 02:22

@TeaTeaTea I'm home with contractions every 2.5-3 minutes, thinking about waking DP up as I really could do with some pain relief. I was only 3cm when we went to the hospital at 8pm, made me feel like a wuss! Wish I could sleep but the contractions seem much worse when I try to lie down.
