@IslingtonHels sounds like you have found a super supportive midwife. Do you mind me asking if you have had to pay extra for the yoga etc?

I live down south in Brighton and Hove and we have some ace services down here. Although I can't make a midwife appointment until 6 weeks and the GP said just wait for that so I am trying to not think about it for another week.

Oh the suspense! I think I am going to struggle to be patient throughout this whole pregnancy 🙂

Shanners123 · 12/08/2017 09:58

@Islingtonhels that's good, I hope he bucks up his act. Maybe he was just scared but blooming Nora he needs to get on board and sort himself out! 😁

I'll be 5w+6 at the GP on Monday, so I'm looking forward to getting the ball rolling and working out what scans happen, where and when! First baby too so I need someone to point me in the right direction 😂

Having known since the v beginning pretty much I've a feeling its going to take an age to get to 40 weeks! Partner already can't wait for the baby to arrive 😂

I think it's just a mans initial shock! This is #3 for us but it's hasn't been an easy ride at all. My DD's were both very premature so we are shitting ourself to put it nicely. Him more than me 😕 I'm still in shock as we had tried to prevent this had my marina inserted in may.... 9 weeks later it got taken out as has dislodged and got an infection. Boom I'm pregnant!! Not even had a period yet since they removed it like 3 weeks ago. So I'm gobsmacked as it took a long 2.5 years for #2! Like my mum said last night it's fantastic and it's clearly meant to be!! Hope the shock wears off soon 😂😂🙈🤰

IslingtonHels · 12/08/2017 11:12

Hi @Lisara79, we have the same due date! Amazing. No my hospital is not private, I couldn't afford that. It's the Whittington Hospital in North London, I have to pay extra for some of the classes but it's at a specially reduced rate. I just think even the fact they are offering those classes is great. Please tell me how you get on with your midwife appointment, let's definitely keep in touch.
@cloudwalk I feel you! I gave zero patience, ha ha! Funnily enough, I moved out from Brighton last year, I moved there for 10 years. I last lived at the top of St James St in Kemptown and was actually back there on Saturday for Pride. I have a very good friend who has been super-supportive of me and I am sure she can recommend good classes and groups in B&H. She told me this morning that she found Daisy Birthing a really good class to go to which is in Brighton/ Hove area. Let me know if you want me to get some more info from her.
@Shanners123 I was booked in for all my appointments yesterday and it was information overload! I have it all in a file and will go through it bit by bit at some point...good luck with finding out about your scans. My 12 weeks is booked for first week of October, please let me know when yours is. Smile
MissLadyL my goodness, the shock is crazy huh? I was on the pill, never had a scare in 20 years, got food poisoning on holiday and here we are...Do you get that thing where you wake up in the Morning, remember you are pregnant and it's a shock all over again?!
One quick question; I have the worst bloating and it's so uncomfortable. I have quite a slim waist and hips, and my tummy is swollen like a balloon. Can anyone tell me if the bloating dissipates and if so, when should I expect it to start getting better? Are there foods which ease the bloating? Thanks everyone and congratulations!

Lillygreen · 12/08/2017 11:25

Morning all. I am due April 16th! (I already have one DS)

I very nervous as had a previous ectopic (it ruptured my tube and had it removed through surgery).
GP said they won't do an early scan unless I have pain...

I am very Hmm about as last time I had pain, it was too late and they had to remove tube. Can't loose my only remaining tube!

lisara79 · 12/08/2017 11:58

Morning @lilygreen and welcome....

@islingtonhels definitely... can t believe your NHS hospital offers so much. Amazing.

ScarletSienna · 12/08/2017 13:59

Hi Lilly! This is how fully our second too. I'm nervous after a tricky pregnancy last time too so am booking an early scan that should rule out ectopic and say if it is viable etc. Our midwives don't see anyone until weeks 8-10 and the 12 week scan feels very far off.

ScarletSienna · 12/08/2017 14:00

'How fully' should say 'hopefully'!

ally62442 · 13/08/2017 09:23

How's everyone doing on this Sunday morning? Any symptoms?

