@Loosemoose28 I desperately need to! Really struggling with what to buy though as I'm normally a 30H, and the maternity ranges I've seen don't seem to cater for bigger sizes :-(

HarryHarry · 07/09/2017 15:05

Wonderfullysunny Yeah I already did it while I was in the UK but haven't been able to upload the pics as I'm not back home yet.

WineAndTiramisu · 07/09/2017 18:11

I've booked a private scan on Saturday at 8 weeks as I panicked last night as I'd not felt sick in 2 days, so convinced myself there's something wrong...
Feeling very nauseous now, so no idea what's going on.
Didn't vomit in the exam either which was a bonus!

Hope everyone is getting on OK

Loosemoose28 · 07/09/2017 20:18

Result not puking in exam.

Im beginning to wish I could puke. Retching all the time- nothing comes up but still feel just as nauseas. By abs (wherever they may be) now hurt.

Bananamama1213 · 07/09/2017 22:03

10+4 today!

I had to have a blood test today, the midwife couldn't get any blood out at the 8 week appointment haha!!

I'm so excited for my scan, it's on the 20th. So less than 2 weeks now!!

Then I can actually announce and stop trying to hide the obvious baby belly on the school run.. 3rd baby so the belly just popped out quickly!

PGTips83 · 08/09/2017 11:10

@WonderfullySunny and @HarryHarry - I'm also in a foreign country! How funny - are there more people on here outside of Britain? I have mixed feelings about being abroad for my first pregnancy. I've found a gyn/ob who speaks perfect English but I guess the rest of the staff might not. But here the healthcare gives you a single room for four nights after you've delivered so I'm pretty happy about that! Will you both be able to choose your own doctors?

Anyone else discovered that rice crackers are your new best friend? My enemy right now is egg - BLEURRGHHHH!

PGTips83 · 08/09/2017 11:14

@Teeeee I just realised you're abroad too! Hahaha, are we all on here because we're homesick? :)

AnnaMadden · 08/09/2017 11:58

Hello everyone, hope it's ok to join this thread. From my dates I'm due 9th April, scan to confirm next Tuesday. A week after returning from honeymoon we discovered I was expecting. A little shocked to say the least, but delighted. Nervous this time round though...older and wiser I guess! 😊

Shanners123 · 08/09/2017 12:24

@amysaurus I got a letter this week from my hosp for my 12 week scan. But it took about 4 weeks to arrive since I went to the GP. Haven't heard from a midwife, the letter is all I have! And by the scan in 3 weeks I'll be 11wk6days so should be able to see lots. I'm not worried so am happy to wait for that scan. I'm in northern Ireland so things are probably quite slow here compared to the mainland!

I've still got nausea but not being sick, and sore boobs but don't think they're growing anymore than they have already. Pants are getting tighter though so might have to invest in some stretchy waistlines! Was looking at new coats for winter last night but then got confused.. Will it even fit me by then? How do you know what size to buy? Any good maternity brand recommendations?

ally amazing scan photo! Starting to look like a proper little baby Smile
Wine well done on the exam, good job on the not puking too. Let us know how Saturday goes!

Anna congrats and welcome. Is it your first?
PG no to rice crackers...currently living on white bread rolls with butter, a slice of that weird plasticky burger cheese, and hot chopped tomatoes (the tinned stuff)...sounds so weird but I cannot get enough. It also seems to be the only thing I can eat again - go off everything else after eating it once. Not puking but very nauseous.
No new bras here loosemoose, but my boobs are completely ruined from bf two big fat babies Grin they've never really recovered!

Had a call from lovely midwife earlier - mw clinics round here are totally booked basically for ever, so will be having a home visit for my booking appt in a few weeks, will be 9+4. She did (very nicely!) say there was no chance of getting an early scan, so think we'll get a private one at some point next week. Can't handle waiting til 12 weeks, need to know there is actually a point to feeling this crap!

ally62442 · 08/09/2017 15:05

Omg the exhaustion is sooo bad. I have so so much to do and absolutely no motivation to get anything done. It's starting to effect my workload. Anyone else struggling?

WineAndTiramisu · 08/09/2017 15:23

ally I'm lay on the sofa playing on the internet and contemplating a nap... It's definitely not just you!

