@lydiangel83 mine don't always bleed but so so painful! Makes you dread going for a number 2 🙈

lydiangel83 · 14/08/2017 12:06

Thanks girls I think I'll be having a look later!! So glamorous lol! In other news have had such bad back pain for days - not sure why but sitting in any position makes it really hurt after a short while :( really hope this is preggo related rather than worsening of existing back problems :-/

ew1990 · 14/08/2017 12:46

@lydiangel83 I feel for you, I had it for a couple of days, the only thing that eased it was sitting In the car with the heated seat on low

lydiangel83 · 14/08/2017 12:56

Thanks @ew1990 I am feeling a bit miserable. Had a dream last night that baby was born blind which wasn't nice :-/

Just had sharp pain in my side that came and went quite quickly so thinking may be Brixton Hicks? Anyone else had this? I'm 29 wks on weds

ew1990 · 14/08/2017 16:26

I've had sharp pains a few times but don't know what they are? I thought it was round ligament pain. I heard braxton hicks is more like tightening of your bump?

mrsjkerry · 14/08/2017 17:23

Sharp pains are ligaments. That's what midwife told me. They can be extremely painful sometimes. If you belly feels like it's tightened and then released then that's the braxtons...

Sharp pain was a bit high to be ligament pain I thought but maybe your right. Definitely different to that tightening sensation which I have had a few times now

Bobbiepin · 14/08/2017 18:42

Sharp pains are normal as long as the pain isn't there for too long.

Ended up in the maternity assessment unit today. Baby hadn't moved all day, she's fine but I was so scared. She was so active yesterday and barely anything today.

mrsjkerry · 14/08/2017 19:27

Yeah you're right to ring hospital if you've noticed lots of movement and then nothing. For me though, some days I don't feel baby at all. I put it down to my anterior placenta! I'm very aware I can't be ringing the hospital every other day!

On another note...just ordered pram!! 😬

Glad you're ok @Bobbiepin and exciting @mrsjkerry what did you go for?

mrsjkerry · 14/08/2017 22:08

The silvercross sleepover. Just really liked the look of it. And my friend bought the other silvercross one I liked so decision was made as didn't want identical prams!

@mrsjkerry ooh nice never heard of that one! I went for pioneer in the end, got lazy and a friend said it was good so figured would be good for us too!

mrsjkerry · 15/08/2017 07:03

Yeh @lydiangel83 I was going to get the pioneer but then friend bought it. And also when I went to the mothercare event it seemed to be the one everyone was buying so just felt like getting something a little different! Pioneer is lovely though. Especially the Brompton one that's exclusive to mothercare.

Anyone here claiming MA because they were off work the qualifying weeks sick?

lydiangel83 · 15/08/2017 10:27

@mrsjkerry how is yours different to pioneer? We got Brompton as it came with free car seat!

mrsjkerry · 15/08/2017 10:33

Well mine has the metal basket as well as the body of the seat/cot being quilted. It also has larger wheels which are like actual air tyres rather than the plastic ones so it means suspension is a bit better, but also means it's more susceptible to puncture than the pioneer. When I rang silvercross she said none are particularly better than any other; it's about preference and lifestyle!

Bobbiepin · 15/08/2017 10:35

I liked the look of the silver cross ones but got the icandy in the end because you can fold it with one hand.

lydiangel83 · 15/08/2017 11:46

Haha totally agree - pretty sure that they are all pretty similar! How much choice would our grandmothers have had over prams??

Squigglefish · 15/08/2017 12:44

Ugh TMI alert but I woke up at 3am covered in leaked milk. It's the most I've ever leaked so far. My friend who is ahead of me has had no leakage whatsoever, I've been getting it from quite early on. I suppose it'll be a good thing when the time comes Confused 29 weeks tomorrow, has anyone else had any?

lydiangel83 · 15/08/2017 12:46

@Squigglefish I'm 29 wks tomorrow and not had any but like you say we are all different and probably a good thing in the long run x

ew1990 · 15/08/2017 12:49

@Squigglefish I wake up every morning with a big patch on my top where I've leaked while I've been asleep, always my right boob, I'm 27+3

Bobbiepin · 15/08/2017 12:55

@Squigglefish I'm 29 weeks and not had any yet. Maybe get a sleep bra and start using breast pads when you sleep?

mrsjkerry · 15/08/2017 13:17

I read about this and apparently you're not supposed to start producing the milk or whatever until you're in labour because it's those hormones that induce the production of it! I haven't had any milk or leakage whatsoever but my friend has from very early on. I think as with everything in pregnancy, everyone's different and practically everything like that varies hugely!

My nipples have gotten very sensitive though...

Anyone go to a mama and papas event last Sunday?

ew1990 · 15/08/2017 14:26

I've just had a voicemail from my doctors to pick up a prescription- my midwife said at my appointment a couple of week ago my urine was showing signs of an infection so she'll send it off to be tested, so it must be for that
