I can't sleep at all at the moment! I'm constantly getting up for a pee and can't get comfy, I'm a tummy sleeper and so this belly is killing me! And he's super active at night... Also has anyone else had rib pain yet? I've got a constant stitch like ache under my right ribs, I've looked it up... Apparently it's where the muscles in between the ribs are stretching as baby is always much more on my right side. I've got my midwife apt on weds though so I'm gonna ask her too.
I haven't booked any antenatal classes at all, apparently they start from 30 weeks so I should get on that really! Haha

TheLionQueen1 · 30/07/2017 10:52

I sleep great just up every hour for a wee, no pain though and go straight back to sleep after!

I've got my ante-natal classes booked for the end of August, annoyingly they are on a Wednesday morning over 2 week so DH going to try and come but could just be me. Just done the NHS ones. Have also booked an NCT waterbirth class though first week in September at the birthing centre I hope to have baby, was only £35 which I thought was a bargain!

ScotsLamb · 30/07/2017 11:08

We are limited in what is available nearby in terms of anti natal classes. I've booked onto the NHS ones in November which are on a Wednesday morning. I would love to do more but we are over an hour to other classes and it seems pointless as the people there won't be local so won't be baby buddies.
I'm back into a better sleep routine than I have been. Sleeping all the way through with no dodgy dreams. This could be because I've cut out my afternoon nap.

Icantthinkofastupidname · 30/07/2017 11:23

Does the midwife give you all the info RE the NHS antenatal classes? I tried looking on the website but couldn't find anything in my local area. I know it's probably a bit too soon to be thinking about it yet tho. (14w6d). Don't think I can justify the cost of the NCT classes, would rather spend the £ on stuff for the baby when it's here.

Having a rubbish time mood wise at the moment. Pretty much all symptoms have vanished now, but still too early for feelings of movement, so feeling very un-pregnant. Will the MW try to get the baby's heartbeat at my 16wk appointment? 20wk scan is so far away to go on like this! If not, I'll probably end up caving in and booking a private scan.

ScotsLamb · 30/07/2017 12:34

My midwife gave me anti natal class info at my booking in appointment. It was in my pack.
I had a reduction in symptoms about the 14 weeks too. I then had a day of meltdown as I hadn't felt movement and 20 week scan felt so far away. I explained my concerns to midwife at 16 weeks and she listened for heartbeat! Best sound ever! No harm in asking especially fin you mention your anxiety.

ew1990 · 30/07/2017 12:49

My midwife listened at 16 week I recorded it on my phone. I've booked for NHS antenatal classes end of September, it's a weekend course Saturday and Sunday xx

TheLionQueen1 · 30/07/2017 14:09

Icantthinkofastupidname mine were listed in my maternity book and at my app before last (24wks possibly) she discussed with me and booked me in for them. We decided the same with the NCT ones, they're really expensive so just sticking to NHS. But worth looking at the NCT site for other little courses as that's where we found out about the water birth one!

TheLionQueen1 · 30/07/2017 14:12

Also sorry so say that our MW refused to listen for baby heart beat before our last appointment 28 weeks, apparently they don't do it as a rule in our area until then as they don't want you to worry if they can't find it. But every area is completely different so yours may!

That's why we ended up booking a private scan at just over 17 weeks and found out the sex then as well!

THirdEeye · 30/07/2017 14:46

I've still got to book something, we're opting for one long day as opposed to weekly sessions.

I can't believe that I'll be 26 wks, next week!

ValentineFizz · 30/07/2017 19:35

I'm just going with NHS antenatal classes too, thankfully these are run in the evening with my local maternity unit as I feel as if I'm always asking for time off work for appointments! The info for mine was in my notes folder which I got at booking in...

lydiangel83 · 30/07/2017 19:41

Thanks @TheLionQueen1 I have seen those under different brands and was planning on getting one. I don't sleep well anyway and pregnancy is making it worse - up multiple times for a wee and also bad back pain. We are getting a new mattress in a few weeks which should help. Typical that all big costs come at once as we ask need a new washing machine! Have not got a baby list yet but want one done by next wkend! 26+5 today :)

MrsBendyBaker · 30/07/2017 20:09

@NC1990 and @missonhartbaby - I feel your pain re the insomnia!! I'm also a belly sleeper so dreading getting to the stage where I'm unable to do so. And I'm peeing for England ATM. We did have tickets for a festival recently - booked way before we found out we were expecting - which we considered going to anyway (it's the sort of festival I could have happily enjoyed sober), but ultimately my fear of having to deal with toilet queues with my pregnancy-induced impatient belly was the deciding factor! 🙊

Anyway, booooooo at the pregsomnia and the excitable bladder. Although I suppose our pregsomnia is at least getting us ready for the sleepless nights further down the line.... 🙈

ew1990 · 30/07/2017 20:18

I feel you girls, all day I struggle to stay awake then come bedtime I'm wide awake for hours

Bobbiepin · 30/07/2017 20:37

@mrsbendy that's what everyone tells me about sleeping badly but frankly nothing is gonna get me ready for not sleeping! I get so irritable if I've not slept well. Poor DH is gonna be sick of me when baby comes!

mrsjkerry · 30/07/2017 20:53

My ailments lately: soooo much wind. And not being able to take a full breath in. Anyone else??

OP posts:
lydiangel83 · 30/07/2017 21:19

@mrsjkerry yep bit windy and also short on breath quite often, find myself huffing and puffing over things like putting my shoes on!!

Megha22 · 31/07/2017 14:24

Hey WaitingTillJuly17,

Don't worry about backaches as its normal, it happens most of the women and its completely normal, regular visit to doctor and your vitamins will help you get through this, trust me there is nothing to be concerned about you shall make it through.

ew1990 · 31/07/2017 19:44

How's everyone feeling today? Ive just finished day 3 out of 6 at work and i am shattered.

TheLionQueen1 · 31/07/2017 20:04

I am sooo tired Ew! I'm struggling now, and my job is mainly driving which is tough, I've got 6 weeks left at work and I can't imagine what it's going to be like then!

On a positive note, my pregnancy pillow came yesterday so used it last night and it's so good!!

ew1990 · 31/07/2017 20:08

I'm breaking it up which is keeping me sane,

I've got 2 more week then a week off.
Then 5 week then 2 week off.
Back for a week and then start maternity leave.

Are the pillows good, I have one of them triangle Ones but just can't seem to get comfy with it

TheLionQueen1 · 31/07/2017 20:24

I've got the one below and it's fab, only been one night though!

ew1990 · 31/07/2017 20:30

That's not a bad price either, I'll have a look

lydiangel83 · 31/07/2017 21:53

I'm shattered, am grumpy, have back ache and need to wee all the time!

Was just thinking what it'll be like post-baby to get in to long distance running with a weak bladder - had better get started on my pelvic floor exercises!!

Missonhartbaby · 31/07/2017 22:54

I had an accidental 3 hr nap today and I am not a napper!! So so tired at the moment! I've got V shaped pillow but like @ew said it's just not that comfy. And I'm so hot at night aswell having to many cushions to lie on/around me is just too much! But tbf the only real issue I have at the moment is lack of sleep so not all bad!
On a different note, any one thought about having a birthing pool? I think that's what I would like to do...

lydiangel83 · 01/08/2017 06:58

@TheLionQueen1 what's your cushion like and why is it such a funny shape?! You meant to wrap yourself around it!? My friend got a long L shaped one from Ikea that she now uses as bumper in baby's cot so may look in to that
