@PGTips83 I know exactly how you feel with the nips thing - I feel like they are getting in the way! 🤣

I don't have a lot of symptoms yet apart from boobs are a bit bigger and I'm tired and hungry, which doesn't reassure me much!

Very tempted with a private scan to put my mind at rest a bit

Loosemoose28 · 05/09/2017 17:59

Erm are we changing the name to April 2018 ?

lisara79 · 05/09/2017 18:03

Hi All... my lovely mum booked me my early reassurance scan today for sunday... both excited and terrified! Had a little cry when the email came through... I'll be 9+1... still so nervous after previous loss...

ally62442 · 05/09/2017 18:34

I've got my next scan tomorrow morning. I'm starting to get nervous. Hopefully everything has progressed fine since 6 weeks. Can't wait to see how much baby has grown since then!

Loosemoose28 · 05/09/2017 19:20

ally62442 · 06/09/2017 10:54

My scan went really well this morning. Baby is now measuring 14.1mm compared to 1.3mm last time.

That's brilliant @ally62442! How far along are you?

ally62442 · 06/09/2017 11:30

@lisara79 The ultrasound lady said 7 weeks 6 days. The comparison from my last scan to this is amazing. You can even see the little legs and arms starting to form.

Shanners123 · 06/09/2017 12:01

@loosemoose I have requested a name change so waiting to hear back from mumsnet admins!

Hi all,

The OP has been in touch to let us know that the title should read 'pregnancies due April 2018' rather than 2017 - we're just going to edit this now!

So pleased your scan went well ally

profRiverSong · 06/09/2017 14:47

Awww so pleased that your scan went well. X

amysaurus87 · 06/09/2017 16:39

I can't wait for my first scan. I'm 7weeks6days today! I've been freaking out a bit as a lot of my symptoms have vanished, though I still have retching and heaving on and off throughout day which is not pleasant at all.

Out of interest how long did it take for you to get midwife appointments? My GP referred me to my local birth centre over 3 weeks ago and I've not heard anything! I've not had a booking in appointment with a midwife either.

HarryHarry · 06/09/2017 16:43

I live abroad at the moment in a place where they don't really have midwives. I have an appointment with a doctor at the local hospital in Week 11 (2 1/2 weeks away) and that's it. Feel a bit lost as it's my first pregnancy and I never thought I'd have to do it in a foreign country and in a foreign language :(

Loosemoose28 · 06/09/2017 17:33

Guidelines are booking in for 8 weeks but you need your bloods before first scan if getting screening done.
Ive slightly cheated-
My friend is a midwife so have gone through her rather than GP.

ScarletSienna · 06/09/2017 18:02

@amysaurus87 First midwife appointment is usually between 8-10 weeks. Mine will be 9 weeks 5 days. We book directly with the surgery rather than get called back so if I was you I'd call again as you don't want to be told last minute then need time off work etc.

@Ally fab scan photo!

amysaurus87 · 06/09/2017 18:39

Thanks @ScarletSienna and @Loosemoose28 I'll give them a call in the morning!

It's all so exciting!

ally62442 · 06/09/2017 19:22

Thanks ladies. Still can't believe how much it's grown. Can't wait to see it at 12 weeks now.

@Loosemoose28 I cheated too as my mums a midwife. Missed out the doctors completely. Plus I have all the advice I need on tap.

WonderfullySunny · 06/09/2017 20:07

@PGTips83 ahhhhh! So glad your scan went well! I know what you mean about work, my days are normally 10hrs minimum. I woke up this morning and felt awful I just couldn't face going in, went back to sleep and didn't wake up until 1pm! I feel so much better now though even the weird hungry/nausea feeling has buggered off for a bit...small wins! With work I think it depends on the relationship you have with the boss and the approach that is taken with maternity, what's your gut feeling?

@HarryHarry I'm in the same boat, first pregnancy and also in a very foreign country not exactly how I imagined it would be but hey the norm here is for single rooms upon delivery so not all bad! Could you pay for an early scan privately so you don't have to wait until 11 weeks?

@Teeeee I hope the chips made it back OK! Hoping you managed to eat them ok with no chip aversions developing...god can you imagine how awful that would be?!

@ally62442 Lovely picture! It's amazing how much little one has grown

@Shanners123 Yay nice one on the title update!!

WonderfullySunny · 07/09/2017 08:36

@WineAndTiramisu rock the exam today!🍀🍀🍀🍀🍀🍀

Loosemoose28 · 07/09/2017 09:42

Ive just had to buy new bras.... anyone else?

Teeeee · 07/09/2017 09:51

@WonderfullySunny @HarryHarry
I'm also in a foreign country with my first pregnancy! So we're also pregnancy abroad buddy's Wink be very interesting to know what the diff countries approaches and advice might be. My scan is directly with my gyny who speaks decent English so I've not had to worry about language so far.

Chips did make it thanks :)

Cant believe how much I've been sleeping! Anyone else?

@ally62442 that is a beautiful scan photo. Making me a little broody.. finally. Havent really felt broody at all so far, cant wait till mine now.