AnnaMadden · 08/09/2017 17:00

FourForYouGlenCoco thank you. No this will be my forth! But my youngest is 18 years old now so pretty much like starting again! I think that's why I'm so nervous. I feel nauseous occasionally, my boobs are sore and now too big for my regular bras and I am constantly exhausted! Looking forward to our scan on the 19th to hopefully put my mind at rest a bit 🤔

julia02 · 08/09/2017 18:01

Hi, girls! I had a reassurance scan a week ago. Everything looks fine, but dr told me to go after 2 weeks. This week I had right side pain and I went to A & E. They booked a scan on that day. I saw the baby again 😍😍. Now, I am a little bit worried is it ok to do next week the reassurance scan. Is it dangerous to have 3 scans in 3 weeks??? Many thanks

charlie0692 · 08/09/2017 18:06

How is everyone feeling? I'm currently 9w2d and although I felt like the symptoms were easing off a bit earlier this week they seem to have come back full force today 🤢 all day nausea (sick only a couple of times) and just no energy what so ever!!

jcsc · 08/09/2017 19:46

Hi can I join in please. I'm due on the 24th April. This is my 4th pregnancy and I had a private scan and found out we are having twins (non identical) baby number 4&5!! I've got another private scan booked for Monday as I'm such a worrier.

WineAndTiramisu · 09/09/2017 13:52

Scan all ok, so much happier now Grin
Good heartbeat seen, they dated it at 8 weeks, which is exactly what I thought I was as well.

Teeeee · 09/09/2017 14:51

Hello @AnnaMadden and @jcsc :) me and @WonderfullySunny are due a day after you @jcsc :)

wow @WineAndTiramisu so cool! Loving scan photos.

Ha! Yes @PGTips83 I certainly think I am! It's a bit of an extra adventure having a baby abroad.

How is everyone doing? My aversion to food is evolving, I am now only eating rice, and my nausea has also gotten worse and am now enacting that scene from exorcist with the projectile vomiting over and again. Glorious.

HarryHarry · 09/09/2017 15:52

Welcome to all the people who joined while I've been away! It's good to know that I'm not the only one doing this in a foreign country (PGTips, Teeeee, WonderfullySunny). Congratulations to all, especially jcsc with your twins!

I'm back home now so I've finally been able to upload my early private scan photo. They dated it at 8 weeks 2 days (even though it was only 7 weeks 6 days after LMP) with a heartbeat of 180 bpm. They said the black blob in the bottom left hand corner of the baby-shaped thing is the brain, the small white blobs further along are the arms and legs, and the white blob at the other end is the yolk sac. So exciting!

Hi all not been posting in a while but still keeping up welcome @jcsc we have same due date and I'm also on my 4th had early scan at 6wks and seen 1 little bean I'm back at 9wks to have another scan also received my booking in appointment for 10/10 which will be 12 wks so nice to have 3 scans by then only had the early ones due to high risk of ectopic in n Ireland so thinks a little bit different then England thankfully have had no real symptoms just bn sooo tired all the time I usually function on 2/3 hours sleep now I could sleep 24/7 was same in last 3 pregnancy

Loosemoose28 · 09/09/2017 21:37

We get early early scans here too for history of ectopic @alterego. I have had 3 in total now.

Can I ask, in Ireland can you self to refer to EPU with any problems? I am going to Galway in October so would be nice to know if I can if needs be.

Loosemoose28 · 09/09/2017 21:45

@ harryharry lovely scan photo.

@wine seeing that heart beat is just the best feeling ever!!' Currently we have two heartbeats each ❤️ Or maybe 3 in some cases Wink

Myalterego1 · 09/09/2017 21:57

@Loosemoose28 I was referred by my doctor but I know most hospitals have epu so if you find the hospital closest to you when in Galway and ring them if any problems I can't imagine there would be problem seeing you, I don't no if ye get a maternity file like we do (i know some hospitals don't use them) that you keep with you at all times ( it's great if you end up going to a different hospital or doctor and everything is there for them to see)

lisara79 · 09/09/2017 22:24

I'm really hoping to see a little heart beat tomorrow... private scan at 9w tomorrow... either the best of worst birthday present.... I'm so nervous!

charlie0692 · 09/09/2017 22:40

Best of luck for your scan tomorrow @lisara79 ☺ we had a private scan at 7w1d here's a pic. Not sure what's what but there was a little heartbeat there 😍
