Welcome FPAN and neuron and congratulations!
neuron I think you'll be fine keeping your wedding date provided everything is planned/ready to be organised before baby arrives - you really don't want to be trying to sort wedding stuff with a newborn baby! But no reason not to go ahead and you'll have lovely memories of the day with baba there Smile
Im 6+2 and pregnancy symptoms aren't too bad yet - I have a 5yo and 1yo and my little one still wakes up in the night so I'm permanently exhausted anyway and haven't noticed much change there! Boobs are wrecked from bf 2 babies so nothing there either, nipples are a bit sore but nothing major. Nausea has started in the last week or so - keep getting big waves of feeling awful but it goes off again. Have massively gone off sweet stuff, and am very breathless - went for a run the other day for the first time in a couple of weeks and really struggled!
shanners re money, it's ridiculous. Kids themselves are not expensive - I agree with sienna, people buy so much useless crap and it's just a giant waste of money. I personally would only buy the absolute essentials until baby is actually here and then buy the stuff you really need as you go. We had so much expensive rubbish first time round that never got used, must have spent thousands! Tbh the biggest cost IME is childcare - I went back to work full time after DD and after paying for full time childcare, was coming out with about £50 a month, it was utterly pointless. I became a SAHM before DS was born so didn't have to worry about it with him, but would have had to give up work anyway as wouldn't have been able to afford 2x childcare! I'm lucky that DH is happy & able to be the breadwinner for a while. We have no regular family support though - if family can provide childcare, even part time, it's a completely different story.

Hey All.... I hope everyone's is doing ok... I am being paranoid again... I have my booking appointment tomorrow... I'm 7w4d so it's a little earlier than they like. I am absolutely paranoid about all my symptoms being psychosomatic and not being pregnant at all... iv e had only a little sickness today and my boobs haven't been too bad so convincing myself all is not ok... I'm usually such a positive person and I'm really struggling with this. Will the midwife actually check my hormone levels tomorrow? I don't want to do another pregnancy test invade it's lighter and I freak myself out! oh god... the craziness... Will it end?

HarryHarry · 29/08/2017 17:41

So sad for islingtonhels. I really wanted things to work out for her.

lisara79 I think we're due on the same date - April 14th? - and I'm feeling exactly the same way. I'm convinced my symptoms are going away. I feel only vaguely nauseous and my boobs feel lighter than they have in weeks. I am also still spotting, once a day, for about 7 days in a row now. I finally caved in and decided to book an early scan just to see if there's anything actually in there but I don't feel hopeful at all.

ScarletSienna · 29/08/2017 18:01

@lisara79, the midwife won't check hormones etc which I find odd as it isn't until 12 weeks that anyone actually checks there is a pregnancy. Hence the early scans being offered by so many private places I guess. I said just last night to DH that it's really hard not knowing what is happening inside your own body. The first trimester is really hard.

Don't do another test! After a while, the hormones are so strong that the tests can't cope and some people have had them say 'not pregnant' because of it even when all is fine.

lisara79 · 29/08/2017 18:59

@harryharry and @scarletsienna Thank you for understanding! I think I will book an early scan for next week. It really is difficult having no idea if things are going ok...

Griffin252 · 29/08/2017 19:32

@HarryHarry and @lisara79 I'm similar to you and due 16th April, I also have barely any symptoms anymore. I felt it a few weeks ago but now there's nothing.
I have my booking appointment on Thursday and feel like a bit of a fraud going when I literally have no idea if there's anything there! Definitely had two positive tests but it's just strange right now.

ScarletSienna · 29/08/2017 20:16

I'm so glad to have this board as lots of us seem to be experiencing and worrying about the same so therefore really understand! I've booked a scan for the 15th. I should be 9+5 then if it all goes well.

Griffin252 · 29/08/2017 20:28

I agree that it's great speaking to people going through the same. I google so much but it's much better discussing it with actual people.
I've just booked and early scan for Saturday. I go away next week and just would really like to know before then if all is well.

HarryHarry · 29/08/2017 20:31

I've got my private scan on Friday and I'm trying to prepare myself for the possibility that there might not be anything in there. It really is so strange knowing you're pregnant but not having any idea what is happening.

Bananamama1213 · 29/08/2017 20:44

I'm due April 1st with baby number 3!
(Haven't had a scan yet, so that may change!)

I was 9 weeks on Sunday :)

Griffin252 · 29/08/2017 21:17

Good luck for your scan on Friday @HarryHarry let us know how it goes!

ScarletSienna · 29/08/2017 21:56

Congrats @Bananamama1213

Good luck with scans all!

