@Ashleigh1989 in my last pregnancy:
6 week scan (internal) saw heartbeat
8.2 week scan (internal) "
8.6 week scan (external) saw heartbeat

charlie0692 · 30/08/2017 19:25

It was an external scan on my tummy @Ashleigh1989 ☺. In the place I booked the scan they wouldn't let you book if you were any less than 7 weeks x

Ashleigh1989 · 30/08/2017 19:39

Thank you @ScarletSienna and @charlie0692 this place I'm going is from 7 weeks. I'm happy with any as long as I get to see my little bean. 12 days seems ages to wait. I'm very impatient this time around. Never felt so anxious and worried before.

Blueeyes91 · 30/08/2017 20:03

I had an external scan done at 7 weeks and they found my bean pretty instantly, hopefully for you scan your little bean won't be trying to hide! @Asheligh1989 I had to wait a week before I could have my scan so I get the nerves, we're all here if you every need to let off some steam!

CaffeineBomb · 31/08/2017 08:55

I have my private scan this weekend at exactly 8 weeks. I know I should be excited but I just want it over with so I can start to relax

Griffin252 · 31/08/2017 11:27

I have my booking appointment later today, I'm sure there are so many questions I should ask but I can't think of any. My scan is Saturday and I am so excited but also feeling I want it over now so I know if everything is okay.

dmc23 · 31/08/2017 12:43

Had another appointment yesterday and couldn't be happier my little dot is in the right place and I'm about 6-7 weeks honestly cannot express to you all how happy I am and how thankful I am for all your support xxx

Ashleigh1989 · 31/08/2017 13:30

That's brilliant news @dmc23 . Congratulations. Patiently counting down the days until my early scan.

Newtothis87 · 31/08/2017 16:13

Hiya
Not been on for a few days.
I'm now 5+5 , 6 weeks on Saturday.
I've got nipples soreness and nausea. I keep getting slight pains on my left side and achey back at the bottom. Is this normal???

Griffin252 · 31/08/2017 16:18

@Newtothis87 this sounds exactly like what I had around my 4th and 5th weeks. By 6 weeks I felt fine again and now nothing. Not sure if it's normal but I definitely had it. My pains would change from the side to in the middle under my belly button.

Newtothis87 · 31/08/2017 16:22

@Griffin252 thanks ok. It's my first pregnancy so trying not to be paranoid about every little thing, I see the midwife on the 14th September. Will keep an eye on it its not painful. X

Griffin252 · 31/08/2017 16:30

@Newtothis87 yeah I guess if it gets more painful then speak to someone. I'm 7+4 and have my appointment today - eek. It's also my first pregnancy so it all feels pretty surreal!

Newtothis87 · 31/08/2017 16:53

@Griffin252 eeeekkkk good luck for your appointment.

Ninjamilo · 31/08/2017 18:34

Hi ladies, another April baby due here fingers crossed, 27/04.

The receptionists at my doctors had no idea when I could even expect a phone call from the midwife - only 6 weeks gone but I'm a worrier anyway and like to have things planned! It's our first so no idea what to expect....I just know I'm super hungry and super tired!

Griffin252 · 31/08/2017 20:25

Congrats @Ninjamilo, it's a crazy time isn't it. Luckily I haven't had the hunger. Hopefully you will hear soon about an appointment!

ally62442 · 01/09/2017 09:49

Feeling a little fed up this morning. It seems I can sleep all day if I wanted to but when it comes to going sleep at night my mind is in overdrive!

As well as my normal job I'm a part time photographer. It's been playing on my mind that I have two weddings booked in for next April already. An I'm going to have to let them down. I've messaged one this morning. I'm hoping I don't get a funny reply. With not being in this situation before I'm not quite sure what I'm meant to do.

Then tonight I'm out after work for my fella's aunties birthday. We were initially going to give her a scan picture as a surprise. But my fella has gone of the idea and is acting completely distant. I think he's taken over having the periods!! So now I'm just going to have to lie and say I'm on antibiotics so can't drink. I'm hoping they buy it. I'm not very good at telling lies.

