Welcome @FourForYouGlenCoco

Anyone else with a Fitbit with a HR monitor?

I've been watching my heart rate rocket since I found out - it's normally in the 50s! (61 at absolute most, but average is 56/57)

Hi everyone. I'm also due next April, app says 16th but not got a dr appt till next Friday so it might change then I guess??
Thanks OP for starting this thread it's nice to have some people to talk to who are at a similar stage. It's such a weird time, this is my first and I'm so excited but also terrified of something going wrong and trying hard not to count chickens etc!!!
Sorry I've not managed to read through everyone's posts yet but hope you are all doing well and looking after yourselves.
X

Haha love the name @fourforyouglencoco A mean girls reference is always relevant! 😂

Welcome everyone! Apologies I haven't got round to changing the name of the group to the right year, but saying that maybe having the wrong year is keeping it a bit quieter than the other group.. So it's a good thing? 😂

My twinges calmed down yesterday but still get a real sense of pulling.. So there must be serious stretching going on. Anyone using any creams or oils yet to minimise stretchmarks? Feel like I should investigate but I am rubbish at remembering to moisturise as it is!

How many of you have told other family members about your pregnancy yet? Up to now only me and my husband know, I am dying to tell my mum and dad. We have decided to get the early scan done first (next Thursday) then tell mums and dads. X

FairfaxAikman · 18/08/2017 12:47

Both my DF and DH's DM have birthdays within a week of each other in our 16th week, so we have got them birthday presents as a reveal

Shanners123 · 18/08/2017 12:49

We're waiting until week 13 @charlie just to be safe. My mum doesn't miss a trick though so I'll be surprised if she doesn't suspect something. Especially the rate I'm eating, I'll have a hard time hiding it for another 6 weeks!

That was our plan too but my mums already guessing. We normally meet my mum and Dad for a drink on a weekend but I've had to avoid them for the past 2 weekends. Starting to run out of good excuses now ha. Only 1 more week to get through then I'll tell her x

FairfaxAikman · 18/08/2017 13:05

My MIL has missed some pretty big clues. She even said to my yesterday that she doesn't think we'll have kids as we'll stick to dogsGrin

julia02 · 18/08/2017 13:07

Hi there! I am due 27 of April. I hope so 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻. Before I had 3 MC. The last one was a year ago. Now, I'm on metformin and cystogest pessaries. Today, I feel a back pain. I booked an early scan on the end of this month. I contacted GP and they told me I have to do a self referal to hospital to book appointments for my pregnancy. I don't know the reason. Other times, GP had referal me. Can u explain to me, pls? Good luck to all of u 😍😍

charlie0692 · 18/08/2017 13:25

My mil has gone on for years and years about us having kids, she's desperate for a grandchild. Panicking telling her before 12 weeks as I know she won't be able to keep the news to herself and I don't want anyone else knowing before 12 weeks. DH has told me I can't tell my mum and Dad and not tell his, which I know would be unfair, it's just I know my mum and Dad won't tell anyone else whereas MIL would be too excited not too 😔

IslingtonHels · 18/08/2017 14:06

Hi @Charlie0692, sadly by partner has not been particularly supportive so far. I have told my parents and a few close friends because I need to have a good support network. Also I am 38 on Sunday, it's my first child and therefore I think I am at higher risk than someone younger than me. If something went wrong, I would want to know my friends and family would be there for me and my pregnancy would not be a shock to them.

charlie0692 · 18/08/2017 14:22

I'm sorry to hear that @IslingtonHels I hope your partner changes soon for you! Xx

ScarletSienna · 18/08/2017 14:50

@islington, I think that's a really good idea to build support around you. I've told some of my closest friends because if I miscarry again, I know I'll bed the support. Flowers

Loosemoose28 · 18/08/2017 16:23

Mum knows.
Best friend knows but thats it.
Once had scan next week which will hopefully confirm there is a baby where it should be I will tell dad but thats it. Dad will worry until I know where it is for sure.

OhBondageUpYours · 18/08/2017 17:53

6 weeks here (ish) and hanging out of my arse. My fourth and I've never been this ill before! Basically been bed ridden all week and I cannot stop heaving. When I'm not puking I'm sleeping. Due to go on holiday in a week's time .

Congrats all on your pregnancies. Wake me up in 6 weeks.

ally62442 · 18/08/2017 20:00

I've been absolutely pants and told too many people. It's hard because a lot of people knew we were trying. So would ask me if af had arrived etc. It's my own fault. So I hope to god that everything works out! Fx

IslingtonHels · 18/08/2017 20:28

@ScarletSienna, thank you.

HarryHarry · 18/08/2017 20:43

I'm 6 weeks tomorrow, due 14 April. Found out at 11 DPO so I feel like I've been pregnant for ages! I have been bloated and crampy with very heavy boobs the whole time but now all those symptoms have gone away. Twice yesterday I had a little bit of red/pinky/orangey blood on the toilet paper but I couldn't tell where it was coming from. It seemed to be coming from both front and back!

I went to the doctor today - which was a challenge itself because we don't live in an English-speaking country right now - and she said I was probably going to lose the baby, just based on what I told her about the blood, and without even doing any tests! She also refused to send me for a scan because she said it was pointless. She told me to just go to the emergency room if I started to miscarry. I couldn't believe it! I am still optimistic but I am worried about what she said as well as about how suddenly my symptoms vanished. Can anyone offer me any hope from their own experiences?

becky48591990 · 18/08/2017 20:58

I'm due 6th April with my 3rd Smile My first 2 pregnancies I did completely alone so this one will be very strange with a supportive and excited partner! had the most vile all day long nausea for the last 3 weeks and praying it goes away because my 2 boys are getting very suspicious mummy is always poorly! You're all so lucky that you already have your midwives assigned, mine wont even see me until i'm at least 11 weeks. The anxiety is so real Confused xx

OhBondageUpYours · 18/08/2017 21:10

Harry

Symptoms have always come and gone for me in previous pregnancies. I've also had bleeding (lots in fact) and continued on no problems. Your doctor seems quite hasty to say miscarriage IMO. If you had heavy bleeding, clots and cramps I would agree, but anything less, no.

lisara79 · 18/08/2017 21:29

Welcome Becky... Harry... iv e miscarried before and the bleeding was a sign but the hospital did tell me that lots of people bleed and don't miscarry... there is still plenty of hope. Must be difficult in a different language (even if you speak it). Good luck.

ScarletSienna · 18/08/2017 22:03

@becky48591990 I'm not seeing my midwife until 10 weeks either but hoping to get a private scan in before then if I get that far. No symptoms make me anxious!

@harryharry that must be so stressful but it sounds overly dismissive on her part. Are there any options to have a paid for scan or anything where you are? Flowers

HarryHarry · 18/08/2017 22:50

There are a couple of private places but they ask for a referral from a doctor and they won't interpret the results for you. I've decided that I don't care what the doctor says. I am not going to believe it's over until it's over. Hope everyone else is progressing normally! (If there is any such thing as normal).