Sorry not posted n while but reading everyday welcome to all the newbies and sorry to hear a few girls having tough time hope things work out for ye....so today I had my early scan 6wks today and looking like babe is in the right spot even tiny pulse for heartbeat was such a relief back n 3 weeks as was so early can't wait to see what be like then 😘 but only thing a bit tmi but very constipated so made for difficult viewing so I need to fine something to cure this for next time it's something I suffer with all the time but in pregnancy it's like total system shut down I no not nice topic but need to find solutions so all suggestions welcome

Ashleigh1989 · 30/08/2017 07:08

What would you say is the earliest you could have a private scan without being disappointed that you might not see or hear anything as it's to early. I am very much the same as some of you. Don't quite believe believe I'm pregnant. I'm only 5+2 and I'm gonna do my own head in waiting until 12 weeks.

Myalterego1 · 30/08/2017 07:28

@Ashleigh1989 I had mine yesterday at 6 wks and she had said we b very lucky to see anything now we did see the sac and a pulse meaning there was a heartbeat but said was one of the few to have something so early my dates are exact so maybe wait 1 wks from today u should see my cycle is 28days and ovulation was on day 15

Ashleigh1989 · 30/08/2017 07:53

Thank you. I think I've got my dates right. First day of my last period was the 24th of July. I only finished my contraceptive pill on the 19th of July so it's all happened very quick. I have a hospital appointment on the 11th of september. Just to book in and talk about my previous pregnancy and any family history they may need to know. I just feel very anxious that it's no real.

ally62442 · 30/08/2017 08:27

@Ashleigh1989 I had a scan at 6 weeks and we also got to see a tiny little bean with a heartbeat. I had to have an internal one as normal ultrasound didn't pick anything up. My little baby only measured at 1.3mm so the ultrasound lady said I was somewhere in between 5-6 weeks. Mine wasn't a private scan it was for medical reasons. I'm going again next week so I'll be somewhere between 7 and 8 weeks.

Ashleigh1989 · 30/08/2017 09:12

I'm unsure whether to book one or wait. I don't think I'll be able to put my mind at ease unless I do book one though. I'll have a word with my partner later. I'll be 6 weeks on Monday. When would you advise booking one? I want to enjoy this pregnancy but find myself worrying to much.

ally62442 · 30/08/2017 09:32

I'd definitely wait till 7/8 I know it's easy for me to say as I had a scan at 6 weeks and was able to see things etc. But before that scan I worked myself up so much worrying about whether I was going to see anything at all. An I really wanted to see a heart beat and this isn't always seen so early. At least at 7/8 weeks everything should be able to be seen. On a normal ultrasound too. I remember thinking after my 6 weeks scan how horrible the wait would be in between that scan and the next if I wasn't able to see anything yet. So if you can I'd try and wait. If your a natural worrier (like me) and your disappointed with the first scan it will only make you worse.

FourForYouGlenCoco · 30/08/2017 12:57

ashleigh if you do book I'd try and wait til 7+ weeks at least. The longer you leave it, the more likely you are to see something and the better the outcomes are (I think the later in the first trimester you see a heartbeat, the lower your risk of mc, if that makes sense). I'm waiting til next week (currently 6+3) to get in touch with the mw and am hoping she'll offer me an early scan (history of mc). If not I'll book a private one for 8ish weeks.

Ashleigh1989 · 30/08/2017 14:46

Thank you for your messages ladies. I appreciate your advice. I am booked in for the 11th. I will be exactly 7 weeks on that date. I don't think I can wait any longer. Hopefully it puts my mind at ease.

lisara79 · 30/08/2017 17:15

Hi All... had my booking in appointment with the midwife today... due to my bmi, age and blood pressure, I'll have a more consultant led pregnancy and I have been prescribed 5mg folic acid and aspirin... I'm assuming this is for my weight and not my previous miscarriage... I'm now going to book my early scan for 10/9... my 38th birthday! as long as all ok, it will be a great birthday present!

Blueeyes91 · 30/08/2017 17:57

I'm in! We're due early April (we think). I've already had a scan due to past problems. But my first little one is looking good and I'm already very excited! If I ignore the all day MS.

charlie0692 · 30/08/2017 18:05

Hi @Ashleigh1989 I had a private scan last Thursday, I was 7w1d at that point and got to see a little heartbeat. It's our first child so I'm too impatient to wait till the 12 week scan at the end of september☺ it made it all feel so real seeing it on screen!

Ashleigh1989 · 30/08/2017 18:29

That's lovely news @charlie0692 . Did you have the scan on your tummy or vaginally? Sorry for the personal question. I'm very much looking forward to it then I can rest and stop worrying.
