Thanks @charlie0692 😀

Hi,

I'm new here. Currently 9 weeks pregnant with my first child. due date is 24th April 18.
I had my booking appointment last week. The midwife came to my home and was lovely. Just waiting for a letter with my scan date. So far I've not really had any symptoms, apart from bad migraines and slightly tender boobs. It was much worse at 5-6 weeks and since then its all gone away. (guess I should be grateful but sometimes I wish I was more sick just so I know everything's ok)

ClaireBear1986 · 19/09/2017 14:17

I'm going to buy bras this weekend, as my boobs are so painful. Can't sleep, can't walk without holding them. Never known pain like it. So just really hoping maternity bras help.
Had to buy a few items in bigger sizes, as I am quite bloated. Looked like a whale in my work uniform. Ha ha.

I'm getting a bit worried as I still haven't heard from my Midwife, and I will be 10 weeks on Thursday. I rang to chase up and they advised someone would be in touch within the next 3 weeks. Is this normal procedure as this seems quite late to leave it?

Myalterego1 · 19/09/2017 14:49

@SC126 we have same due date same as u I don't have much symptoms tiredness is all which is getting a bit better the last few days and right boob does b sore n mornings random I no

profRiverSong · 19/09/2017 17:56

@roguenation im 8+3 today i was lucky/unlucky to have a scan last week at the early pregnancy unit due to some complications and got to see the little flutter of a heartbeat in there. Things have been horrid with this pregnancy all the symptoms you can imagine.

Hope everyone is healthy and happy xx

AnnaMadden · 19/09/2017 19:33

Scan went well although baby was still too small to do the abnormalities tests today so I have another scan in 10 days but so good to see a healthy heart beat and arms and legs kicking about 😍

Lots of appts and scan dates coming through now! And there's even a May 2018 thread - we've graduated to not-quite-newbie status Smile
Claire I think it's different everywhere. It does seem quite late tbh but I guess if you've chased and they're ok with it then it's just how they do things where you are. Do you have a date for your 12w scan? If not, I'd give it til 11w and then chase again specifically for the scan - there's a fairly limited time frame when they can do the testing, if you want it, so it's quite important to get scanned at the right time.

Anna amazing scan photo! A proper little baby, wow! What did they date you at?

I'm supposed to have my booking appt on Thursday but all the mw clinics are full so was meant to be having a home visit. Someone was supposed to be in touch but I've heard nothing; I'm not hugely fussed about having it but would be nice to know what's going on! Just wait and see I guess.

AnnaMadden · 20/09/2017 07:24

@FourForYouGlenCoco they dated me as 11 weeks exactly yesterday which gives me a EDD of 9th of April. I was shocked at how much like a baby it looks too lol...was expecting more of a jelly bean I think 😂

ClaireBear1986 · 20/09/2017 10:47

Congrats on your scan @AnnaMadden. Hearing that strong heartbeat is such a relief :) My early scan just looked like a blob, so hoping to see a bit more at the 12 week scan. But as long as he/she is healthy, that's all that matters to me.

@FourForYouGlenCoco Thanks for the advise. I got home last night and the letter was waiting for me. 1st app with Midwife (which I assume is the booking in app, sorry 1st baby and still learning) next Wed and scan the following day. So now I just want it to be next week.

roguenation · 20/09/2017 14:52

@profRiverSong wow we are 1 day apart from each other 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

Fam727221 · 20/09/2017 17:17

Am also 10weeks pregnant and my due date is 14 April 2018. It's my 4th baby.. Can't wait to hold that bundle of joy

Loosemoose28 · 20/09/2017 19:28

Had a bleed (through my knickers) at 9+4 all well on scan and no explanation for the bleedConfused.

But whats important is baby is fine and evem did a little bounce on the screen.

SC126 · 20/09/2017 19:42

Had my scan date in the post today Smile. I'll get to see the little bean for the first time on the 12th October and I'll be 12+2 days. So excited!

AnnaMadden · 20/09/2017 19:47

Glad to hear all is well @Loosemoose28. Rest up and take it easy Flowers

Ashleigh1989 · 20/09/2017 20:00

Hello ladies. Not been on in a while. It's lovely to see all these scan pictures.
I'm looking for advice. Sorry if it seems like a stupid question. I have a wedding to attend on Saturday and not everyone knows I'm expecting. I'm only going to be 9 weeks on Monday and I'm showing already. Probably all the eating I'm doing. What are your thoughts on wearing pull me in knickers whilst pregnant? I understand not all eyes will be on me although I am a witness so will have to be going to the front. Sorry if it seems a silly question. Confused

lisara79 · 20/09/2017 20:03

@ashleigh1989 I had the same dillema this weekend but decided it wasn't worth the risk in the end. I still find myself asleep on my tummy in the mornings and I'm sure it won't hurt but I think a looser dress and a "I know iv e put so much weight on" line may be safer... worked for me x

AnnaMadden · 20/09/2017 20:32

@ashleigh1989 It's not advisable to wear spanx when pregnant but I think this more applies to when the baby is bigger and has less room in the womb. But I guess the ultimate decision whether you take that risk is up to you. I'd personally just opt for a less figure hugging outfit and blame any comments on recent 'over indulgence' 😉

roguenation · 21/09/2017 08:44

I received my nuchal dating scan date in the post yesterday and for some reason they want me to have the scan at gone 14w? Isn't it supposed to be at 12w?
It feels like a long time to wait to see little bean again

Loosemoose28 · 21/09/2017 08:52

Roguenataion the combined screening scan is 11-14 weeks so yes 14 weeks is too late for it. Call and discuss with midwife.

ClaireBear1986 · 21/09/2017 11:10

Thanks for posting that information @Loosemoose28.

My scan is booked in for when I am 11 weeks exactly, so I am going to ring them and double check as I am keen to ensure I can have all the screening tests done.

roguenation · 21/09/2017 11:16

Thanks @Loosemoose28 I'll call her today

HarryHarry · 21/09/2017 15:51

10+5 today. I thought I'd gotten away with having no real morning sickness (just vague nausea) but it caught up with me today. Hope this vomiting isn't going to last too much longer, I'm putting a lot of hope in the fact that for most women it subsides by the end of the first trimester.

WineAndTiramisu · 22/09/2017 09:40

Good to see all these scans!
I've got another scan tomorrow (as we're having the harmony test done) at mothercare, looking forwards to seeing it again, and hoping all is ok. I'll be 10 weeks tomorrow

Got date for 12w scan, luckily first appointment in the morning so hoping I won't be waiting hours!

AnnaMadden · 22/09/2017 10:01

@ClaireBear1986 I has mine at 11 weeks dead on and they couldn't do any of the tests. Baby has to be a minimum of 50mm which the doctor said is usually from 12 weeks onwards so I have to go back in 14 days!