Sorry for the rant.

HarryHarry · 01/09/2017 15:05

Had my scan this morning. They said the baby and the sac looked perfect, just under 18mm long and measuring right on target for 8 weeks. (LMP was 7 weeks 6 days ago, baby measures 8 weeks 2 days. Not sure how that's possible but it sounds good anyway!) Also saw and heard the heartbeat which was 180 bpm. There was no sign of blood in the uterus which means the spotting must be coming from irritation of the cervix. Yay!

Griffin252 · 01/09/2017 15:44

@HarryHarry that sounds amazing! I'm so pleased it all went okay for you! I have mine tomorrow and will be 7+5 so maybe it will be similar. Do you feel reassured about it all now?

@ally62442 I understand why you must feel awkward about cancelling on your clients but I'm sure they will understand. You've given them lots of notice to rearrange and I think people are more understanding than you'd think sometimes!
Annoying about tonight, having to lie is really not ideal. I've had to do it once at a social thing but I'm trying to avoid all social situations until I am able to tell everyone. Perhaps tell your partner how you feel and that you really would like to tell them. See if it gets you anywhere?

HarryHarry · 01/09/2017 15:49

Thanks Griffin - yeah I feel so much better now though of course it could still go wrong. But as of now it is growing exactly on target so that's a huge relief. Best of luck with yours, I'm sure it will be perfect!

Ninjamilo · 01/09/2017 17:51

Good luck for tomorrow @Griffin252, glad your scan went well @HarryHarry. I'm tempted to go private for an early scan rather than wait 12 weeks, although I know I'd still worry after that anyway!

Struggling today - everything I've read says boobs don't grow too much too quickly, mine are so painful and none of my bras fit already! This is going to be a long 8 months...

Griffin252 · 01/09/2017 20:27

@HarryHarry was your scan external?

@Ninjamilo oh no. That doesn't sound great, hopefully that will slow down soon. A friend had that and had to get new bras really early on.

HarryHarry · 01/09/2017 21:30

@Griffin Yes it was. I didn't think I would be as relieved as I am. If anyone else is really worried like I was, I think it's well worth spending the money to get a private scan.

FourForYouGlenCoco · 01/09/2017 21:31

Harry fab news about your scan! I had loads of spotting & bleeding with DC2 and no cause was ever found, must have been a grumpy cervix! So glad all looks good for you Smile
ally don't worry about letting people down - you've given them lots of notice, and people are nice about things like that when it involves babies! I'm sure they'll just be happy for you.
ninja hi and congratulations - and fingers crossed the boobs slow down soon! Don't worry about the mw - mostly they won't see you until 8+ weeks anyway so you have ages yet.

Well my beloved smallest woke up last night at 2am and didn't go back to sleep til 4am 😴 fair to say I was slightly fucked today. Am sticking to 2 coffees a day (plus coffee makes me feel pukey, but can't function without it!) and God I needed them today. Shall be heading to bed shortly with everything crossed for a better night. The tiredness has really ramped up the nausea too, not fun! Only a few days left of summer holidays though so making the most of them.

Loosemoose28 · 01/09/2017 21:39

So lovely to hear so many beans seen on scan. Aoril really is looking busy isnt it 😊

I hve a scan monday- hope to see a heart beat and will be nice if its an external scan but lets see.

I have been feeling very sick recently.
Not actually being sick but retching a lot.

Does anyone else feel like the room is swaying around all the time? Using sea sick bands now which help and caved today GP Monday to beg for anti sickness as by 4pm
I can't function.

amysaurus87 · 02/09/2017 08:57

Hello everyone! Joining this quite late as I got confused by the April 2017 date...can I blame baby brain yet?

I'm due 19 April so I'm about 7 weeks at the moment Smile it's my first pregnancy, can't wait for my first scan...I think I'll finally believe I'm actually having a baby then!
