I had my growth scan today ladies and baby isn't too big thank God! Looking at being around 8lb when he's born, currently is 5lb 8 at nearly 35 weeks. I just hope he doesn't get much bigger!!! As he's on the top end of my average weights atm! Couldn't get a great pic but can see he's chubby cheeks and pouty lips! Can't wait to meet him... Eeeeeep. Anyone else had growth scans?

@Missonhartbaby at last midwife appt I was measuring big so they said I needed growth scan. I was going on holiday 2 days later and couldn't be fitted in on NHS so had private scan and all fine, just a growth spurt. Now have NHS one booked in for end September and think I will keep it for safe checking/ reassurance. Lovely pic you have there :)

TheLionQueen1 · 08/09/2017 16:23

I didn't need one, but they may still refer next week at my 36 wk app.

I've finished work today for maternity leave!! When did this happen and how has it gone so quickly?!!

ew1990 · 08/09/2017 17:32

@Missonhartbaby I had one 3 week ago baby was fine measuring average for how far along I was, I've got another next Friday and I might need one for when I'm 36 week,

@lydiangel83 I've only got 5 week left in work it's scary

ew1990 · 08/09/2017 17:44

I meant @TheLionQueen1 not Lydia sorry

Missonhartbaby · 08/09/2017 18:18

Yea I don't need any more now as long as my belly measurements stay linear. As then babies weight will still stay within what's normal for me. She did say you were never going to have a small a baby with him (my OH) as he's not exactly small is he! Haha. To be fair he's 6ft and built like a rugby player but I'm only little!!! Feels very surreal that we'll all start having our babies soonish!
Anyone done babies room yet? I'm doing it this week, not that he'll be in it for a while but I'm definitely nesting! Haha

Missonhartbaby · 08/09/2017 18:19

Also thanks @lydia :)

ew1990 · 08/09/2017 18:32

I was only 4lb 1oz when I was born at full term, but no problems x they did say they were gunna estimate what baby weighed but never told me, I'm gunna ask next time, but the consultant was really pleased so I'm not worrying

TheLionQueen1 · 08/09/2017 18:33

Not yet @Missonhartbaby ! Also I feel I need to practice putting babyseat in car so might make that my weekend job! I'm going to do the nursery next week!

Flatwhite31 · 08/09/2017 18:38

It was the right time, but thank you.

Missonhartbaby · 08/09/2017 18:43

@ew1990 yea if the consultant was happy then I'm sure it's all good! They might of only told me the weight cos I'm abit further along than you maybe, who knows! Seems everywhere is really different!
@lionqueen yay for nursery's! We're hitting Ikea this weekend to get all the furniture, exciting! And then I'm going for a circus-theme I think for the room...
Yea I'm still struggling with the pram at the moment but that's as it's at my mum's house as I've been told it's bad luck to have it at home untill he's born. I'm gonna have no idea how it all clips together! Haha

mrsjkerry · 09/09/2017 09:44

Is anyone else still sick? I wake up every morning vomiting and with a bad belly. 31+2 today. I can't decide if I should mention it at my midwife appointment next week of if they'll just brush it off as merely unfortunate in pregnancy!

OP posts:
Missonhartbaby · 09/09/2017 12:00

I would mention it if I were you, it probably is just that you've been unlucky with it, some people are just sick the whole time but it can't be very nice for you and they may be able to do something to help!! It must be awful, you've got my sympathies!!! Are you still able to eat and drink ok throughout the day?

mrsjkerry · 09/09/2017 14:10

It is so debilitating @Missonhartbaby. Yesterday I went out for dinner and as soon as the main came I couldn't eat it 😬

It tends to be much worse in the mornings and after I've thrown up and then nibbled tiny bits of dry toast it gets better. I generally then feel fine in the afternoons.

Seriously hoping this baby comes early!!

Bobbiepin · 09/09/2017 14:49

@mrsj its worth mentioning but lots of women get morning sickness towards the end of the pregnancy too. When I was really bad people kept telling me that they were throwing up in labour really useful, sorry

They can give you some stuff to manage it. Personally cyclizine didn't do much for me but anti nausea wristbands were a lifesaver.

mrsjkerry · 09/09/2017 18:07

@Bobbiepin I wouldn't mind soooo much if I'd at least had a break in the second trimester! I'm the opposite to you. The wristbands did nothing. Cylizine helps me stop feeling so sick...but it totally knocks me out. I literally cannot function with it.

I've also heard about the vomiting in labour.....but I was under the impression that was from being physically over exerted rather than hormonal 🤔

Oh well. 6 weeks and this could all be done with. #iwish

OP posts:
Bobbiepin · 09/09/2017 22:15

@mrsj to be completely honest I think the bands worked for me because it was on its way out anyway. I think I need to convince myself that they worked or I may never have another kid!

I don't know from experience but there are other medicines that work if cyclizine doesn't work. Please talk to your GP and midwife, there are other options.

Polliver · 09/09/2017 23:50

I still can't stop poas about once a week, even though I am 7+2 now. I find it quite reassuring...but what a waste of £. This was from this afternoon Blush

mrsjkerry · 10/09/2017 07:27

They are so addictive aren't they @Polliver. I think I stopped doing them after 2 weeks (6 weeks pregnant) because I read that HCG levels can drop and it would've freaked me out to get a negative at that point! Besides...I was in hospital being sick and on a drip so I was 100% pregnant that's for sure!

I often wonder if I took one now what it might say! 😄

Victoriaaaaaaaa · 11/09/2017 16:41

Anyone else fainted during pregnany? I'm 21 weeks and fainted in a department store last Saturday! Managed to tell hubby I didn't feel very well and he managed to catch me as I fainted and took the brunt of the fall! My bum hurt though! From what I've read it's common to faint in the second trimester? Baby girl kicking and moving as usual thank god!

ew1990 · 11/09/2017 16:50

@Victoriaaaaaaaa I fainted twice in the first trimester, I can feel it coming on now and sit down while it passes, when I told my midwife she told me if I fainted again I have to go to the gp, I think it's something with low blood pressure or something, I carry lucozade with me now and sip that if I start to feel funny

Polliver · 11/09/2017 18:28

Ah right, thanks @mrsjkerry, I think that's what I needed to hear! I didn't realise the hormone levels could go down...No more tests for me. Hope you're all having a good day and feeling less sick that I am Confused

Missonhartbaby · 12/09/2017 11:55

Has anyone on here had any experience with applying for statutory maternity pay from the government? I got made redundant so wasn't entitled to smp from my employer anymore but can still claim it from the government. I sent everything off and filled in the forms like a month ago and all I've heard is that they have received it and not to contact them as it makes things take longer... But shouldn't it of all been processed by now? I'm due in 5 weeks and the money would be so useful right now!!

mummyGof2boys · 12/09/2017 13:50

@Missonhartbaby if you are unemployed would it not be maternity allowance that you claim for. I know with being self employed that's what I claim as you can only claim smp if you are an employee.

Missonhartbaby · 12/09/2017 14:22

Oh yeah sorry I meant to put maternity allowance as I can't get smp now, that is whar I've applied for! Have you claimed yours yet? If so how long did it take?
