25% off at Sainsbury's on clothing as well all, I picked up quite a few baby grows and muslins!

Bobbiepin · 17/08/2017 18:43

Girls I'm having a little crisis of confidence, I need someone to put me straight. DH and I moved into our new home in January and always planned on making some changes. We've just about finalised everything with the builders to completely redo the kitchen. They won't be able to start until September (not sure when exactly) and DD is due 26/10. Am I completely insane? When we started this I thought they would be done by now and I'm terrified they'll still be here when baby is born

ew1990 · 17/08/2017 19:25

@Bobbiepin I think you'll be fine, we've still got a floor to put down, 2 bedrooms to plaster, a bathroom to tile and other things, just try not to stress about it it's what I'm doing (oh is currently working on the floor as I speak) x

ew1990 · 18/08/2017 17:40

Great news Ew, was it lovely to see her again? I miss scans, I'm getting so impatient to meet my little one now!!

My feet are now so swollen I am having to live in sandals as shoes don't fit and I've got a funeral in a few weeks so not sure what to do about shoes!

ew1990 · 18/08/2017 18:01

@TheLionQueen1 she's grown loads! My scan picture is only her face coz that's all that would fit on, they shown us every body part, the spine looks so weird x

Bobbiepin · 18/08/2017 19:00

Great news @ew1990

ew1990 · 18/08/2017 20:28

Midwife today asked me how I would like to feed, I said breastfeeding, i asked her about nipples leaking loads at night and she said it's nothing to worry about, it's a good thing x

mrsjkerry · 18/08/2017 22:01

I am soooo breathless!! On the point about scans, I've booked in for a private growth scan. I've had some heart issues (missing a beat) so was interested in checking blood flow to the placenta. Really looking forward to seeing baby on Tuesday! 😊

@mrsjkerry It's lovely seeing them on that screen isn't it? How's everyone else today?

Here's the picture from mine today

mrsjkerry · 19/08/2017 07:30

Yeah @ew. It's so nice! My husband doesn't want to come though. He said when we left the 20 week scan he felt very emotional because the next time he saw baby would be in the flesh. He says to have another scan would diminish that emotional moment for him; he doesn't even want to see any pictures after the scan on Tuesday! I can't decide if it's very cute or very annoying.

Lovely picture! You're right. Baby does look packed in tight in there!! 😄

Hi all, just found out I was pregnant last week! Dates are slightly unsure due to been on the mini pill at the time but did have an unidentified bleed around six weeks ago so doctors are going with that been implantation.

So far on the symptom front I am lucky (if that's the right word) I've had the odd metal taste in my mouth, a few bouts of nausea and slightly tender boobs and the odd bit of lower back ache which seems to have gone but other than that nothing. Is this normal? I'm terrified that the lack of symptoms mean there's nothing there. Anybody else feel the same?

DarcyParty · 19/08/2017 13:50

Sounds normal to me @effs, I didn't have many symptoms til the morning sickness kicked in at 8 weeks. Don't be afraid if you have some cramping similar to period pains either, it's completely normal as long as there's no blood too I think. And congratulations! Flowers

@ew1990 that's a lovely photo! I miss the scans now :D

mrsjkerry · 19/08/2017 16:12

Think the only symptoms I got were extreme tiredness. I remember my eyes just closing and needing to go to bed around 8pm. As well as a very sore back. Very similar to period pains.

Morning sickness came at 6 weeks and is still yet to disappear...28 weeks now!

ew1990 · 19/08/2017 16:17

The only symptoms I had were sore boobs and period like cramps,

I had my whooping cough vaccine yesterday and had the shortest nights sleep coz my arm was killing

ew1990 · 19/08/2017 16:20

That was meant to say shittest 😂

mrsjkerry · 19/08/2017 16:22

Omg @ew1990 I had my jab too yesterday! Arm is killing!

SunyBay · 19/08/2017 16:23

Congratulations @eff Yes, I don't have many symptoms. Neither did my mum with me. It seems it's very dependent on the individual. For me, just tiredness, period-like pains and just feeling a bit bloated in the lower abdomen, being hungry, and sometimes lightheaded, sore breasts (although that's mostly stopped now - I've read that by now (I'm 9+1 weeks) the breasts will have stopped growing until you're breast-feeding. As I'm already well-endowed up top, I'm very glad about it. They don't need to be any bigger!)

But nothing too terrible. I'm still managing at work, although my boss knows that I'm pregnant as I was off work with my lightheadness for a while, and I've got three antenatal appointments already booked.

ew1990 · 19/08/2017 16:49

@mrsjkerry I had my bloods took, my whooping cough and my anti d, I was a sweating mess I hate needles!

mrsjkerry · 19/08/2017 17:10

Haha same! They did three blood tests and the whooping cough! What's anti d?