I weirdly have an achy left breast! Had it since yesterday.

charlie0692 · 13/08/2017 09:46

Hey ally, other than really sensitive nipples I have no other symptoms, expected the morning sickness to kick in this week, but no sign just yet xx

lisara79 · 13/08/2017 10:04

same here... no new symptoms... still some period type pains... occasional and not too strong so not worried. My boobs hurt quite a bit yesterday but not today, just nipples... I also keep waking up stupidly early!

ally62442 · 13/08/2017 10:19

Morning @charlie0692 and @lisara79.

It's funny cause although most of the symptoms aren't that great. I want to experience more of them. Think it would just make me feel pregnant. Haha I suppose we all have it to come. I'm still quite early so there's still time.

lisara79 · 13/08/2017 10:27

@ally62442 I know... I want to feel sick and to ache so that I stop worrying about miscarrying! So strange... As we are all quite early, has anyone else been doing extra pregnancy tests.... just to Make sure? I feel like I'm going mad!

charlie0692 · 13/08/2017 10:33

I did a couple last week @lisara79 but not going to do anymore this week, it's costing a fortune hahahah. I have my appointment with the midwife on Thursday so going to ask her what symptoms are normal or not at this stage ☺ x

ally62442 · 13/08/2017 10:49

I have @lisara79 I haven't done one today (yet)! An I didn't do one yesterday but trust me I've peed on soooo many sticks! Haha. Not going to buy the expensive ones now tho. Just the cheapie ones.

IslingtonHels · 13/08/2017 12:01

Morning all! How is everyone? I've got slightly tender nipples, mild occasional nausea, mild occasional period pains and really bad bloating. I actually like the mild nausea as it comforts me that I'm still pregnant and full of hormones. Give it a couple of weeks and I will be cursing, no doubt! Booked in for a private scan at 7+2 with The Birth Centre just off Harley St. Has anyone used them before? I have had anxiety disorder my whole adult life so just want to make sure the heartbeat is there, trying to keep stress under control. Has anyone else got a 7/8 week scan booked?

charlie0692 · 13/08/2017 12:13

Hi @IslingtonHels I have a private scan booked for 7w3d (2 weeks yesterday it will be) can't wait. Panicking so much I just really want to know if there's a heartbeat! X

Shanners123 · 13/08/2017 12:48

Afternoon all! I've mild symptoms too.. swollen /tender boobs and occasional period type pain. Waiting for nausea to kick in as it might stop me eating so much!!! Have had to dash to the loo a couple of times to check I wasn't bleeding, but (tmi) just discharge!

I think having a scan will hopefully make it all feel more real. I did a couple of pregnancy tests at the start and when both were positive I was happy enough to leave it at that and wait for an official blood test or scan to confirm it. Don't think I'll believe it's true and happening until a health professional tells me and gives me evidence though.

ally62442 · 13/08/2017 12:52

I'm going for my scan on the 23rd. I'll only be 6 weeks which is mega early. Looking forward to it but very anxious and nervous.

ScarletSienna · 13/08/2017 13:15

I've not got any symptoms but I didn't last time either. Trying to resist a too early scan as if there is no heartbeat detected I'll worry and have to go back anyway so am going to book for 7-8 weeks I think. Still get a few cramps and I too keep 'checking' by running to the loo.

ally62442 · 13/08/2017 16:27

I wish I was going a little later tbh @ScarletSienna it's only cause of my blood condition that I'm having to go early. So Im worried they won't pick up a heart beat at 6 weeks.

ScarletSienna · 13/08/2017 18:13

But if they don't then you know why-you need the scan so mustn't worry. Isn't this all so worrying and we are only a month in!

lisara79 · 13/08/2017 21:15

So many worries... I want to make plans but I don't want to tempt fate. Today I passed where I got to in my last pregnancy and I'm feeling positive but still....

ScarletSienna · 13/08/2017 21:34

Lisara-I'm almost at where I miscarried before so now every single twinge is worrying me. It's in the back of my mind constantly.

WineAndTiramisu · 13/08/2017 22:21

Hi all, finally moved off the conception board to this one, due end of April :-)

Panicking lots though, it's my first pregnancy and I'm 33, been looking at the early scans, but wondering if it'll just make me worse if they can't see anything!
Definitely looking at the harmony testing as well, does anyone have any experience of these tests?
