Fionaclaire89 · 15/10/2017 17:50

Hi ladies... Can I join? I am due on the 2nd April and this is our first baby so we are very excited but a little bit nervous about it all.

I was recommend to join mumsnet by one of my friends who said it was so supportive and one of the beat things she did whilst she was pregnant. So I am excited to go through this amazing time with you all :)

Xx

Fionaclaire89 · 15/10/2017 18:35

Hi Smile

How's everyone feeling? X

HarryHarry · 15/10/2017 22:56

I fell off the thread for a few days so hi to all the new people! Has anybody else started buying baby stuff yet? I just bought a Nuna Mixx 2 pram/pushchair so I could get it home before the winter comes as I don't like driving to the shops in the snow (I live abroad). I have no idea what other stuff to buy except for a crib/cot and a baby carrier - I really don't want to waste money on stuff I don't really need - so any advice would be appreciated! Also is anybody else really uncomfortable nearly all the time? My bump is still small but causing me all sorts of aches and pains.

Welcome FionaClaire89. HarryHarry you look like me. About the buying items...what do we really need?
And what about clothes there are so many cute things but what do we need for t first couple months? I have searched so many sites. I live in the Caribbean so its always summer..I think plenty onesies would be ideal...
Anybody else cloth diapering I would like to.

Fionaclaire89 · 16/10/2017 08:38

Hi @HarryHarry

I was getting aches and pains in my pelvis and lower back as well. I am 16 weeks and only have a small bump but was already finding it uncomfortable sleeping. So I tried a maternity pillow one of the long sausage ones.... Best thing ever!!! My husband hates it as it takes up too much room his says but I am so comfortable sleeping now, and you can wrap it round you when your sitting watching tele. The aches and pains are so much better. I think it is my new best friend. I am not sure I will ever give it up Smile you can also use it for breast feeding when LO is here.
Has anyone else tried maternity pillows?

Xx

ClaireBear1986 · 16/10/2017 09:02

Only 13 weeks, 4 days so no need for a maternity pillow yet but I have heard great things about them so will deffo be investing in one once I get bigger.

I have a very small bump, but I am excited now to start growing. Just feel a bit fat at the moment!! Ha.

@WineAndTiramisu We have the same due date. 19th April :)

Welcome @FionaClaire89, how are you finding the pregnancy so far?

AnnaMadden · 16/10/2017 10:32

@Fionaclaire89 I've been using a sleep genii maternity pillow for a couple of weeks now and I love it...it supports my boobs, back and growing bump and I'm finally getting some sleep!

HarryHarry · 16/10/2017 13:19

FionaClaire I do have one of those pillows, it's the only thing that makes me comfortable.

Fionaclaire89 · 16/10/2017 15:29

Thanks @clairebear1986

Now I am further in to my second trimester I am finding pregnancy much easier! I am feeling more like myself and not sick and so tired anymore. So enjoying watching bump grow! I have been bonding with my bump by reading to it and massaging bump cream in which I love! How are you feeling?

I know @AnnaMadden I have a bb hugme and its so nice to get a proper nights sleep again! Although I am getting very hot at night, are you?

@HarryHarry have you told your midwife about your pains? I think they can recommend things like the Physio and certain exercises to ease it if its really bad? Hope you feel more comfortable xx

ClaireBear1986 · 16/10/2017 15:42

Glad I am not the only one getting very hot at night @Fionaclaire89.
I have the windows open, fans on and still boiling.

I'm just entering my 2nd trimester, and everyone keeps telling me this is the best stage of pregnancy, so fingers crossed.
A lot of my symptoms have calmed down, but still feel very tired. I do a total of 3 hours commuting a day on the tube though, which I think is contributing heavily to the tiredness.

ScarletSienna · 16/10/2017 18:31

I’m permanently cold!

charlie0692 · 16/10/2017 18:44

Hi all, haven't commented for a few days sorry, I'm 15w4d and for the last day I've been getting this really dull achey pain at the bottom of my belly, I'm assuming it's everything moving around/stretching etc, anyone else feeling like this? X

charlie0692 · 16/10/2017 18:45

I've also gone from not being able to get enough sleep to now not being able to sleep at all 😂 god help me when I actually get a bump because I'm already feeling uncomfortable in bed 😩 x

ScarletSienna · 16/10/2017 18:52

Round ligament pain?

charlie0692 · 16/10/2017 18:59

Had no idea what round ligament pain was @ScarletSienna ha, just googled now and it may be that xx

ScarletSienna · 16/10/2017 19:35

It’s all a mystery this pregnancy stuff even second time round!

Ninjamilo · 16/10/2017 20:20

Finally had my scan on Friday and was dated 12+1, so my dates were spot on and due 26/04.

I feel so much better now I know all is ok - although did have a bit of a panic that it took a while to get a half decent pic of baby as I apparently have a retroverted womb...

I think I may wait until the baby show in march before I buy stuff. There's no rush as we're hoping to move first anyway, and hopefully pic up a bargain along the way!

I second how amazing pregnancy pillows are - I didn't really need one yet, but only last night mentioned to my husband I wish I'd discovered them years ago!

AnnaMadden · 16/10/2017 20:30

I am always usually cold but now I'm literally constantly roasting!...especially at night! So glad I'm not the only one lol

Alnilham · 16/10/2017 21:53

I can't seem to get to sleep and I don't think that it is not because I am not comfortable. Just find myself up staring at the TV.

Loosemoose28 · 16/10/2017 22:11

Im still sick in the evenings and through night. Not sleeping well at all. Then I wake for a wee at 4.30.

Having a really fed up day today. It all caught up with me and I had a migraine today. Forced myself to take dogs out and got out of breath so quickly and then got frustrated at that.

Tomorrow is another day.

Ninjamilo · 16/10/2017 22:35

Same on the not sleeping - so tired but don't seem to sleep properly despite being super comfy!

amysaurus87 · 17/10/2017 07:18

Fell off the thread a while ago! Hello to all the new people! Had my 12 week scan last week and I've been brought forward so I'm now 14+2 with a due date of 15 April!

Not brought any baby stuff yet, probably going to wait until after Christmas!

I've started to develop a little bump which is nice, and as I commute on the tube I ordered myself a baby on board badge...havent worn it yet though!
